Those figs don't look like Donald etc. they look like those Donald/Mickey/... impersonators from Disneyland. And why change Buzz' head from the Toy Story sets to this? Makes little sense.

There's actually a school of thought that they're supposed to be the park mascot costumes, hence the normal "human" faces for the human characters and moulded costume heads for the others.

I personally really like them because they look like actual minifig/Lego versions of those characters instead of the specialty moulded ones from earlier Toy Story sets made to look like the movie versions.

I would kill many many men for a splash mountain set

Magic Castle, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain Rail Road, the Tea Cups, Monorail, and bringing back the Electric Light Parade would all make for excellent sets with good play features.

I was gonna say Matterhorn because it's so iconic but the set itself would be pretty boring, just a mountain with a Yeti at the top and some track for the bobsleds.

It'd be cool if they did what Architecture is doing and make like micro-builds of each land with 3-4 iconic rides. The problem is some of the iconic rides don't really have... iconic holders? Outsides? Like how could they do Pirates of the Caribbean? Riverboat Cruise they could do the boat, and then the Haunted Mansion and Pirates but... I don't know how they'd represent Pirates in microbuild form.

Oh and they have to be based on the superior WDW park!

Imagine Cinderellas castle with a minifigure version of the partners statue in front!

Oh my god. Bronze Walt minifig? They'd have to give Mickey kids legs, or make Walt brick-built. But I would buy it without hesitation if they did that, good gravy.

I'm in WDW for the next 2 weeks. How appropriate!

We have 2 weeks Booked for August but moving it to next August as we have an 8 week old and we thought 18 months would be better than 6 to take her. We took Arlo to Disneyland Paris around 18 months and WDW when he was 3 and loved both.

Where you staying? Going to try legoland?

I had to laugh because I literally just pulled my two I ordered from the mailbox not 2 hours ago. First impressions were they looked pretty darn good. The printing was good, the clutch on mine were pretty good too. Daredevil looks great. I like the trenchcoat on the Punisher fig. They will fit in well into my superhero display. For like, I think it was less than $3 for both figs its not an investment just something to fill your display. I would normally say you will never see a Punisher fig from Lego but we have gotten Deadpool and Deadshot figs. On the other hand they don't seem interested in making sets based on the live action TV shows so they both seem longshots to get in the future. Boy I would love a Longshot fig.

So I will admit I laughed when the Angry Birds sets got announced but I gotta say this Piggy Pirate Ship set is really tempting to me.

Brick Show Piggy Ship review

Now you've got me looking at all those figs from that seller. Multiple Deadpool figs, Red Hood, Bizarro...mannnnnn. And Black Mask. I never knew I wanted a minifig of him so bad.

You've led me down a dark path, brother.

There's a great DD and a few not so great Punishers. I think my Punisher is a combination of 3 different knock offs.

I'm on vacation for the next 2 weeks. Msg me your address and I'll send you a free DD when I get back. I think I have 6 of them.

Edit: if you live in the us, that is.

This is the DD I have. Based on the Netflix show.

Holy cow. PM'd you about the offer. As an aside, that Daredevil looks fantastic.

Boss Doggie

all my loli wolf companions are so moe
just in case I wouldn't be able to grab Detective's Office this sunday, is the Slave I a good alternative? Been eyeing it. Is building it fun and not frustrating like say, the Tumbler?

How big is it anyway as a finished product? As big as the modulars?

We're staying on campus at the Caribbean Beach Resort. We have 12 days booked + park hoppers for the whole family. It will be my wife and I plus our 7 & 9yr old girls. The entire trip is a surprise for my girls. They have absolutely no idea. We're flying out of Chicago and it will also be their first time on a plane as well. Everyone also got new luggage, 2 weeks worth of new clothes, and a couple pair of new shoes, and a bunch of other nonessential essentials. That was not really in my head while budgeting out this vacation, lol.

Honestly, Legoland is not a priority. At least not for shopping anyway. I can order anything online cheaper, have it shipped to my door, and not have to lug it around while on vacation. So if we pop in it will just be to see the sights a bit. I do the same thing when I go to PAX and comic cons.

My wife is so excited that it's been difficult to keep her from spoiling the secret trip, lol. I took a few days off before and a few days off when we get back for just the wife and I to have alone time too. We both took 3 weeks total vacation from work.

So, while I was at work, my wife dug into my collective to build something for a presentation she is giving at a conference in a few weeks.

This is just what I took when I got home, but she took lots of pictures showing mini figs properly applying house wrap and flashing a window for construction. It is really cool that she just out of nowhere did a MOC to use in a business presentation.

Yes, that is actual house wrap and flashing tape applied to the build. She said that doing that on such a tiny scale was harder than she imagined.

It was also weird to get a text from her while I was working asking if there were any knives for mini figures to use.

A disney world theme would be incredibly. My dream MOC is to build the Tower Of Terror but it'd be a lot of work and pieces...

Sorry, but I have to burst this bubble before it gets out of hand.

This is what AFOLs imagine a set will look like.

This is what AFOLs really get.

Kinda lame that Aladdin and Genie *both* have the lamp. Would have been cool to have an Abu piece or the magic carpet with Aladdin, something else.

I'm not super into Disney, but I'll probably pick up about half of those.

Minifigure revealed. It's an exclusive this time. How do these Ninjas have so many different robes and armors. They focus more on fashion than fighting!

