HARNEY COUNTY, Ore. — KATU News has learned the leader of the armed occupation at Malheur Wildlife Refuge - Ammon Bundy - has been arrested, along with at least eight other individuals Tuesday evening.

Officials said it all began with a traffic stop while Bundy and some of his followers were en route to a community meeting in John Day, about 70 miles away.

Shots were fired after FBI agents, Oregon State troopers and other law enforcement agencies made the stop. CNN reports its unclear who fired first.

Details of the arrest remain unknown, but charges are pending related to the group's 25-day takeover of the wildlife refuge.

Talk about a load of fucking idiots. Taking regular breaks from their "occupation" to drive 70 miles and eat at restaurants (and stay at hotels as well from reports I've heard).

Next time you want to be terrorists step your fucking game up losers. Enjoy prison.

These occupiers apparently forgot about the occupying part

Golly, there must be a lot of traffic in that wildlife refuge they're never leaving until the tyrannical government gives in to their demands.

They've been regularly commuting to town, one guy got arrested because he had a vehicle stolen from the refuge, these guys are not only idiots but also amateurs.

Details of Bundy’s detention are still slowly making their way to the public, but Santilli claims that two people have been shot. He is currently waiting outside the hospital to identify them.

What the, is that normal to lockdown a hospital for one suspect?

I'm surprised as well, especially as there is mention of Feds meeting the helicopter there and once it returns to Bend. Could be that a federal officer was injured, or maybe they are being extra cautious with one of the militia members? I honestly don't know.

Man, this sounds like some bad comedy. I don't understand why the police didn't lock their whole building down

If they were willing to shoot at police from a traffic stop, storming the compound would have logically been disastrous.
