My Dad mentions my friend from a long time ago, and my Mom says that she's probably a lesbian now because it's popular and she says that she's probably going to turn gay too! hahaha so fucking funny! She also said that there would probably not be any more children because everybody wants to be Gay now! What a fucking dinosaur. Of course, my Brother and Sister proceed to laugh at her hilarious joke too!
It's not what they say that gets to me. It's the fact that I don't have the balls to stand up and prove them wrong. I'm disappointed, I should have said something but I can't. It used to be that they were my Family and that I should try to just cope with their bullshit but at one point it starts feeling less like your Family and just people you live with. It sucks even more when one of them knows and yet they still shit out disgusting and outdated crap.
What was I thinking when I told my Mom? I don't know why the fuck I did that, because now I know what kind of person she can be it's just disappointing really.

It doesn't really matter to me as much anymore. Sure, I might get pissed off and frustated a few moments after she makes comments (Like my post above shows,) but that's it.

I'm sorry to hear that. However, as fucked up as it might sound, she's not the only one who thinks that people become gay because it's popular to be one; nor does that mean she's a dinosaur. I've just read an interview with a teacher from a high school and in the interview she said that she heard her pupils wishing they were gay because "it's cool to be gay now" or because it might "help their career [as a public person, i.e. actress, singer etc.]". I literally facepalmed when I read that. :/
I'm not trying to blame you, because I know it must have been hard for you, but you did gave your mom ammo when you told her that you're not really gay and were "just confused". Now she might really think that all gay people are simply "confused" and hence her stance and jokes on the matter.

Living in New Orleans, that is a very small subset of Mardi Gras actually is and is pretty much confined to Bourbon Street in the French Quarter where tourists do stupid shit like that because it's what they assume Mardi Gras is. Most don't even make it to an actual parade. If you try anything like that uptown where the locals are you will be arrested immediately.

Thanks for the replies guys, it really really means a lot to me. I already decided I need to get out of here. It's possible to get a job now even if I'm in high school as long as I have good grades which I didn't do last year because I was an idiot. I don't want to depend on them any longer, I need to do something and I'm determined to do whatever I can do because I'm tired of this shit, I feel like it might fuck me up if I don't do anything about it.

Because I believe masturbating to porn was hurting my performance and enjoyment with real guys.
