Yeah well magic is really good when they don't have to write characters or dialogue either.I really wish they'd get sanderson for the lore behind a set just once. He's really good at that when he doesn't have to write dialogue or character growth.

he does a lot more groundwork for each setting more than is necessary writing fiction, the rules are eplained intricately where in magic they mostly do a "here they use aether for magic" "dragons taught them morph" and such.A Sanderson Plane would be an interesting concept; his own Cosmere has a fair few passing similarities to the Magic multiverse as is.
How much play would Vindicate see in Modern?
Not that much, I imagine. In practice it's Maelstrom Pulse but without the sometimes useful rider. How much play would Vindicate see in Modern?
Here is my pool that went 4-0. BW vampires. Still not sure if the deck is good or I got lucky.

A metric shit ton.How much play would Vindicate see in Modern?
You cast it as a T2 stone rain all the time. Not that much, I imagine. In practice it's Maelstrom Pulse but without the sometimes useful rider.
Also Treasure Map rules.
New player here. Just got back from Ixalan Prerelease. This was basically the first time I ever played Magic outside of last week's Open House. I actually manged to win a couple games and beat my second opponent! Drafted a red/white Dinosaur deck.
Here's my haul of rares.
Sanguine Sacrament
Marvren Fein, Dusk Apostle
Ashes of the Abhorrent
Settle the Wreckage
Herald of Secret Streams
Rampaging Ferocidon
Foil Emperor's Vanguard (did everybody get this? it was separate from the packs and has a date stamped on it)
Drowned Catacomb
Fell Flagship
Regisaur Alpha
everyone gets a random rare from the set with a stamp and foiled that you are allowed to play with. Yikes your rares weren't great a sealed pool is much more resting on commons and uncommons though unless you open some bombs. Regisaur Alpha could be such a bomb OTOH.
who cares about stone rainA metric shit ton.

tried a merfolk deck despite a much stronger BR pool because i got kopala as my promo. you either need pure tribal synergy or reliable buff spells to make it work, imo. only managed 2-2 with what i had.
flip cradle felt slow, but getting it online with waker of the wilds was a game ender. i don't know if there's another place for it in standard without tokens.
who cares about stone rain
Like seriously the ability to cast Stone Rain on Turn 2 in Abzan isn't crazy.
The question wasn't whether It would see play it was how much.Stone Rain is awesome T2 and 3 but a pretty shitty draw late game. Vindicate doesn't have that problem.
a 3/3 for 3 is already good in limited and with multiple upsides attached it's great.Yeah I was hoping to draft a Red/Green dinosaur deck when I unpacked the Regisaur Alpha but my curve worked better with Red/White and I didn't feel like I had the space to splash green.
The Rampaging Ferocidon did some work and Settle the Wreckage saved me for a turn, lol.

Sealed often asks you to splash quite agressively the more powerful a card you're splashing for the more jumps it's worth jumping through.
Here's the deck I was working with. What would you have recommended to cut if I wanted to splash green with a Regisaur Alpha?
1x Kinjalli's Caller
2x Raptor Companion
1x Fathom Fleet Firebrand
1x Tilonalli's Knight
2x Bishop's Soldier
2x Frienzied Raptor
1x Rampaging Ferocidon
2x Pterodon Knight
1x Imperial Aerosaur
1x Charging Monstrosaur
2x Sun-Crowned Hunters
1x Rile
2x Dinosaur Stampede
1x Bright Reprisal
2x Unfriendly Fire
1x Settle the Wreckage
1x Unknown Shores
8 Plains
8 Mountains
Well, for starters I'm not really sure why you have Rile.
I'm not great at sealed at first glance I'd say the 1 drop and rile for sure. I might have ended the curve at charging monstrosaur if possible and switched the dinosaur stampedes with combat tricks. You have a lot of 2 drops and want to attack with them nonstop, w/o cheap combat tricks you easily get walled off by 1/3s or better. Here's the deck I was working with. Synergy with Sun-Crowned Hunters. Cheap cantrip in a pinch. Not worth it?

A good blocker is not what you're looking for when playing RW.Kinjalli's Caller? Really? She was a cheap blocker in the early game and I had so many dinosaurs she was practically ramp. I had a couple of turns where she let me put two dinosaurs on the field when I wouldn't have otherwise.
Dammit you actually got creatures before turn four. Here is my pool that went 4-0. BW vampires. Still not sure if the deck is good or I got lucky.
That's not a nerfed vindicate at all.At the very least, if they wanted a slightly nerfed Vindicate, I think that Anguished Unmaking should have been allowed to hit lands.
Instant exile target permanent including lands for 3 mana, waaaaay too good.
That's not a nerfed vindicate at all.
Yes, but for 4 mana (the cost of Anguished Unmaking), it probably would be okay
All I got was 4 packs, must be nice
