His politics wont be fighting evil villains or whatever strong warlords escaped their blown up planet. It'll be fighting for sexuality discrimination where the bad guy that month is the high school football coach who calls his a team a bunch gay wimps after a loss.

If the politics angle is real then yeah that would be annoying. I'd hate to see it overdone in an off-putting way. I guess it depends on how they go about it though. I was reading Superman a few years ago starting at the 1930s beginning and it was interesting the influence that geopolitics had on the comic. Very early on I remember a storyline with legit pacifists being victimized somehow.

Funny you say that I'm always annoyed at how "gay looking" they make these pioneering characters sometimes. Star Trek Discovery basically has a very Westernized gay-looking and gay-sounding dude as the first main gay character on ST.

I always wonder if they would have the balls do do something like say, two regular dudes turning out to be gay. Cold Pursuit did this and definitely put a smile on my face.

Not that's there anything wrong with girly or campy gay characters, but it seems like there is a narrow view of what a gay person looks and sounds like.
