Not for this thread, and not for long. This message should be understood generally by all community threads; remember that most people inside a community also post in other threads on GAF, and the vast majority of all bans are going to happen outside the community, not inside.
I find people who are completely reasonable and nice in most areas of their lives will often have one little corner of their interests that makes them become very irrational. Sometimes that's politics, for instance. Neojubei, as another immediate exmaple, did not earn that tag for no reason.
Nobody is perfect, and we aren't trying to break up any communities. Historically, the few times we have tried to break up communities for being overtly hostile to everything else on GAF (some sections of sports-GAF being the best example of this in the past), we make it very clear and do not hide our desire to break the walls down.
There is at least some evidence that women whose partners orgasm inside them are happier than those who use protection, even when controlling for external variables.
Whether this is a chemical or psychological effect is unknown, whether it extends to homosexual relationships is as far as I know completely unstudied, and even whether it's real should be questioned, given how frequently psychology and sociology studies are overturned.

No, but I don't think it's very hard to understand either. If you want someone or something in you then it's kind of the next logical step even if the risk it poses should make it prohibitive.

There seems to be an air of ignorance after the 90s about AIDS/HIV, since they have dwindled to something that doesn't affect "young" gay people. In fact, most of new infections are not gay men, since that population is so small. However, it's out there, so you should be safe. If you're having sex, make sure you're doing it in the light, so you can see that the condom is on.
Personally, I would worry about other STDs, too, but it seems that people don't care. It's disgusting.

Hey, I appreciate this recommendation. This was the first I'd ever heard of Beau Travail. I watched it last night, and I was completely absorbed by its meditative mood and the rawness of the imagery and music. The final sequence was utterly striking. Probably one of the best movie endings of all time. I've been thinking about it all day.
This movie wasn't explicitly gay as I was lead to believe by other posts. Obviously there's a homoerotic element in the exercise scenes, and in Galoup's obsession with Sentain, but it was sort of latent, you know? I enjoyed how themes that were more candidly examined in Billy Budd were submerged here. The events were allowed to speak for themselves.
Anyway, beautiful film. Won't be for everyone, because it doesn't have a conventional plot propelled by dialog and direct exposition, but I found it powerful. Thanks.

I remember reading a ton of creepy forums when I was younger that horrified me. I had some weird friends when I was younger who were into 4chan and those blogs that had pictures of gross things (people who died in accidents, dead bodies, etc) if only for the shock factor of it all. They would show me all of these scary forums and stories over MSN, but one really stood out to me.
There was a whole forum devoted to gay people who trick people into sex without condoms and there was even a section for gay people who give diseases to other people through sex. People would talk about how they'd find virgins in the bar and take them home and fuck them without a condom, despite telling them otherwise. They'd give each other tips and experiences, and the more I read the more I realized how fucking scary some guys are. A lot of them were HIV positive too so they'd give it these guys and ruin their lives. They even went on and on about how it felt good to give them their disease. I was so fucking disgusted and I honestly think shit like that is part of the reason why I have personal space issues when it comes to guys.

I've been on the Internet since the early 90s and nothing shocks me anymore. I am pretty much immune to just about anything and everything.
And I know of the type of community you're talking about. There are some truly disturbed people in the world but you can't let that get in the way of making connections with people, although caution within certain situations is not a bad thing. There are lots of sneaky gays that will say just about anything to get what they want.
I'd like to think that these kind of people are easy to spot and that I can avoid them. That's why I always get a drink or something before I get it on because I want to be able to see the person in a social situation and see how they behave. I also always check to see if the condoms on, especially when I'm bottoming. Luckily no guys has ever stealthily removed it, if it happened, I'd probably punch a bitch.
