It wouldn't be surprising if all modes had a dynamic resolution and the pro plays them as a best case scenario.

The base was supposed to be 4k native iirc. But yeah, I wonder if no one bothered doing a proper comparison because they assumed they ran exactly the same way.

That's my point, people keep saying the Pro looks better when it doesn't.

The extreme zooming is so pitiful.
The only real difference is better LOD geometry in Kalm on the clock, watermelons and few items. That is clearly visible without zooming in like a fucking idiot.
I would like these improvements to ps5 because some of these lods are terrible

I would go with the 30fps quality mode. It's a game heavy on atmosphere and there are too many cut backs to the lighting in 60fps for my liking.

The reflections also got even worse than the already low quality found in quality mode.

It's a game that doesn't really need 60fps either. Combat consists of hitting blobby sacks of meat a few times and occasionally pressing circle to dodge obviously telegraphed vomit attacks. Not exactly Ninja Gaiden.

Yeah I noticed that different in my playthrough but it's literally the only interior section that has such a stark difference.

I went back and forth on everything else and it looked the same, just choppier. Sure, lighting is improved a bit, but not massively.

I much preferred the fluidity of 60 fps, and I'm not a stickler for 60 fps

Eh, nah. TGO generally means well. Just had higher expectations. I dig it, but at the same time, would exercise caution as PSSR is still in it's "growth phase". It's provided good enough results to prove its worth, but I get why it may take time to impress him a bit more.

As for the screenshots, at least the one with Aerith's braid was on PS5 Pro's Graphics mode. This one:

Even in games like Star Wars Outlaws which supposedly have much worse image quality on PRO

in a static scene, PRO does look noticeably worse indeed

however in a moving scene AKA when you're actually 'playing'

PRO provides on par if not better image clarity vs PS5 30fps Quality mode

and the difference is even more drastic against the 60fps performance mode.

Yeah, FSR2/3 look good when you are standing still. It looks much worse during movement, where PSSR does much better.

But in motion that's all a shimmering fuzzy grain and isn't stable like the screen shot and losses fine detail the capture is representing.
Go switch between the two and see for yourself.
A still capture actually gives the Pro false advantage.

PS5 Quality Mode is blurry compared to PS5 Pro and its running at half the framerate. Pro is clear in motion and in stills, so if you are a sideshow weirdo who only takes screenshots you still lose.
