Table Tennis:

Chuang anihilated Crisan 4-0, Crisan looked like he wasn't even trying, some good rallies though.
Up next is the last bracket with westerners in it Ovtcharov (GER) vs Maze (DEN)

Do you guys think there's any chance the IOC will retroactively vacate Phelps' medals from Beijing, or at least move them to silver? There's no way there could be this much of a drop off in quality; obviously there must have been other factors in play in 2008.

It's true , swimming is one of the few Olympic sports where you can participate and medal in at least 5-10 events thus inflating your medal count . That doesn't mean Phelps 18 medal feat is by any means a low bar
How many swimmers have actually done that? O wait......

Fencing final is soooo good.

Three out of the four final fencers have been left-handed. Is there a competitive advantage to this, such as usually fighting right-handed opponents who aren't used to lefties?
Well, when you consider that almost half of the top fencers in the world are lefties, you can sort of say that. Reactions, movements, and space management are controlled by the same area of the brain in the lefty's case, so they react a little faster. The righty also has to adjust their movements and stuff to compensate for engaging in combat with a left-hander.

I also have to say that apparently it's hard to train lefties. If you're a righty and training a lefty, then you have to mirror the technique and demonstrate it for the lefty to grasp.

Just finished watching Gymnastics comp. Really impressed by the Americans they won 3/4 of the apparatus'. Domination. Could easily win a bunch of medals in the event finals. Almost all the girls could have contended for a vault medal but most didn't even try to qualify for the event for some reason.

They will probably do it the same time they ban all the Chinese golds for the past 10 years for cheating.

First table tennis game ended very quickly. Chinese Taipai defeated Romania in 4 straight sets. Only have Denmark Vs Germany left and that's it. I bet this one lasts longer.

Fuck yeah Lei. Great stuff.

That final moment of silence before the referee decided was intense, haha.

I don't agree with that 13-13 call, it looked to me like the Egyptian started his attack first. But then again, I have no formal training in officiating a fencing match. Great match all around.
