My cable provider has a set of HD channels that is much further up so assume same deal. As long as you have an HD capable box.

The box I used to have and am getting was/is HD capable but I just checked the website and I don't see USA-HD listed on the page of HD channels. Is USA owned by NBC? because the site shows NBC-HD and if I can get that then I have to imagine that I'll get USA-HD.

I think... could be wrong but USA HD launches that day?
Not sure.

And holy shit at the cage bump.

From wiki
While a high definition version of the channel launched on October 3, 2007.[1], which is currently available on DirecTV and several other cable systems,[2] USA Network HD will not officially launch until January 28th, 2008 [3], with WWE Raw being the first broadcast to air.

Ah, thanks for that tidbit of info... I wasn't aware that it wasn't a released channel yet. I guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks if I get the channel when I look for Raw in a different spot.

We need a GIF of Orton's double-take when Jeff made that jump. I couldn't stop laughing. And I wish Dish Network would get off their ass and start getting some more of these HD channels.

TNA spoilers for 1/10.

(1) The Motorcity Machine Guns d. Elix Skipper & Senshi.

(2) Judas Mesias d. Chris Harris.

(3) Petey Williams & Sonjay Dutt d. VKM.

- Robert Roode's number one fan attacked Ms. Brooks.

(4) Tomko d. Shark Boy.

(5) LAX d. Lance Hoyt & Jimmy Rave.

- Jim Cornette announces AJ Styles vs Christian vs Samoa Joe for next week with the winner facing Kurt Angle for the TNA title at Against All Odds.

(6) Awesome Kong d. Gail Kim to win the Womens Title.

I just love that Jeff got a push to the mainevent.

Yeah, it's nice to see the WWE notice some potential in mid-card talent and bring them up to the Main event level like they used to, the last time they did this I think was with Edge. (I guess you could say Randy Orton too but I don't count him because of his random-ass title run in 2004)

sorry, but that is completely wrong. USA has been in HD since October. New episodes of Monk, L&O:CI, as well as tons of syndicated shows (L&O) and movies (Pirates of the Caribbean) are already in HD.

Anyone who gets movies and shows on USA-HD now will get Raw in two weeks. DirecTV and apparently now some Comcast franchises. I know Dish is working hard to get it up also but don't know if it will be in two weeks. If you DON'T have USA-HD, you will not see it in HD and there is no way for you to. You have to go somewhere that carries USA-HD.

As for where USA-HD is located if you have it, it depends on your provider. DirecTV overlaps all of the channels. So USA is 244 (I think) and USA-HD is 244. If you punch in 244 on the remote it will automatically take you to the HD channel. If you look in the guide the HD channel will be first and the SD second. Other providers (like TWC) put the HD version of channels at a different hundreds than their SD version. So if USA is on 34, they might put USA-HD on 534.

edit - DirecTV now has Royal Rumble listed in HD. Price is $10 more ($49.95). No word on if it will be MPEG-2 or MPEG-4. If RAW is going HD in two weeks, my guess is that week will be ALL HD. We know Smackdown is going by the end of January, RAW will be, and ECW is shot before Smackdown using the same production setup. Looks like WWE is in HD for good in two weeks.

Well, I just noticed that at the Royal Rumble there is a match between Edge and Mysterio for the Heavyweight Title... I don't watch Smackdown but I thought Mysterio was out of the Heavyweight Title picture?? Are they still keeping up the "David vs. Goliath-type" storylines with him?
.
.
.
.
... and even though I don't watch Smackdown, he better not win the title off of Edge :(

Why would he be out of the Heavyweight Title picture? Hell he main evented er... the PPV Batista won the title (Unforgivein?)

And I don't really think it is a David vs Goliath when it is Edge. Not the world's biggest person..

I know its not David vs Goliath with Edge but he's always in those situations where he's beating someone who's bigger than him by pure luck. It got old real fast a couple of years ago.

* On a side note Penguin, you have got possibly the best tag on Gaf now! How did you get that thing?!:lol

Since Eddie Guererro's widow is Smackdown's gm and she has an "on screen" relationship with Edge, i can bet you lots of money that this will involve Eddie once again.

Can they stop using his death for story lines.... Seriously.

While HHH has his friends in the locker room, the general feeling is that he still uses his political power to hold people back when he feels like they are getting too hot and could become a threat to him. John Cena is said to be one of the few people who blew up that HHH didn’t try to hold back.

