So, motherh is back from holiday, kicking ass and taking names:

We found a bug a little late in testing that needed to be fixed, so had to find it, fix it and start the submission process again. Anything we give out to the public has to be tested to a certain degree of quality and any change you make to that package means testing has to start from the beginning, even if you only added a full-stop somewhere. The patch is fine now and we're looking to release it this week still. of course we would have liked to have had it out already when promised, but I think most of you will agree that you'd rather want a clean patch, than us releasing it, finding the problem after release and scrambling to release a patch on top of that.

So currently looking at a release for Thursday. Will confirm that as we get closer though and nothing else is found. Oh and, nice to be back!

It was close though, my bad for losing that spawn, but then the other guy kept putting spawns up top that was in the middle facing the right side for some reason, maybe he didn't turn completely when he threw that spawn. We did pretty well for the most part.

The patch is live and the required server update is being done now to coincide with the patch, meaning the servers are down and thus the game stats will not be visible on www.killzone.com. Should all be go in an hour, but might be more like 2, knowing how long these things usually take. Going to go monitor the progress.

1.27 Impressions (Skirmish mode, servers still down)

-High Precision controls:

HOLY SHIT!! well done Guerrilla! the dead zone has been tweaked so now you can track enemies even when they're running and small corrections to aim for the head are much easier now, the sense of "weight" is still there so the game still feels Killzone with the new controls, I can assure everyone will be using them from now on.

-Spawn invincibility

couldn't test it, tried to camp some spawns but GG probably tweaked the AI because bots weren't spawning there unless I turned my back to the spawns

-Air bots

much more aggressive now, watch out for them in maps like PR/SM

-Assault

well, 50% less armor, that's all

I concur... just a shame it took this long.

Well, also, energy doesn't regenerate completely (plus some) either.

As for the controls, they totally removed the deadzone basically. As soon as the stick moves, so does the aim reticule. Had to tone down the sensitivity to compensate a bit the higher responsiveness. I like it. I feel more badass than ever (against bots at least :D)

Well, I'm just talking the looks. Coming from Uncharted 2 Beta, I'm still immensely impressed by the visuals (and sound).

Uncharted 2 beta is glorious, but maps are way too small, I've been playing a lot of U2b too and going back to KZ2 this morning on Salamun Market and PR was like holy shit this is what I call a map...
 
not sure what to think about new controls, i have no problem killing guys with the old settings but im sure high precision will become the new standard so i think i might have to switch.

also what happened to the server info thats supposed to be in the patch, couldnt find anything like it.

updated servers will be up shortly, then we'll find about the new server info and "party system" features

I don't think there's anything like that planned at the moment, but you never know...
