is there a term for the opposite of a power bottom? I've heard alley cat, except I'm not a slut. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm assertive enough to top, but in a daily non-sexual setting I can be a pretty dainty bitch.

"not insertive!"

Do you mean something like a passive top? (I made that up just now).

lol, being a top isn't about being assertive IMO.

Perhaps assertive wasn't really the right word. There's confidence and proactiveness to it that I feel I like I don't have. I can react and engage with people, but actually being the one to initiate things is another matter entirely.

Seriously? You're in a classroom environment! That's a perfect setup to engage someone in conversation because you're classmates. Turn around and asks him about the subject, ask him if he can help you with a particular problem, ask him if he remembers what assignment is due next week.

I do have notes that I lost due to a hardware failure on my computer.....
My class is literally nothing but 90 minutes of my Don Knotts-soundalike teacher lecturing in the most roundabout fashion. Thankfully it's a big class so he doesn't notice that much if you're talking.

Yeah, it's an... interesting phenomenon. And it's one of my totally scientific Facebook stalking factors. It's just very uncommon for a straight guy to downright worship Britney Spears or Lady Gaga, lol.

As you say, I'm not sure why the appeal is so strong. These pop acts are mostly about strong displays of female sexuality, which in theory would not be attractive to male gay guys? Is it a thing of admiration? Is it a matter of gay people being really into clubbing and these girls releasing mostly club anthems? :p
I kinda get the appeal of pop to most gay people, I'm casually into it, pop is one of the few music genres where women dominate and personally, a strong female displaying her sexuality is a thing of admiration since women are mostly shamed for being too sexual (just look at Miley Cyrus's reputation right now) and in a way it mirrors how gay people's sexuality has been shamed, so I really identify with that struggle, where our sexuality is looked down upon instead of celebrated and considered the norm like straight male sexuality is. At least that's how I look at it.

Also, this is the music I'm into

Miley Cyrus is trying waaaaay too hard, though. I'm really not a prude but all of these women are basically performing naked, rather similar songs about the same topics to boot. It's boring to me as an outsider, they're the gritty FPS of pop acts.

It's all a state of mind. lol, I've met more aggressive bottoms then I have tops.

Was actually just listening to Spinal Fluid Explosion Girl, nice taste. Have you heard Voltile Zen Girl and Sacred Spear Explosion Boy by the same composer? Other than that I've been listening to a lot of Kikuo and Mitchie M as of late...

Also, I agree with your previous statement.

just look at Miley Cyrus's reputation right now

I don't think Cyrus is shamed for being too sexual (although "trying to be" would be a better word in that case). She is shamed because her performance was awful and cringe worthy. Her costume (you really shouldn't wear those panties with that ass), her "twerking" (again, no ass - no twerking, the rule is pretty simple), her hairstyle, her song, that tounge thing she was doing - it was all pretty embarrassing. The "slut shaming" argument is weird considering that Lady Gaga was also performing during MTV Music Awards and she wasn't a prude either and yet no one is trying to shame her.

I agree that those are things Miley Cyrus was also shamed for but a big part of it was also her twerking, which is considered very sexual by a lot of people, and Lady Gaga wasn't shamed as much probably cuz Miley took most of the spotlight that night, but things have gotten better in general for women when it comes to sexuality as well as for gay people which was my main point.

oh hey, fellow Vocaloid fan!!!!!!!! nice to meet you! Yes, I've listened to those other two, Rerulili makes good music in general, , I think Sacred Spear Explosion Boy is the catchiest of the 3 songs and it's my favorite. I don't listen to a lot of Kikuo but I do like his songs, this one is my favorite by him. Mitchie M music is adorable! and his tuning is so realistic, he makes Miku sound fantastic!!!

I think my favorite P's at the moment are MikitoP, Neru, tohma (which retired for some reason *sobs) and as overplayed as he is, Jin (Not really a fan of KagePro but mostly like the songs he makes)

finally have someone on GAF I can talk to about Vocaloid!

Hello! Nice to meet you as well~
Sacred Spear Explosion Boy's also my favorite, so catchy and... well, lewd, but that just adds to it, heh. I've actually been listening to a cover of it a lot lately, by KanzentaiCell, here. His voice is really nice, I like the cover quite a bit.

I actually hadn't listened to that song by Kikuo yet, but, wow, it's really good! I love the jazziness of it. Kinda reminds me of Little Red Riding Hood's Wolf.

Mitchie does such a good job, I agree! His most recent song, Viva Viva Happy, is one of my favorites from him, probably, it's so happy and it makes me want to get moving. It's good walking/jogging music.

I also like those guys, they're great (although i didn't realise Tohma retired, which upsets me because I just barely discovered Magical Girl Eudaemonics the other day...)! I admit I'm a fan of Jin and the Kagerou Project, but that's probably due to my love of IA and "series" of songs, like Kemu's stuff.

