Agree with everything here, the MITB matches are always good and seem to feature some decent talent. I really like to watch Shelton Benjamin in a match with someone who can keep up.

Outcast I feel like you and I have the same opinion week in week out. It's like every time I finish watching RAW each week I have to ask myself what the hell I'm doing. I don't know if I just expect to much... analyze matches and storyline or simply miss the old days and the attitude era.

A huge problem is that the "core" fans who enjoy good matches and good talent that complain how shitty the show is every week will continue to watch every single week.... hoping for that one good match. I wish there was a way to organize everyone who felt that WWE has been going down the shiiter for a while to simply not watch for a couple months and see how hard it hit the ratings. I have a feeling woudn't really be much but you guys may know more about the fan demographic than I do.

This is one of those times when it's sucking pretty hard to be a wrestling fan. If you were around for the "attitude era" you know just how good they can be. There's just a hope deep down that they can get back to that point where it was must see stuff.

I don't analyze the matches. I just want decent matches along with the stuff surrounding it that doesn't make me want to shake my head. Right now, I can't seem to get either on a consistant basis.

Monday's last segment with Orton and HHH was one of those times where I just had to shake my head. It's retarded booking. It's insulting to the audience, and if I were there live I'd be a little irritated. Pay $50 for a ticket to watch 15-20 mins of bad acting on a video screen.

The buyrate for the WWE Royal Rumble PPV on January 25, which is usually an early indication of how the number for WrestleMania will be, came in this week with 446,000 buys worldwide with 268,000 coming domestically in North America reports The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Although final numbers always have the shot of increasing by 10%, they are still down 22% worldwide and 29% in North America from last year's numbers that were 575,000 worldwide and a final figure of 379,000 in North America.

I couldn't stop thinking about this during the segment. The whole crowd watching the "main event" play out on the Titantron.

I've been in that situation before. It SUCKS.

The crowds usually not interested in it at all. Especially when it's that bad

What kind of person would actually buy that shirt? Not a single person would ever think it was anything other than two dudes fucking.

It's like putting the Warrior/Hogan test of strength gif on a shirt and saying "dudes they're wrestling."
i have that shirt thank you very much.

Last night was the first time I got the chance to watch wrasslin in about a year.

What the shit is wrong with TNA? Kurt Angle/Sting updates every 5 minutes. Two of the worst announcers in the history of the television and I'm supposed to give a shit if they don't like each other? A main event between Eric f'n Young and some security guard that looks like a giant egg?

If I would have recorded it, I could have watched the two hour show in about 7 minutes. The only thing that really stood out to me was the fact that Matt Morgan actually sounded competent on the mic. I may have just gotten jaded after the 30 interviews with random "knockouts" but he at least sounded comfortable when talking.

Former WWE star found dead in apartment

We don't have details, but there are multiple reports that Andrew "Test" Martin passed away earlier today at his condo in Tampa.

Martin was four days shy of his 34th birthday.

Police in Tampa confirmed a death in the condo but wouldn't identify the name, but numerous sources within wrestling have confirmed it was him. No details as to the death were reported.

Martin last wrestled with WWE in February, 2007, when he was released after failing a drug test. He worked a few weeks with TNA but the company decided against hiring him. He had of late worked some tours for Nu Wrestling Evolution, and most recently had worked in Japan on shows promoted by Leon "Vader" White.

*bong*

Sounds like Kelly Kelly saved him from ODing at some point recently, so that was likely the cause here.

Pretty sad, but everyone is numb to wrestlers dying young at this point.

Test actually was really close to being a main eventer at one point... the stuff where he was dating and then engaged to Stephanie got over huge.

Wow, RIP Test.

He died young, but I'm guessing he lived a decent life. Keep in mind, he banged Kelly Kelly AND Stacy Kiebler over his lifetime.

Dave Ditch email interview with BattlArts Legend Yuki Ishikawa.

http://pulsewrestling.com/2009/03/14/puroresu-pulse-issue-144-a-few-questions-with-yuki-ishikawa/

I love this answer, brilliant and made me smile. :)

Q: Why do you and Ikeda hit each other harder than any other wrestlers hit each other?

A: Because we are not hitting each other, we are hitting the fucking stupid people in the world who think that pro-wrestling is fake like a trained monkey show. They say that pro wrestling kicks are fake so it is not painful. etc. Once they see our fight, they have nothing to say. They watch our fight like a fool with their mouth open with surprise. So our violent fight is not only for our opponents but for the fucking people that make light of BATTLARTS. Our fight is anger towards people who make light of us.

yup pretty amazing.

R.I.P.

I had no idea Test was so young. So he was only 23 or so when he debuted in the WWE. It's always sad to see someone lose their life to drugs or alcohol.

Is that the actual cause of death?

"Scott Hall was run over after the PPV. He was outside a bar and fell down. Wes Benton, a WCW employee, didn't see him behind him and backed out, and heard a scream. Benton stopped the car, which was on top of Hall's ankle. He realized and moved the car off the ankle. It was nothing serious." - The Wrestling Observer Newsletter: March 01, 1999
:lol
"The show began with Disco, Jericho and Johnny Swinger wearing sombreros and making racial remarks. Problem was the crowd was 70% Anglo. They started stomping the sombreros and calling the crowd wetbacks, and it went downhill from there. Silver King, who was doing a cowboy gimmick, had been learning rope tricks and apparently trying them in the ring, somehow wound up by accident nearly tying himself up with his own rope" - The Wrestling Observer Newsletter: February 08, 1999.

"In a spot that aired twice on the show, they aired a promo for Nitro that had never aired before, (featuring) Sean Waltman who hasn't been with the company for a year" - The Wrestling Observer Newsletter: March 22, 1999

the girl with the mic backstage is stupid, having to point the mic at someone for them to cut a promo is amateur hour.

That Sheik Abdul Bashir segment was so incredibly pointless.

Why not just do that type of shit on Impact instead of wasting time on the PPV? :/

Well, I'm here for the TNA party... but no one else will show up.

It's lonely being a TNA fan :(
Sorry i only follow WWE (Just because of the WWF attitude era)
I would to love to learn about japan wrestling tough

Well, that match sucked.
0 for 3.

Abyss better get a hefty bonus for taking that spot so much. Is it just me or has he NEVER had success using tacks on someone?

MORE PROMOS? Sigh

Well, thats the most femme ODB has ever looked.

God, this PPV blows so far.

You aren't kidding. I swear they are just coasting until Mania's over with. Lockdown is next month and for me, it's their best PPV of the year usually.

and a 3 minute womens match.

So...how long has Joe been wearing the goofy makeup? I haven't watched TNA in months, and judging by what i've seen so far this is not a good PPV from which to jump back in, just terrible :lol I'm waiting for the X-Division match, then i'm bailing out.

Anyways, earlier on I watched Joe vs Dan Maff from ROH - Wrestlerave 03. The match took place shortly after the death of Maff's father and because of this he recieved an awesome ovation from the fans, despite being a heel - the whole atmosphere was electric and emotional with both Maff & Joe rising to the occasion to put on a stunning bout and one of my personal favourites from Joe's ROH title run. It certainly provided a stark contrast to the badly handled 3 minute brawl vs Steiner TNA just put on.

Wow. Can't wait for Lockdown. Not for the wrestling, but for the Philly audience. This can be the most glorious trainwreck in wrestling history, and I don't want to miss it.

Well, at least Styles won the belt clean.

That's pretty much been the only good thing so far on an otherwise awful PPV.

I hope they end the stupid MEM storyline tonight.

I just want Sting to drop the belt to AJ and give him the nod. That would be a good final match.
