If the image is a single colour I should not need to change the tolerance. What you're doing is changing it so it overwrites the whole image.

Try this instead, make a new single colour image and then paint one corner a different colour. Now try and use the paint bucket to change the original coloured area to something else. You'll get the same artifact in the three un-recoloured corners unless you drag out to change the tolerance enough to also overwrite the corner whose colour you've changed.

Smooth edges is broken. It shouldn't be finding non-existant edges in a solid-colour image.

Guys is there a video app (the afore mentioned MplayerX perhaps?) which allows you to organise a video library a la iTunes?
It's crazy how I have very specific organisation for my music and photos whilst my video files are just placed in random folders.
VLC 'seems' to have a library feature but it frequently vanishes when closing and opening the app and can be difficult to return to when playing a file fullscreen.

xbmc, boxee, plex... lots of options

Loving the develop menu option on safari right now. I have it displaying webpages as if I was browsing via iPad. I know this isn't new but it's perfect for this crazy slow airplane wifi. The GAF mobile site loads way way faster.

I agree with this. There's nothing in those corners for it to be doing this. Even Photoshop and every other painting program ever made with smoothing.

Anyone having issues accessing iTunes and/or updating apps in the last few days?

I've been unable to do much for days now. It wouldn't even accept my account credentials until today.

Is there native built-in spring-to-top functionality for Safari yet?

Also, dictation keeps asking me to enable it even though I check the box every time to not ask me again. Is there any remedy for this?

I suppose so, but it's hardly a glitch or something that can't be easily worked around through an alternative method. I've actually gotten so used to it that i've found myself using it to my advantage. :p

But I wouldn't mind that being fixed. Can't wait to see what the new update will bring. Staying on the topic of Pixelmator, how ridiculous is it that i've only just now realized I could re-order my tools like this;

I've been using the default layout since forever now. :lol

Has anyone noticed that the instant-on problem with MBAs that Lion seemed to fix is no longer running smoothly? To be more clear, prior to the update my late-2011 MBA would hesitate quite a bit after bringing it after sleep, and this has just started to happen again.

Is there a way to easily revert from Mountain Lion to Lion without having to do a full disk wipe? If I have to start over and load a backup, I'll do it (anything to get this POS off my system), but I would rather not if I can avoid it. This is the worst version of OSX I have ever used. Everything is so much slower.

Or is there a system update coming in the VERY near future that I should wait for before I go to the trouble?

Pixelmator 2.1 is out! Just $15 now in the app store only. How weird, I was just randomly talking about them finally updating it and here it is. New;

• Retina-Ready: Both Pixelmator’s friendly user interface and its powerful image editing engine are now optimized for the Retina display.
• iCloud: Built right into the app and keeps your Pixelmator work up to date across all your Macs.
• Effects Browser: The best and the most fun way to browse: instantly preview and quickly apply special effects or add color adjustments to images.
• New Effects: Use the new Vintage, Miniaturize, Black and White, Rain, and Snow effects.
• Alignment Guides: Quickly position, align, and evenly distribute objects in your Pixelmator compositions with pinpoint accuracy.
• OS X Mountain Lion Support: Pixelmator takes full advantage of all the latest and greatest technologies.
• And much more.

The better alignment tools and browser window for effects (rather than just menu bar lists) are most welcomed. iCloud is probably going to get use out of me with this as well.

Have started using safari for the first time as have only ever used Chrome previously (but now seems to run like a dog on my mac)

Other browsers seem to remember that on gaf I prefer it zoomed in a bit as the text appears very small on default but Safari doesn't seem to remember and each time goes back to the default, is there any trick to this?

Could one of you share me his Magic Mouse speed/acceleration settings (system settings + BTT or other tools)? My Razer works pretty well (and the trackpad too, of course), but the acceleration of the MM is horrible. For moving the cursor over short distances, it's nearly unusable.
And is there a way to set the natural scrolling only for the MM and the trackpad, but not normal mice?

it stutters/lags every few seconds and ultimately closed the feature then send me back to the apple tv main menu afterward. same thing with airplay mirroring on my ipad.

What HW are you running? Airplay mirroring worked perfectly on my 2011 MBP and I pushed it by running 4 different media players simultaneously (VLC/QTX/QT7/MplayerX).
Everything was smooth except for switching window focus for audio. That had a moment of delay, but continued fine from there.

So I just updated to Pixelmator 2.1 and now everytime I open it, it prompts me with the stupid iCloud interface.

I don't want this, I just want it to open the program. Any help?

I have mine on the side above my layers and effects windows to save space on the side. I do wish you could dock this stuff though.

