Every sport has rules, pass the baton in a relay race outside of the box you get dq'd... How is this any different.

This is the sport they train for, it's not the judges fault they fucked up.

From all reports the replay doesn't show this so to be fucked over by a judges error that is irreversible is quite bullshit.

Man. These images don't get any better :(
Then stop looking at them.

Is this essentially the "LOL, didn't watch" post.

There was no clear evidence shown. I think that is the issue, well and that there are no appeals.

From what I can tell the font wheel can't be in front of the other riders back wheel at the marker (that's how it was explained, I don't know if it's accurate).

the blurry red mark just off the track is the market I believe.

Just saw a recap of the JPN AZE boxing match. LOL at AZE winning that match. Thankfully the appeal went through and JPN advances.

WTF is wrong with Boxing?

But they aren't at the marker there. In the slow mo when they are at the marker they are aligned correctly.

I can't help but feel the germans were the 3rd best team there, but the other two did mess up so I guess...fair enough? Though I am not convinced by the replays for the chinese relegation at all.

My point is that they would probably have a better idea than you because they have access to much better equipment. Going off a fuzzy TV camera isn't really the best idea.
Judging by the monitor the refs were crowded around, I think they were looking at the same images...

The BBC commentators seem to say that it's the front wheel in front of the other front wheel, that's why their always showing the marker replay.

Everything.

Meanwhile, last September, BBC Newsnight presented evidence that Azerbaijan paid millions to an international boxing organization to ensure that two men from the country would win gold medals at the London Olympics, information dug up by Deadspin. The program found documents showing a $9 million bank transfer, funneled through Switzerland, to a boxing organization owned by AIBA, which overseas Olympic boxing.

Gabby Douglas makes history!

Last Tuesday, the American women became just the second US gymnastics squad to win team gold.

On Thursday, we saw a first.

Gabby Douglas became the first American woman to claim team and all-around gold in the same Olympics, completing her meteoric rise to the top of the sport.

Victoria Komova, whose Russian team finished second to the Americans in the team competition, was second best again – .259 points behind Douglas’ total of 62.232.

Russia’s Aliiya Mustafina and U.S.’ Alexandra Raisman finished tied for third, but Mustafina was awarded the bronze based on execution.

It was the third straight Olympics in which an American has won the women’s all-around title.

Douglas follows in the footsteps of Nastia Liukin (2008) and Carly Patterson (2004).

She is also the first African-American woman to win all-around gold.

Douglas was far less known than Jordyn Wieber, the reigning world and national champion in the all-around, who was widely considered the Americans’ best hope at all-around gold.

But Douglas defeated Wieber at Olympic Trials, then nudged her out of a spot in the Olympic all-around competition.

Now she takes the spot that many thought was Wieber’s to lose – that of Olympic all-around
