Now I can't use anything flash.. the link doesn't work for me, does it just lead to a normal .dmg download? If so, could anyone rehost that for me?
Fucking flash, always causing me problems. :|
10.8.2's Facebook support is lovely, but the Mountain Lion Facebook beta had support for reflecting your Facebook event calendar in the Calendar app. No longer the case, apparently. Really hope that feature doesn't get yanked from iOS 6.
No more 500 MB point releases? So good.
This happened to me as well today. It went away on its on though. I installed the latest OS X update an restarted my computer and the flash thing prompt was gone. Not sure if it was the update or just a restart that did it.This message came out of nowhere;

So if I buy an Apple TV, I can AirPlay any video from my Mac to my HDTV? Any video format? Online streams?
How's the quality? Does video stutter?
Also, is there a way to hook up like four hard drives to my Mac? Just for storing media. Or do I have to grab a NAS?
I was originally thinking of buying an NAS and using it with my HTPC. But if I can use an AppleTV and a bunch of hard drives with my Mac, cool. That's cheaper.
Thank you!! Just in time as well.
Yeah, I still haven't restarted to complete the updates and it came up on its own anyhow. Speaking of restarting, I rarely ever do it. I feel sorry for my MBP and what I put it through. :lolThis happened to me as well today. It went away on its on though. I've only used AirParrot (unofficial AirPlay) to stream stuff from my iMac to my apple tv and the quality is not great. I don't really use it ever. Guess it's decent for browsing safari and little OS things but for media its not ideal. The official airplay may do something different that AirParrot doesn't and look better but I can't say personally as I haven't tried it.Bboy AJ said:Alright, I did a bunch of googling. From what I've read, the quality will suck. I guess I need to buy a Mac Mini or something and hook it up to a bunch of hard drives.

.I would question why you want to connect 4 separate drives when 4TB drives are not exactly expensive or rare. Do you really have 10+TB of media that must be instantly accessible?.
Anyway, thanks for the airplay impressions. Most say the system won't work so well for higher quality videos. I'll give it a shot. Can't hurt to try it out. Thanks.
Yeah, I myself have 12GB connected to my Mac mini in an assortment of 1, 2 and 3TB drives I purchased over time and keep all my media and backups of that media on. (Basically 6GB+6GB backup) If I could replace all of it with two single 6-10TB drives cheaply I would. Especially if they were something other than USB 2.0. (I have a USB hub with 7 ports. 6 of them used by the HDD's.)Yes, of course. When you're running an HTPC like system, you're not going to want to fumble with swapping hdds.
Thanks. Waiting on your report.I watched a 2-hours concert at 1080p, AirMirrored, and it was great; no hiccups whatsoever. (13" 2012 Air, max specs)
Edit: I should mention that it was tested on a 720p TV. Will test it on the 1080p display and report back!

Just installed Mountain Lion. Is there any way to map a three-finger or four-finger up or down swipe to the "Show Desktop" command. I swear I had it that way in 10.7, but the only option in 10.8 is the thumb + 3 finger spread.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't possible on Lion without additional software like BTT. I wanted it that way because that's how I had it in Snow Leopard, but in the end I gave up and got used to the spread.Just installed Mountain Lion. Sounds like a logic board issue - like the video card isn't getting enough juice. This happened with my MBP, and I had to get it repaired.Late 2010 model here... my display randomly goes out and it automatically restarts the system. It never happened on snow leopard but it did start on lion (w/ no auto-reboot). the auto reboot is nice but this isnt right... i would like to at least get a fix for this so i can continue using this system until next year when i upgrade this computer.
Just map a button like [fn] to show the desktop. It's less cumbersome than the spread.
Everytime I restart my computer, it still opens stuff that I closed before I restarted, and unticking the box that asks if I want to reopen windows does nothing.
What can I do to fix this, GAF?
Yeah go to system prefs and double check your user login items. Make sure nothing is there. Some apps have their own preferences to open on startup too. Check all that. All I can think of.Everytime I restart my computer, it still opens stuff that I closed before I restarted, and unticking the box that asks if I want to reopen windows does nothing.

After arguing with Apple for three months, I decide to stop updating MPlayerX in Mac App Store.
As some of you may know, from 1st, June, every application in Mac App Store have to adopt Sandboxing for releasing a new version. Sandboxing, although said to be a good protection from the malware, brings too many troubles to the applications themselves. I have made 6 builds trying to make MPlayerX pass Apple's review and I have explained why some privileges are so important for MPlayerX to achieve this and that features, But the answer is NO, NO, NO, NO, NO and NO.
MPlayerX will lose so many features if it adopted Sandboxing, it could not load the subtitle automatically, it could not play the next episode for you automatically, it could not save the snapshots to the place where you want to, etc. Without those features, MPlayerX were just another lame Quicktime X, which I could not accept.
Mac App Store is a great channel to let more guys get to know MPlayerX, but there are so many useful features waiting to be implemented, and I don't think I should waste more time on this.
MPlayerX added another auto-updating mechanism from 1.0.16.
Besides of the MAS-free 1.0.16, MPlayerX will make its best to release the last MAS version, which is 1.0.15. It will be a limited-function version, and will be released shortly, I hope.
Does Messages quit automatically after being idle for a certain period of time? For the beta on Lion I used to just leave the app open all the time, but ever since I upgraded I'll come back to it after like 30 minutes and it will have quit itself.

Is not having to enter your apple ID password for updates to software on Mac App Store new?
I think I read something like that on the iOS side not too long ago, but it should only concern free apps.
Every time i turn my computer on, the volume is set to max, no matter where it was when i turned it off. The volume level used to stay the same in Snow Leopard.
Any ideas?
I think volume kept in PRAM?
Try resetting that. Something like hold command+opt+P+R while booting until you hear the second chime (google it).
