Finished the SP campaign today and I realy enjoyed the entire experience. I thought the story was just as good or better then most FPS, don't know why Edge panned the story so badly. I thought Rico was a bit over the top but I just laughed at how much of an asshole he was most of the time. The only thing that did irk me a bit was the loading skips and controls pre-patch. GG did a great job overall and I look forward to KZ3.

After playing a game online it makes killing the AI so unsatisfactory. Happened with CoD 2&4 but at least I played through the campaign before tasting the sweet necture that is their online play. The campaigns in CoD and KZ offer nothing the online experience don't. Halo 3 had a shit story but at least the campaign has you facing totally different enemies and in co-op.

I may never finish KZ's story. :lol

I had that same problem with COD as well but the universe for KZ is just so compelling to me. Promise me you will at least beat it for the end.

That's what I hate about Halo 3's story, you have to read 3-4 books and decipher cryptic terminals to get anything out of the story. I suppose it isn't a big deal to read through a concise summary in the OP but this shit still disappoints me. Developers stop dumbing down the in-game stories and go all out.

I can't believe this game was in open beta for so long, yet that class somehow gets through.

i'd rather fight helghast all day than fight glorified gorillas and goblins. FPS campaigns are always second rate though -- the best AI still doesn't compare with fighting other humans.

It's not that I love the character designs and want to buy grunt plushies; it's that running through Halo 3 in 4 person campaign is a completely unique experience compared to what I've play of KZ2 and CoD. When I'm playing KZ2 SP it feels like I'm playing a gimped version of the competitive MP mode. The SP has been a linear version of the online mode with less interesting enemy and teammate intelligence.

You must be one hell of a player to be able to consistently shoot spawn grenades.

Remember, this has to be before they become active. That said, there's usually enemy in the area and you will die taking out the grenade. But it's worth it.

None of that applies in no-friendly-fire scrub games, where all the bad guys are lobbing explosives as fast as possible. In that maelstrom you don't have a chance.

Sorry no, just mistaken. I have definitely shot red blinking grenades on the ground, causing them to pop around and then spew gray smoke. Evidently they weren't spawn grenades, though, so I don't know what to say. I assume they were airbot beacons, but there were no airbots around when I destroyed them. Perhaps the beacons stick around for some time after the bot is downed? Either that, or maybe they were regular grenades that glitched somehow?

In any case, sincere apologies for the confusion. I guess it's back to complaining about spawn grenades for me!

Just finished my 2nd run through the game, which was on Easy (to get the Untouchable Trophy ). The game is so lovely and once again I can reconfirm my opinion that there isn't a bad level/area in the entire game. It's awesome.

Elite is my next job for single player, and I am looking forward to it. I really enjoyed CoD2 and 4 on Veteran, so I assume I am in for a similar difficulty jump?

Play a locked game with a friend or two where you take turns killing each other with C4. Yes it is very close to cheating.
I helped a clan-member do it with a sentry bot. And how you are supposed to get the kills with the sentry bot without doing it that way seems impossible. Even if I stood still it took it 20 seconds t kill me. So he wounded me so I had about 10-15 % health and then let the sentry finih me off.
Have you ever been killed by one of thoose? Still think the turrets are a little underpowered but the sentry bots are just ridiculous. And too easy to destroy.

Played online tonight. Did ok I guess. Going through Elite and made it to stage 6. I am getting used to it, but the hardest thing about it having eyes in the back of your head. I sometimes get shot from everywhere and don't know where to run to so I can take cover. Anyone who thinks the AI is lacking needs to try Elite so they can be silenced. This game is amazing. This might be my favorite FPS of all time and that is saying alot since I played so many.

Not from what I can see. Obviously the aerial bots spawn thingie blinks and that CAN be shot away (but you can't blow it up)
