I suspect ranked team builder will actually make the game harder for me to get out of Silver V since people may have the roles they're best at. D:

if they do ranked teambuilder they should probably just replace all queues with teambuilder, draft, blind, etc.

yeah, sometimes we feel like "filling", but it's a small price to pay imo

It should indeed raise the quality of the games since everyone gets their main.

thats one thing i was thinking about. i read a few people elsewhere saying "oh gg itll be so easy if i get my role every time" not considering the fact that your enemy probably got the role they wanted, too.

it's obvious in soloq right now when your opponent isn't in his primary (and strongest) role, either they'll just die a lot or play so safe that it's a 100% farm lane

It would really shake up the games quite a bit. I expect the games to get more difficult all the way around.

I'm up for it. Would be fun.

I'm sure they'll have a multi-role queue or even a "fill" role as well. I expect many people to just look for the fastest game possible.

Add the ability to queue up for multiple roles - like a checklist - and bam
"top mid jungle pref", sounds perfect.

I guess it's awful that I'm sad about the difficulty of the game going up, but I guess I feel like if I'm winning 30% of bronze games with easy/strong champions, what chance do I have when they get HARDER? I've won some more recently, but that could just be luck.

More than allowing people to pick their mains, it's going to make standard ranked so much better because it will keep people who only play one role from queuing up and turning champion select into a clown show because they're 4th pick and only play mid. Now if you're comfortable with multiple roles you can queue up with others who are as well. Should make for less fighting in champ select and more confident teams.

Yes, but now specialists will be stronger than generalists.

It sounds interesting, I just hope it doesn't effect queue times too much now due to splitting the ranked pool into two parts.

That's the thing. I don't think they can have two different pools. It would have to be the ONLY ranked queue. There's a few reasons:

1) diluting the available players pool as you pointed out. If people didn't embrace the "teambuilder" ranked then it would be dead in the water

2) you wouldn't be able to put normal queue against teambuilder queue teams. Talk about unbalanced when one team is hand picked everyone gets their role. And if they attempted to split the player base then they'd end up with a lot longer queue times again.

3) Would they have multiple ladders? A teambuilder one and a normal draft ranked? Again with diluting the pool.

All the diluting arguments may not be an issue in silver where there's eleventy million players at any given time but plat and above will start to get very shitty. Riot wouldn't want to alienate their most dedicated players.

I think it would be perfectly acceptable to replace the ranked draft with the role selection teambuilder thing. As long as you can select multiple roles and discard the idea of a "captain" then it's all good.

Had a nice game as Morde, our mid Ori did really well despite only ever getting 3 kills (our thresh got 4). We messed up a few times but no one raged, eventually we got baron, rushed mid and got the win. Course they got all the kills before I could get there lol.
Regardless was a nice relaxing match somewhat.

i still don't get how ad fizz works

is he kind of a bruiser you pick cos he can go invulnerable every 8s or something?

His Passive on hit is annoying if your character can't dish out damage to compensate.

How would the pick order go though? Fixed, random, same for both teams? You could have people flaming your mid choice because the other mid just counter-picked you hard. Or if the order is random, you could have an off-meta/swap comp where you don't know who the jungler/mid/top is.

I'm guessing it'd be just like regular ranked matches but with everyone's role locked in first. Pick order would be random as usual. And no champ swaps.

As long as you only play those handful of champions you're good.

Don't be like "hey, I feel like playing Vlad today after not touching him in years" like I used to do.

If I want to really switch things up and play a champ that I haven't touched in a long time I just do it in teambuilder. I would never pull that move in ranked.

Same. I get bored of champs quickly and move on to something else. Gotta learn to stick with one guy for longer.
Or just rotate a set of champs in each role so you don't get bored. I have Swain, Brand, and Galio in my current roster for mid in Ranked games.

Maybe that's part of my problem. I like to play more than a handful of champs.

Something like this is fine. You don't need to go full one trick pony, but even just focusing on 3-5 champs or so is often more efficient than switching a lot.
It is very good to know most lane matchups, which is more time-consuming and difficult when you swap a lot.

Yeah I definitely have a few fallback champs for each role but I still want to play everything!

I don't know. I have more fun with the game that way and that's my ultimate goal with video games anyway.

All the tanky stuff + his Q dash + his E dodge lets his on-hit effects keep coming off CD. The on-hit from TF + the on-hit application from Q + the W effects of the extra onhit + Rend dot add up fast, and because he isn't relying on his E for damage he doesn't need to level it first + have mana problems from it. + the shark effect counts all damage from Fizz so AD isn't a detriment.

Plus even though it's called "AD" Fizz the damage is mixed so you can' really completely defend against it. Normal AP Fizz doesn't hit much harder and dies a lot faster. He still dies but he lasts long enough to get to whoever he wants without a lot of dedicated CC, which means the rest of his team can go to work.

I want to do this. I've been seeing it work, and it seems less gimmicky than something like AD Malzahar.

Wow. Poppy is beyond a terror when she is fed and you are the poor ADC. Our zed fed the living crap out of poppy who just proceeded to run me down over and over and over as jinx. She had 450 move speed to my 385 with her triforce to my zeal. So obnoxious.

what do you mean "tanky stuff"? like his passive?

also i see what you mean but why is ad fizz even worth playing? over someone like irelia or whatever

because irelia might be banned :3

Fizz's sticking power is almost equal to hers (maybe actually better) with his shark slow/knockup, Q dash, E disengage/reingage. His ability to build tanky and still do damage, but also AVOID damage is stellar.

Yea I probably have to just tone it back a bit. I've played 92 ranked games so far this season, and 30 different champions. I used to have this rule that I would play 3 champions in each lame. 1. My favorite champ in that role 2. That champ's counter 3. My counter's counter.

IDK, maybe I'll try to go back to some method like that. Or just pick like two or three champions per each role.
