Then I came across General Blue from Dragon Ball who is categorized as gay. Huh, I didn't remember that...

My favourite LGBT character in anime is still Bon Clay though, especially in the Impel Down Arc.

I think the one thing anyone should take away from this documentary is that everybody in the big queer acronym had it really rough before stonewall; again, I can't even imagine being who I am today in a pre-stonewall world. I probably would've been lobotomized or something.

Speaking of queer documentaries, for any of you who haven't seen it you should track down "The Celluloid Closet".
It's a great little HBO documentary about the history of LGBT people in film.
Here's a clip from it that discusses the generic camp gay/sissy character, and how it goes all the way back to the early 20th century (it actually goes further back than that, but that's neither here nor there)
