Why does everyone seem to want 100 million LoL fans to give millions of dollars to 5 players? I'd rather the fans buy skins and things to support the actual developer.
I think it was, presumably so people who don't follow either could get an at a glance indicator of comparative size.
I really don't think it was intended as a trigger for DOTA players to read it as "HAHA YOUR GAME IS SHIT AND LESS POPULAR COME AT ME BRO LOL 4 LYFE" yet here we are.

It would be incredibly naive to think that wouldn't happen. It's like posting a thread "Knack sold 5 million copies, Super Mario 3D World only 2m*" and don't expect it to be a Nintendo vs Sony thread.

i wonder the same thing every time prizepools get mentioned
like i understand wanting to help the pro scene, but then why not just up the base salaries of ALL teams and then the whole scene prospers, not the top 5 players
