So you're putting weight on 5 words in a scheme over multiple lines that point out that there's no beef and that it's not a diss.

The bars mean he's trying to outdo them not that he wants to battle them. That's why most of the responses so far are taking more offense at the KONY shit.

None of the dudes Kendrick named (or other guys on that level) are going to respond directly. It's much easier to drop a hot verse on a different beat and then throw in a sublim reference to Control, rather than a head to head freestyle on the same beat.

The dudes responding directly now are just using Kendrick's name to get their buzz up (or back up).

SLR1 was dope. Beaming was hot. He had some good tracks on his mixtapes after The Cool.

As a huge Lupe fan, it's blatantly obvious that the quality in his music has significantly dropped since The Cool but there are a few great tracks that stick out like Jonylah Forever, American Terrorist III and Animal Pharm. Still wish that he's go back to The Cool and F&L1 days but meh, he won't.