Darn you LEGO and your variants! Ninjago is one where I have to have all the ninja variants.
I've lost track of all the variants. They have soooo many. Seems like that is a techno armor variant which they had a Kai version in the Target cube thingy last year.

My favorite variant is the DX one with the dragons. Their latest one is pretty good. A bit busy though.

And yet, it is the best selling Lego set of 2015 :(

Which only reinforces the notion that people actually WANT their sets to look like the second pic, so naturally, this is what we will KEEP getting :(

edit: as time goes on, with a smaller piece count and a higher price tag of course ;)

That completely trans blue castle looks horrible, would stick together like crazy, and has no play value. As always, afols tend to forget that these things are actually primarily for kids...

Ordered bootlegs last night. Two different versions of normal Deadpool, White Deadpool, Bizarro, Black Mask, Red Arrow/Arsenal, Winter Soldier, and Punisher. I'll post pictures whenever they get here.

I know Bizarro and Winter Soldier both had official releases, but I doubt I'll get a set with them in it.

Though now that I think about it I will probably get that Civil War airport set that has him in it.

Let know about picture quality when you get them? I ordered some Star Wars bootlegs a while ago. 5 First Order Stormtroopers and 5 Clone Troopers to be exact. The FO Stormtroopers are near perfect copies, although the material is different to the touch and its white color is obviously cooler than lego's creamy white. The clone troopers though, 3 of them had terrible helmet prints. Got refunded for these:

Caved in and bought the Carbon-Freezing Chamber, looking forward to building it later on.

Also noticed the store still had a couple of UCS Slave 1's available. Still really want it and it is my birthday next month.....

Winter Soldier i can agree, but Bizarro? He didn't appear in any offical set, unless you mean some super exclusive Comic Con "set" :(

Build the first two bags of IS Tyderium. After bag two I notice a have three 'spares' of a small piece left, meaning I missed two.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

(Had to break apart a serious chunck of the build to place them, as everything was so interlocked)

And I am the one nagging to my wife that you should collect the pieces of the step before you start placing some when we build modulars together :')

LOL this happens to me as well with increasing frequency... i explain it to myself by thinking that as i get older i lose patience somehow to do everything by the book and instead think "yeah yeah i know where that piece is gonna go, let's get to the next step already" then later on i realize my mistake :(

Yeah I'll take pictures and post and all that.

I was looking at the reviews for all of them and almost all of them have at least a picture or two of the finished figure. Most looked good, although they turned me off from getting some Red Hood, Red Robin, and some special Batman and Iron Man figs.

One of the Deadpools I ordered seemed very iffy, with about half coming out really, really strange. The other half looked fantastic though so I figured I'd go for it.

Yeah, Bizarro was a super exclusive. So was Arsenal I think.

Yeah he was a comic con exclusive
. Looks like prices are pretty cheap on Bricklink though so maybe I should cancel the bootleg order.

Arsenal was an exclusive too but he's apparently not on Bricklink.

Oh hey, you guys.

I just started up some video reviews but I'm trying to do them from a different angle.

So I've created a LEGO review show hosted by a minifigure - he tests out different sets and reports back on what the experience is like. I try to make a little story out of it so its fun for kids as well (my kids like it..a.nd like helping me make em) but hopefully I'm showing off enough of the set for people interested in it to get a good idea of what its like.

BUt anyway, yeah - kind of inspired by 'Review' in a way I guess but...well...LEGO.

My first proper episode is him checking out the Battle on Takodana set which involves things falling on him constantly which let me make good use of the accident guy that just came out ;)

Its like really really low frame rate stopmotion! Its like a comic with a voice over essentially.

Can I post it in here or is that being too pushy? I dont really post much but I have checked this thread practically every day for the last few years so I feel like part of the community... :/

Cool idea. I'd love to see it.

Well, cool. One vote is enough for me.
I'm just starting off so ..yeah, it'll take me a while but I intend to be in for the long haul.

Here's the Battle on Takodana review

And my daughter and I followed that up with the Friends Heartlake Cupcake Cafe.

Feel free to skip through to get to the actual review. I get a bit self indulgenty (thats a word) sometimes ...which I will work on.

Cute videos, and it seems like your daughter is really enjoying it too. :)
Only real critique I would add is the audio gets very low or muffled a few times in them, making it hard to understand what is being said.

But keep up the great work. Those were fun.

So i was never into Chima sets BUT... this set here is a little gem as far as i am concerned :)

Those big Flame pieces it's using for Wings are just gorgeous!

I like the story and humor part. Nice use of "storyboarding" vs actual animation which would be a huge effort.

Curious if other people here have sig figs. I'd be very interested to see what anybody's sig fig looks like.

Looks like it's mating season based on that pose.

Sigh, and here i thought it was being displayed in a gracious, stoic pose, fit for the King of Birds :(

It's my favorite chima set. It currently just sits at the top of a bookshelf near my computer gracing us with its presence. Such a beautiful set.

LEGO Angry Birds at TRU today. I grabbed the two cheapest sets.

Trying to decide on an April 1st order for S@H though to get that Mr Freeze figure. I'm not sure I see it being the huge seller that Revan or Winter Soldier was, but, I could be wrong. It is an exclusive Superhero minifig, afterall.

Lovely we stayed there in 2014, beautiful resort but it's bloody massive!

Wish I was going back this year!
