Are there any better deals than the Toysrus one currently? I just impulse bought a Wii U and haven't really paid attention to anything with the console until now.

Went through time trials! From what I've experienced, Morton seems pretty OP for Time trials. Definitely my favorite to use in TT.

Just got some time to play the game, LOVE IT. A while ago, nobody broke nintendo's street dates, but nowadays most stores do it in Paris. Not that I'm complaining !

Quick impressions after three cups :

> Game is really gorgeous, lighting is great, lots of little details in the characters animation and expression. Everything is very "alive" and cartoony.
> Replay is fun to watch, you can slowdown the time ans litterally "scratch" forward and backward to better see a particular moment.
> New items are fun, it's great to be able to avoid a blue shell at last ! Didn't get a boomerang yet, but I lost a race because of one.

Bummer : I didn't find a way to play local 2 player races without split-screen ( I wanted to have 1 player on the TV and one on the gamepad) and the split screen is vertical - I prefer horizontal if available. Not sure If I missed an option menu or if if it's not customizable. Digital manual was of no help.

Edit : I just read the OP again, it seems it's just not possible to play without split-screen. Oh well.

Very pleased of my time with the game, can't wait to have 4 player races.

oh man, 3 1/2 days. feels like it's been a while since i've been hyped enough to buy a game day 1

luckily i'm off work friday, saturday, and sunday. gonna grab a nap after work on thursday and hope nintendos servers don't explode at midnight so I can download off the e-shop.

Got mine. PAL Limited Edition, red shell keyholder and the Florent Gorges booklet which pretty tiny (15x15cm I believe), but had more text than arts (which is good IMO).
Rapid check and it's 82 pages (wow). It's right in line with his style in the Story of Nintendo books, it seems.

Will eat my pizza and go 50cc :)

ugh, Nintendo online store hasn't even dispatched it yet.
Really hope they're not sending them out on release day like it says they are on my order page.. :(

So, I know Funky Kong was the go to Time Trials guy in MKWii, but was he as useful in multiplayer? I have a feeling Morton may be becoming the new Funky.

Funky and daisy were the *best* overall. Bowser and wario prevents morton from being the best since they share the same stats.

I hate Wario and Morton sounds so retarded I can't even.

This is why I was worried. It fits his character, but I'd get sick of that voice pretty quickly if it's all I was hearing online.

I like mortons voice in a it's so bad that it's good sort of way. Can't say the same for that darn ape in mario kart wii. God his voice was so obnoxious.

Yeah, I remember being excited they were bringing in more DKC elements into Mario Kart, but then I used Funky for the first time and, yeah, he's SO freaking annoying. Morton's is at least really silly, so it's tolerable.

But that's not the expert ghost, right? Are they in this game? Staff ghosts were always pretty easy to beat in MK Wii I remember - the challenge came from beating them by around 4 seconds, which unlocked a far faster expert ghost which I always found incredibly challenging.

They were tough enough that there weren't any unlockables tied to them, to save people getting angry. Hopefully it's the same in this game.

I main Mario but do like to use Luigi and Bowser. But Roy and Morton have always been my favorite 2 Koopalings. Will give them a spin too from time to time.

I've seen conflicting information on this.

Many of the bloggers who have had the game for four weeks now were saying there were no expert ghosts, but now I'm seeing some people on YouTube saying there are. So I don't know, but I hope so.

It's run by The Hut Group who also run Zavvi, I'd expect it to dispatch Tuesday or Wednesday and arrive on the Friday.

I was hoping those particular stamps would be harder to get. The game already gives a lot of stamps for free and just for beating GPs with characters, so I was hoping for some hard stamps to show expert players.

Anyone know when eShop codes tend to activate? Have bought one from GAME and it's sat there taunting me - but obviously the eShop tells me the content isn't available yet. What's peoples' experience been in the past with preordering these codes?
