Killer is Dead making its way to PC

Oh my god, just when I thought random Japanese Steam announcements couldn't get better after that God Hand hint. Cannot wait.

God hand hint... What!?

This sounds amazing. I know the game doesn't have the beat reviews but it looks stylish. I'll be picking this and Yaiba up day one.

Also, this gives me more hope about Lily Bergamo making it to PC since it is being published by a PC oriented company.

To be honest, for me the screen tearing just disappeared after the first or so hour. Or I just turned blind, I don't know.

So, in one year-ish:

- Deadly Premonition
- Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3
- Ikaruga
- Resident Evil 4 HD
- Killer is Dead
- King of Fighters XIII
- Metal Slug 3
- Trails in the Sky First/Second
- Metal Gear Rising
- Agarest
- Typing of the Dead: Overkill
- Ninja Gaiden Yaiba (lol)

Reeeeaaally awesome trend, hopefully it continues.

I know Guilty Gear Isuka and BlazBlue were already on PC, but them hitting Steam should count for this list too.

By the way, I'm going to laugh when Yaiba turns out to get better reviews than LoS2.

I also noticed the vampire chapter isn't mentioned, but sure it'll be included. To be honest, that vampire DLC episode thing is bullshit as the chapter has a perfect location in the game's story and offers explanation to some things. Not my favorite chapter or boss or anything but it feels that chapter was cut as the publishers ask for DLC stage incentive, and they decided they could cut that.

(Though that chapter does have some fun references to Lollipop Chainsaw)

· Smooth Operator Pack for console will be included and unlocked after Episode 3.

That includes the story DLC :)

I like to see it as Cowboy Bebop on crack, the structure is fairly similar.

I actually like to think about it as a
reverse/counter
reflection of No more heroes.

As in NMH
By the end of both story arcs, Travis grows a little as a person and more inner peace with past traumas/family conflicts

Meanwhile
Mondo is transformed in a copy of his evil man child brother.

Hell, Mondo is pretty much
Henry
and David a
evil Travis Touchdown

Were they the same thing? For some reason I thought that was the gigalo glasses and costume thing. But then on thinking it, it is that chapter that unlocks the vampire mistress.

Hope it's included in the story though as, again, it fits perfectly in the story before the Japanese chapter. Even if that chapter has my least favorite boss.

What matters is
two dudes slashing each other in business suits on the moon while Dvorak plays.

Such an incredible and ridiculous boss fight.

Personally, this was one of my favorite games last year and I do not mind buying another copy of the game (sold off my 360 copy of it while the value was still really high and I actually kept the LE extras for myself)

This is Grasshopper's best game, maybe outside of Killer7. I'll probably double dip some day. A PC version is a pretty big deal given the horrible visual timing issues on console.

I have this on the PS3 but havent gotten around to it yet. Might double dip if its a great port (which it should given its UE3) and I still havent gotten to the game by the time it comes out.

Some of these are mostly Western games (Typing of the Dead: Overkill, Ninja Gaiden Yaiba), most of the rest are Western-developed, funded, or spearheaded ports. Which is fine, because I'm happy with PC versions regardless, but I'm more looking forward to Japanese developers taking the steps themselves (which has happened or is happening in the cases of Ikaruga and KoF XIII at the very least).

So if this trend of hardcore Japanese titles getting ported to PC on the cheap is a thing, I'll also take Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, El Shaddai, Shadows of the Damned, Monster Hunter 3 U, Vanquish and Okami HD among others. Thanks guys.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
Wow, glad I never bought the console versions. Will be crazy to have the game not running like shit.

Wonder if they'll put it on GOG...

It really BLOWS MY DAMN MIND that this game, which I always wanted but had given up ALL hope on seeing it on Steam, made it to the platform before VF5, Vanquish, or Bayonetta.

Can you imagine if the new Persona game came out on PC.

Maybe a collection for the older games and a release of their update to their fighting game on Steam would be amazing.

Hell ANYTHING is possible now that Killer is Dead is on Steam.

I woudn't go that far

Deep Silver publiced also Deadly Premonition on Steam and Killer Is Dead is a Unreal Engine 3 game (easier port). So it makes sense to me.

The only downside to all these Japanese games making it over is the heartbreak of the bad ports. Dark Souls was actually solid outside of the easy resolution fix but Deadly Premonition was heartbreakingly bad. I had save files corrupt, crashes to desktop, major visual errors, freezes, AND needed DPfix on top of it all. My love for Japanese games is going to be tested if we get more garbage like that.

Well the more practice they get the better things will get. Remember old Capcom PC ports like RE4, DMC3, and Chaos Legion. Games like Deadly Premoniton and Dark Souls seem like amazing ports when compared to Capcom's first attempt.

Now Capcom makes some of the best ports around even when compared to long time PC developers.

I can't even aim because of a glitch. Terrible port.