Using the trial right now.

Wait is that Pixelmator a free update for those of us with 2.0 or do we have to pay for it? Not near my Mac so can't check the app store atm. I'm gonna be angry if it isn't free considering I just bought 2.0 two weeks ago.

It's free.

It'll most likely be free till 3.0

The fonts on my Mac are totally fucked up, I installed like 20,000 fonts, removed them due to conflicts and such, reinstalled the font packages from the Mac OS X disc and I'm still getting conflicts. Now iTunes looks like this

Google with the weird font

Apple menu draws empty box

Plus everything is taking ages to render. Solutions? I've googled and there seems to be a whole loads of font problems and solutions, anyone dealt with something like this? Really hate the way Mac complicates fonts.

What is HW? I'm using a 2012 MacBook air 4gb rams that I bought recently and the apple tv is the 3rd generation that I just got on amazon for 90 dollars.

HW = hardware.

Airplay mirroring works on Intel quicksync which your HD4000 GPU supports very well.
You shouldn't have any problems. Perhaps try an AirParrot trial and see if performance is different.

I'm looking for a program that can record and graph system temperatures over time. Alas, so far I've only been able to find monitoring programs, but nothing that can log data. Any suggestions, Mac-GAF?

Edit: Temperature Monitor looks like it'll work.

So I searched for quite a bit. ANyone have any idea how the hell I get Minecraft to run on my macbook Air running 10.8.

It's not a gatekeeper issue. Not only do I not have that on, but it's a damaged error message, not a security message you get with gatekeeper.

ARGGGGGGGGGG still cannot get Boot Camp installed on my Macbook. I used Bootcamp Utility to make the USB install disk but the computer doesn't recognize it when I try to install. I installed rEFIt to try, but it gives me an error every time :(

Also my computer just shut down on me a few times. Once when I was deleting files from my second harddrive, and another time when I was partitioning that harddrive with BootCamp utility. Could I have a Logic Board problem?

Have you tried opening your fontbook to see what's going on? And how did you install fonts from the mac os x disc?

Do you have Java installed?

Welcome back mescaline.

So I just realized something. I used to be able to access a specific folder on my MBP via my iPhone using a specific url (sentrys-macbook-pro.local). It would access the 'Sites' folder in my MBP user. I can no longer do this, and the pane I remember in the sharing settings is no longer there. I thought it was 'file sharing' but that's only for users on the same computer I guess.

Any way I could get this feature back? It was an excellent way to locally access pics, saved sites, etc on my phone.

Looks like it's gone. #7 in this list: http://arstechnica.com/apple/2012/0...ved-from-mountain-lion-that-we-miss-the-most/

Perhaps browse through the comments of that thread and see if anyone has a work-around.

Help please!

My new MacBook arrived today. I just finished Migration Assistant but on my new MacBook it says
"Setup Assistant wants to use the "com.apple.smig" keychain.
Please enter the keychain password"

My old MacBook says

"Transferring your time zone setting
Less than a minute remaining"

So I'm completely stumped as to what this password is or how I'm supposed to find it in the middle of migration assistant?

EDIT: I just pressed cancel and that seemed to do the trick.

Yeah, so Pixelmator's paint bucket fill tool really is fucked up. Pixelmator is USELESS for anyone trying to draw pixel by pixel. I can't even fill in a solid jagged edged area even with 0% tolerance. It just does not work!

Guess I'm sticking with Photoshop CS3 for now.

I'm the only one who hates the new way of 'Software Update'? Having it as a separated app was logical, including it into the App Store is beyond stupid.

I get you should check it for the App Store apps you purchase, but for the system (OS, etc) it should be separated.

Just installed Mountain Lion on my MacBook Pro a few hours ago (after upgrading to an SSD), and wow... this thing is not winning my favor. AIM account keeps going offline for no reason in Messages, Messages gives no easy way to set where archives should be stores, recording audio in QuickTime works absolutely stupidly now... this thing had better win me over soon, or I might just go back to Lion for now.

:/ Received my Air yesterday but only have the chance to play around with it later today.
I usually wait for the first two upgrades until making the jump but 12% student discount where just to tempting. Hope I'll like ML coming form SL...

I'm really more a fan of MPlayer OSX Extended than I am MPlayerX. I seem to get better and more stable results from it. So, consider that another app to check out.

I completely hard wiped my Macbook Pro and can't find my OS installation disk.

The big problem is that I can't access the App Store to buy a copy of Mountain Lion (can't do it through the OSX Utilities or Safari) and Apple doesn't sell a hard disc copy.

Suggestions?
