JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable OT What a Beautiful Duwang

People might complain about the loss of swole, but I'm really glad Araki found his own style
Josuke don't even look right swole though (the fuck is up with the Praying Mantis arms?). It's only with the Pillar Men and Part 3 Dio and Jotaro where they look weird unswole.

Yeah, Araki mentioned that he knows how weird they look. But he doesn't like forcing characters into a single artstyle, so he does whatever.

Oh, so Kira off-screen would know it was activated, he'd detonate it and then time would move backwards? I see, I didn't know that.
It isn't clearly explained, but yeah the explosion part of Bites the Dust is activated manually, it's the eye jump part that's automatic. It gives Kira time to gloat.

Anyone else have flashbacks of Smokey when Josuke took Joseph's wallet? Perhaps Smokey's still alive (albeit retired) if Joseph is still living.

Or maybe the first hit using a new target has to be activated manually and the later ones are automatic? The first hit seems to be the only one that Kira can remember too.

Man Koichi vs Yukako was such a fun fight. Echoes evolving, Yukako's foul mouth, the creativity with sound effects, Koichi manning the fuck up, it's got everything.

Gohan wishes he had character development like Koichi
He even walks back proudly to meet the boys with his bae looking at his back in admiration. Best short dude since Edward Elric.
The part 4/5 style is likely my favorite Akari art style. I'm don't like his current style that much.
From what I've seen he draws women the best with his current art style and with Part 6. It has it's own kind of flair to it that's for damn sure.

Man, I held off on watching last week's episode so I could the final two back-to-back & man what a helluva finale that was. Gotta admit, I was getting very bittersweets feels when the theme song kicked in at the end, I'm really gonna miss these characters & watching this every week.

Part 4 by far is my favorite so far, I loved the much smaller & intimate scale for the storyline, characters & stakes in contrast to the world domination antics of the past 3 parts. Kira was an awesome antagonist & good take on a Patrick Bateman-esque character. Okuyasu & Koichi are the best bros. Bring on Part 5!

I wonder if Araki read American Psycho, since the novel came out 1991 but the movie 2000 (DiU ran from 1992 to 1995)

Lol really. Okuyasu actually could have beaten RHCP, but he was too stupid during the fight. Dude got straight Tienshinhan'd. "Yare Yare Daze, I guess we should worry about Okuyasu." Jotaro gives zero fucks, now if that was Koichi on the other hand... Geezer Joseph has the worst fucking hat.

Okuyasu felt like Polnareff done exceedingly wrong. Both are supposed to play the dumb sidekick role, but polnareff had a very basic and elegant stand and had some wits of his own, while okuyasu had this broken ass stand and is possibly the dumbest character in any gang.

There was never a point to his character other than that final payoff vs kira and rhcp, but he botched it with rhcp, and even polny did the final boss attack better.

So, summing up, main characters and their sidekicks should nevern gt OP stands cause if they do they gotta be dumb or no fight would have tension.

I'd of loved it if Okuyasu could use his stand well, seems like it could be a really really good stand if he knew how to use it right.

It's implied that since he relied on Keicho and then Josuke so much, Okuyasu didn't really think much for or about himself.

Until he hears Keicho tell him to make his own decisions, then he immediately pulls off two clever moves with The Hand.

Okuyasu having the best stand in Part 4 but being too dumb to use it properly is part of his charm. Him saving the day at the end of last week's episode was great payoff.

How comes Kira had to activate Bites the Dust manually there when it was an automatic process on Hayato?

I don't think it was automatic, we just didn't see it

It is out right established that the first version of Bite The Dust is completely automatic. He even calls Hayato a landmine. Kira says it is autonomous and triggers without him knowing. He doesn't even know who the target is (he successfully guesses it's Rohan because he knew he was the first to investigate) or how many times it has activated (he has to guess how many loops Hayato has been through). He didn't know about the cup either.

I'm guessing it's like any of his bombs; he can make an automatic and manual one (he rewinds to undo Hayato's death manually). He had to use the manual one because he was in a pinch.

The anime made it exceedingly clear that Okuyasa is the weakest JoBro

He definitely has his moments, but he's so underutilized it's hard to actually believe Josuke when he says "let's kick ass together, like we always do!"

I think Josuke just loves getting into mischief with Okuyasu.

Okuyasu is great because him and Josuke actually feel like friends.

Speedwagon was just thirsty for Jonathan, Joseph and Caesar were more like comrades in arms, Jotaro doesn't have friends that aren't marine animals. Josuke and Okuyasu are actually like two dudes who hang out and do dumb shit together as friends.

That's true

His friendship with Josuke was definitely genuine & great

Buuuuut he doesn't have much else going for him...

Outside of his friendship with Josuke and his flawed-yet-touching connection with his brother, Okuyasu doesn't really have much to go off of.

He didn't leave as much of an impression on me as I had hoped, and there being a ton of colorful side characters makes him even less notable.

Something I wanna point out about Bites the Dust. From what I understand, it is automatic. It activates on its own when Kira is in danger. It needs a host that is a threat to his quiet life. Hayato was that host because he was fucked after killing him. His peaceful life was over. He would have to go on the run again. At first Kira didn't understand his power but by the time he's surrounded by the heroes he does. He doesn't activate it manually. He just knows that telling this woman his identity jeopardizes his quiet life and knows Bites the Dust will activate because of that with her as the host.

He was planning to push the switch though and having fully understanding of how it works when he explains it to Hayato (presumably because he used it several times between Hayato's death in the bath and the next morning).

That's true. He was literally gonna activate it manually. I guess it just has two settings.
