i'm supposed to be able to use the health pack with any class, but instead, i can use any secondary badge with medic (even if i haven't earned the right to use it with other classes)

so i can do medic/boost or medic/repair even though i never got the ribbons to let me use those badges with other classes... but i can't do engineer/health pack like i'm supposed to

edit: apparently i had it backward and it's working as intended. the last class-specific badge you get basically 'awakens' that specific class (allowing that class to use other badges), rather than 'freeing' that secondary badge to be used with other classes.

No if you want to use the Engineer with medic packs , you have to complete the repair ability badge, then you can combine Engineer with medic packs.

For the Assault you'll need to complete the boost ability, then you can use the medic packs.

You unlock the ability to use other classes secondary badge with the medic. So for eg. if you get 8 secondary ribbons with an engineer (repair ability), you are then able to use other secondary badges (med pack for eg.) with that same class, engineer.

yes, when you get the secondary badge medal of a given class, you are allowed to use other secondary badges instead of it.

If you want to use the medipack with the Assault, you need to get the Boost medal first.

So I really want to play this game, but of course, I don't own a PS3 thanks to being a poor broke ass college student. I want to play this game. Do you think this game will still be popular in like...oh 4 months or so? Or will it die out thanks to the delay with the controller?

Fix on the way? I dont wanna read through this many pages, can you blame me?

Killzone 2 should have a great online lifespan. Lots of cool features to keep you coming back for more, and then there's all the DLC they have planned for the future too. :)

And I'm NEVER gonna get the Professional trophy, what an annoying fucking trophy to get.

I'm getting a little better at the controls. The shotgun is totally ridiculous, I hope they fix that soon. Also I just ranked up a level, and when I got out it had taken it from me as if I never played the last match.

Wait, what do I have to do to be able to combine primary and secondary abilities again? I have all the classes unlocked and about 1/3rd of the secondaries. Do I need to unlock all the secondary abilities to be able to mix and match?

You have to get the medal of a given class' secondary ability to be able to use other abilities with that class.


Example:

You play as a medic, you get the medal for reviving, unlocking health packs, then you get the medal with the health packs.

You play as a tactitian, get the medal for the spawn points, unlocking the air support. You can now use the air support with your medic. But you can't use the health packs with your tactician yet.

In other words, you have to fully master a class to be able to give it another secondary ability than its natural one

Yeah, i really hope they remove the auto aim on shotgun soon. It's way too easy. It's not that hard to aim without it too.

The main problem i see is that i am not going to hit an online rank of within whatever % because i always see ~5 people in every game i play with people just running around with a shotgun, auto aiming and getting scores like 50 kills 5 deaths. I can't compete with that, i'm playing to upgrade my secondaries to use whenever.

Fuck shotgun noobs that are max rank and still dominate on servers.

For example: what are the requirements for the killing specialist ribbons? Do I have to do 8 different ones to get that medal that the page isn't even telling me the name of? I'm sure it's called the the Killing Specialist medal, but what does this do for me?

I hate to keep going back to cod4, but all of that stuff was clearly laid out for you. Obviously this is a more in depth system with classes, but why don't they just have it there for you on your stats page?

You get 8 ribbons of a type to get the medal. So if a ribbon says get 8 headshots in a match, you need 8 headshots in a match, in 8 different matches.

When you walk across a disguised sab, you don't have the time to take a quick look at the radar. One split second hesitation and you're dead.

Uh learn the look of the basic solider. I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, all Saboteurs become them. Not many people stick to that at all, so if you see that, shoot.

Plus when they run they sorta flicker or something.

Plus your crosshairs will turn red.

No they don't, I've seen sabs disguised as any other class.

When they run they don't flicker at all, that's the scouts. And the crosshair will turn red if you're really close to them.

Ive played 40 games so far and never seen anyone come even remotely close to that number.

Thanks man. I was spectating ya'lls match earlier. Looked like you were finishing in the top 2-3 every time.

On that note, I wish more of the Gaf games allowed spectators. I'm pretty sure I'm not good enough to hang with most of you guys (yet), but it's fun to watch. Are they worried about spectators assisting one team or something?

Hell no don't make it easier, what kind of lame shit is that? It already only takes 2-3 days to reach top rank and each medal only requires 8 games of effort.

I've put in 3 days of multiplayer and I just reached Lieutenant today. The ribbons I can understand and appreciate as they keep people coming back. But the requirements for some of them(I.E. sentry kills) are stupidly difficult and just frustrating.
