Mafia: The Old Country – 9 Minutes of Exclusive Gameplay | IGN First

It looks good but some textures look rough

Nice to see they've still kept the little animated hop the main character makes after shooting their gun and moving forward. It's a minor thing, but I've loved it since M3.

Hmm, not sure yet. It's the usual sneaking, throw a coin to distract folks stuff. Cool I guess, not necessarily really a Mafia thing.

Honestly hope there won't be too many sneaking missions.

Some yapping, some walking, some shitty stealth and the usual TPS shooting with cover.

I've played this game at least 10 times already.

Ehhh.. Looks okay but it doesn't excite me. I'd rather see Vavra make another Mafia game, he's one of the few who can blend humor and seriousness in a videogame.

Looks super meh, cheap and boring. Can't believe that someone still trying to present their games with these stupidly primitive stealth sections

Hope

Looks cheap.

Stay

Graphically it looks like a game made for the ps4, and released between 2016 and 2019.

Out

I am rewatching it and honestly I really really hate with passion having to follow a fucking npc, its like the worst gameplay mechanic ever.

Ugh

Of

Looks like ass tbh

The

Gunplay and melee reminds me of a temu version of rdr2.😕

Fucking

Looks boring.

OT

Looks kinda meh to be honest, and I was really looking forward to it. Well, I will probably play it, but I don't expect too much.

The car is completely unaffected by the grenade explosion. At least a low effort texture change on the windshield to a cracked line would have been nice. Or maybe a little push to move the car back a few inches. But nothing?

Other than that, I enjoyed watching this. It's very X360-era, but that's not necessarily bad and if it has good pacing (difficult to tell, because they cut out scenes in this trailer) and if the story runs at a good speed with no lulls, this could end up being very fun.

When there's so much forced slow walking you need to fade to black to skip over it three times in the first 2 minutes of your curated 10 minutes gameplay showcase it's not really a good sign.
Other than the cool setting nothing about that looked particularly great. The story will have to be really good to carry this.

Pretty much exactly what I expected.

Hopefully it's not heavy on stealth. They probably wanted to showcase stealth and combat gameplay in the same video.

Some yapping, some turn-based combat, and the usual jrpg stuff that you've played a million times. Whats the difference between playing the same shooter, the same souls-like, etc. and this? Cmon dude, I know you're better than that. Whens the last time you played a similar game, story-focused, in Italy? It's not like we get mobster games every month, ever year, hell barely ever decade. Guess you won't be playing GTA 6 then?

It looks good enough to me. But I'm not much into mob stories myself.

Maybe it's nostalgia, but I like these 7th gen style games.

It's nothing groundbreaking, although the visuals look really good. I loved all Mafia games and this looks like i's cut from the same cloth so I will have a really good time with it, perfect for this price

JRPGs might have different gameplay mechanics between each other.
Shooters might have different gameplay mechanics like how Ultrakill has nothing at all to do with DUSK, for example.
Souls games all have different level design and challenges, you never know what's ahead of you when you start one of those games.

This Mafia game, at least judging by that trailer, has the most run of the mill gameplay I've already seen in a hundred games since the PS3 days with 0 originality. Imo the only thing the game has going for it is the setting and maybe the writing if it manages to be as good as the first game.

Also fuck off with the "I know you're better than that", way to disregard someone else's opinion.

I have 0 interest in that game. Maybe when they show some gameplay but nah, I bet it'll be the same as it's ever been just with prettier graphics.

It seems they made some dramatic moves with the camera while it was actual gameplay, that's not visible here. And the shooting looks better to me too in the first trailer.
Watching the shooting scene in the trailer and the 7:20 part in the gameplay video gave me a good laugh .

I'm not that impressed. Mafia 1 & 2 still stands out for me. This one is so familiar to many similar games released in the past 5 years, while the animation and mechanics reminds me of Mafia 3 a lot.