HHH is even less liked now than he was before his injury. The Game’s paranoia of losing his spot on the card dates all the way back to the MSG incident in 1996 when the clique broke character in front of a live audience, and he was punished for the actions of Michaels, Hall & Nash.

When Booker T was rising in popularity, HHH was widely seen as part of the reason he left WWE for TNA. HHH felt that he couldn’t have a competitive match with Booker, because Booker had just done competitive matches with Jerry Lawler, a 58-year-old announcer. Booker T, who was well-liked in the locker room, had been in talks with TNA even prior to SumerSlam and the straw that broke the camel’s back was his suspension. The Game got even more heat on himself when he made some comments about Chris Jericho’s return that didn’t go over well with the guys backstage.

HHH’s former Evolution partner Randy Orton is seen as one of the only people who stand up to him and Shawn Michaels backstage, but at this point in his career, HHH is basically untouchable.

Yeesh

You just need to know that everyone on GAF needed a Rude Awakening.

Hehe. I knew Triple H would jerk himself off in delight over Jericho's return bombing.

From JR's blog:

Hey J.R.,
Great job on the blog as usual. I just wanted to ask you if beef jerky would be good for people like me who prefer their meat juicy and not dry. Also, do you rub barbecue sauce on your nipples when you get excited? Boomer Sooner!
Thanks, I.C.

You need professional help I.C., and I suggest you seek it soon.

Well since no one watches ECW here.

Good show really.
Especially if they continue running the same tag match/main event (Punk/Chavo)

But it seems like ECW was announced as going HD in 2 weeks as well. And since Smackdown is taped the same time and CW was asking WWE to do this for a while would assume Smackdown would launch in 2 weeks as well.

I'd like to get back into wrestling. I grew up on it and I was a huge fan when the NWO was around. I can't help but feel that the WWE just fucked themselves by gobbling up the competition however. I tried to watch the other night and it was just completely lost on me. To say that they need to acquire some talented writers would be an understatement.

Looking for talented writers in Ring of Honor? Uh, there is no writing. They book a japanese-type promotion.

Punk's promos were great though.

WWE still has the best stories/writing WHEN THEY TRY. And there's at least one great story between Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania...

TNA spoilers for 10/17

(1) ODB d. Angelina Love to earn a shot at the Womens Title at Against All Odds.

- Team 3D and Johnny Devine challenged The Motorcity Machine Guns and Jay Lethal to a Hardcore Street Fight at Against All Odds. The Guns and Lethal accepted and then both teams brawled.

(2) Tomko d. Eric Young.

- James Storm attacked Young and tried to drink a beer with Tomko but he punched him in the face.

(3) Kaz d. Senshi.

- Black Reign attacked Kaz.

- Kip James calls out BG and demands to know who his tag team partner is going to be. BG reveals that it will be his father Bullet Bob Armstrong. Bob comes out and all three embrace and leave together.

(4) Abyss d. Lance Hoyt.

- James Mitchell revealed the secret that he is the father of Abyss.

(5) Robert Roode d. Sonjay Dutt.

(6) Christian Cage won a 3 way over Samoa Joe and AJ Styles to earn a shot at the TNA World Title at Against All Odds. Joe was eliminated first when he was DQ'd and then AJ was pinned giving Cage the win.

I want a gif of Flair from the video I posted above. Right before he starts talking, the camera cuts to him and he's got the cheesiest smile going, so funny to me.:lol

The World Wrestling Entertainment website has officially announced another match for this month’s WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Ric Flair will be taking on United States Champion MVP at the Royal Rumble in a ‘Career Threatening Match’.

So I guess he'll be on both shows.

The National Ledger has an article on Candice Michelle's fetish modeling career before she joined World Wrestling Entertainment in 2004. Before joining WWE, Michelle worked as a foot fetish model, under the pseudonym Mackenzie Montgomery. They are just now discovering some risque photos she did apparently. The headline reads "WWE Diva Candice Michelle: Is This a New Photos Scandal?" You can check out the article at this link. They attempted to reach Candice for comment, but she has yet to make a statement.
:lol :lol :lol

I watched some video of this foot fetish thing today, and it's like 6 minutes of a guy sucking toes like they're little penises. How is this some scandal?