And, I'm glad I have someone else to talk to, too! I have friends offline that like it, but they're more the "OMG MIKU IS SO CUTE I WANNA SMELL HER PANTIES" type than anything else...

That's... a very stereotypical way of thinking about metal music to be honest (one that I've been guilty of too once). There are a lot of sub-genres of metal. I really recommend you to travel through the map of metal. You can find there a lot of different types of music/songs - from trashy and shouty ones, where you barely can hear lyrics and the singer sounds as if he has a throat cancer, to very melodic ones with clean voices.

I don't listen to enough regular music as it is, though. I just don't care for most of it, really. I basically unconsciously ignore most music my ears happen to pick up unless it's something loud and obnoxious (or genuinely pleasant to my ears), hence me not liking the "screaming" metal music.

Definitely, I also thought because of my timid and passive personality I was a bottom, turns out I can't stand it, and I certainly favor more being a top.

I'm a passive guy and can do both positions just fine. Sometimes, though, I feel like I'm too polite during sex lol.

Although, it does annoy me a bit if I'm with someone who can only play one role or the other. I like switching it up sometimes.

Ahaha, I totally bypassed all the discussion about positions and such... I'd comment, but I've never gotten that far with anybody, yet 8D;;

I'm not a very dominant person, in personality or otherwise, but I do, like, being on top of someone. Like, the "big spoon" and stuff... But I don't actually see myself being in charge of anything in an intimate situation without it sounding totally unnatural... Hmmm...
I guess I'll find out when I find an actual partner. I have a hard time telling who's what, though, so I doubt that'll happen any time soon.

The only Pop music I like is J-Pop. Does that count?

Komm, susser Tod?

I actually like it lol

Daughter's album is so beautifully sad. Loved it!

What I've been exposed to has just sounded like a wall of cacophonous growling and slamming. It's really put me off.

There's significantly less grating subgenres, symphonic (Nightwish, Therion, Epica), Gothic (Type-O Negative, Tristania) and power metal (Blind Guardian, Rhapsody of Fire, Turisas) are good ones to try. Candlemass is also a good bet if you can stand how 80's its early (and best) work is.

The supergenre as a whole isn't for everybody, but it's a lot more diverse and nuanced than the brutality of what you've heard. You're going to want to stay away from stuff like Thrash, black or Death Metal unless you start to get used to gravel. I used to absolutely hate it, but it grew on me after awhile.

Yeah, I'm not really a metal fan tbh, generally with the stuff I do like there's a kind of structure or method to it that makes it interesting musically beyond just being noise. It's not really something I listen to often, though.

I'm not really a 'metal fan' at all, but as a casual listener basically all I can get into is black metal (well I guess I remember listening to like Motorhead as a teen if that counts,) everything else sounds kind of cheesy to me. Well a lot of black metal is cheesy too so idk.

Actually I guess I was exposed to a lot of noisy, awful, but good music in my 'formative years' because I used to think I was hardcore, Choking Victim/Leftover Crack were my favorite band at one point. But now my favorite punk band is like Blondie, if that even counts.

Motorhead is decided very much not black metal, lol (unless I misunderstood what you said, I'm kinda confused).

Thought my break up was going well, we decided we both wanted to stay friends and things were going very well, but after talking with him tonight all these feelings came back nooooooooooooo

Solo mocked me cuz I said I'd watch Fast and Furious 7-8-9 cuz of Lucas Black. Hes sexy and I don't care what people say. Plus his twangy accent and hes just adorable.

I wanted to post this pic but I'm not sure if it qualifies for NSFW. But I'll post it here cuz you're all nasty bitches.

Ugh I read that AMA thread on Reddit about a guy becoming HIV+ from a CL encounter and using protection. I seriously want to crawl into a ball. Apparently you can get it from semen even? I mean what the hell can you do as a gay man to never have to worry....fucking never have sex? It's so ridiculous and unfair that this stupid disease exists.

I feel like you might be confused on how STD's/STI's are transmitted.

CL? And yeah, STD/I means sexually transmitted, ie via semen.

Lately I haven't cared about my sexuality and almost said that I'm gay to everyone without even notice. I need to focus on not doing that.

I'm curious. How did you think STDs were transmitted if not via sexual fluids? Blood only? Eye contact? :p

Also, no, you should worry and get tested regularly if you have an active sex life. This doesn't mean living in perpetual panic, obviously.

How did you not know? I learned that in my Health Class last year and that class was mostly dick jokes and wanting to throw up when I saw the pictures of STDs.

I'm gonna ask gay GAF since not to stereotype but gays dress nice!

Should I wear a bow tie to a wedding or standard tie

You'd be better off asking in the Men's Fashion thread, tbh.

Anyway, are you in the wedding party? If so, what are the other guys wearing? You'll want to try and match them in any case. If you're not in the wedding party, I suppose it doesn't really matter. What do the ties look like?
