I can't see Levi being any good..plus it'll be weird since he's playing Fandral in Thor 2. I'd be cool with JGL or Pace.
Eh, John Krasinski tested for Captain America. I won't worry until we get an official announcement. The Joseph Gordon Levitt story can only be considered good news IMO.

The JGL in Batman news always seemed like a bunch of bullshit to me. No way they would have Batman that's not Bruce Wayne in the Justice League. I could see him working out in GotG though. Certainly better than the dude from Chuck that was getting a lot of hype a couple weeks ago.

did you see Dark Knight Rises?

New Iron Man 3 action figures are hitting store shelves:

Check out all the new armors in the background:

All I can see is a squinty face on the new armour. Don't want.

How the hell would that have even worked?

If the deleted scenes in Avengers is something to go by Peggy is still alive, and didn't they film a dance between them in modern times for Captain America that they ended up not using? I mean just put Hayley in make-up or something.

But I hope there is a scene where the two meet even if it's another actress.

It would be sweet if in IM3 Stark could use that Extremis tech to somehow manifest that giant particle cannon from Capcom's Marvel Super Heroes and blast the shit out of something.

Yes, it's a character with both a real name and a superhero alias.

Like every Marvel Super Hero ever. :p

Hahaha, I thought they were two separate characters. Never read a GotG book.

So is there any indication if this will be Quill's origin story? Or will this team be formed from the get-go? I'm wondering how this crazy-ass superhero team even fits into the current Marvel film universe.

What in the living hell is up with all the Zach Levi hate in this thread? Chuck was wildly underrated and he'd make a great leading Marvel superhero. I do agree that if he's already Wesley he probably shouldn't be another character too, but this "Levi sucks" thing is incorrect.

There hasn't been any indication yet if the movie will include Quill's origin or just have the team already together. If it does show his origin though then it should probably be done briefly in flashback style. I think the best way the movie would work is if he is already Star-Lord but the movie is about the origins of the team. I'm also ok if the movie just says they are already a team and runs with it but I am sure they will want to give the audience some sort of origins.

What they should do is have the team already formed, but have the movie start out focused on a mundane Major Carol Danvers. Her flight assignment gets her caught up in whatever mission GotG are on, and she serves as the method by which the audience learns about the Guardians while she helps out with their mission, in the end being zapped by whatever and gaining her Ms Marvel powers.

Finally got around to watching Item 47. Really liked that short film. Fun stuff. Kinda hope that Sitwell, Smokey, Claire, and Ben show up on the SHIELD show occasionally.

Except there is the whole thing where Carol Danvers has nothing to do with GotG. I don't want GotG to be a movie to setup more Avengers heroes. I want it to be GotG.

I wonder what the timeline would be like. I mean, does this Quill guy (who will probably be the audience surrogate) join the Guardians after the Battle of New York? Or will this have been before the Avengers all together?

Brah please stop acting like the two years where DnA did their thang is some untouchable run. They are gone. Bendis got that shit now.

Quill's leader.

And from the future.

Now there's time travel?

I don't think they'd have time travel if they tie Avengers and GotG together, it'd become too convoluted.

I guess unless it's just, "Oh hey, here's some superheroes from the future, ok let's fight Thanos cause he blew everything up in the future".

That would suck though.

It's not untouchable but it is the version the movie appears to be based on. Bendis' run also hasn't even started yet. Either way ms marvel has nothing to do with the GotG.

I kind of want to see Timothy Olyphant be a hero in the MCU. Dude has so much swag.

He should be Nova! Come on, Raylan Givens as a space cop in the MCU? Perfect.

Perfect for Phase 3 as more cosmic level villains and heroes bleed through. You could have a Nova set of films sort of as the Western films of the MCU. Though, I've never actually read a Nova comic, I'm just taking the skimming from Wikipedia and running with it.

Isaisah Mustafah as that Drax the Destroyer dude?

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Guar...-Mustafa-Could-Play-Drax-Destroyer-34915.html

For the past few weeks we've been following the casting process for Marvel Studios' upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy. But while we've heard about a number of actors testing for the role of Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star Lord, there hasn't been a single development regarding any other member of the team. But now it looks as though that tide may be turning as new rumors have surfaced surrounding the part of Drax The Destroyer.

Comic Book Movie, which has a very hit or miss record with these kinds of scoops, has reportedly learned from a "source very close to production" that Marvel is currently looking at Isaiah Mustafa (those viral Old Spice commercials), Dave Bautista (The Man With The Iron Fists, and Brian Patrick Wade Generation Kill) as possible selections for the part of the Guardians' resident green warrior. It's interesting that Mustafa is mentioned, as just a few years ago he was being given the tour around Marvel HQ, but doesn't necessarily mean that the story is true.

In the comics Drax was originally a human named Arthur Douglas, but he died when he and his family were attacked by the evil Thanos (the big purple dude in the credits of The Avengers). Needing someone to fight off the Mad Titan, an entity called Kronos brought Arthur's spirit back to life and put it in a much more powerful body. The character is an extremely skilled fighter (particularly with a blade) and also has powers of psychic detection.

But Mustafa isn't the only actor whose name could be getting resurrected at Marvel. The same source adds that The Office's John Krasinski, who was long rumored for the part of Captain America before losing out to Chris Evans, is among the aforementioned number of actors trying to land the role of Star-Lord. So when you're trying to think of all the actors being considered for the lead in Guardians of the Galaxy you can include Krasinski's name along with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Zachary Levi, Jim Sturgess, Michael Rosenbaum, Joel Edgerton, Jack Huston, Lee Pace, Eddie Redmayne, Garrett Hedlund, James Marsden and Sullivan Stapleton.

Guardians of the Galaxy is being written and directed by James Gunn and will be in theaters August 1, 2014. For more about the movie head to our Blend Film Database.

He guested on Nikita a couple of weeks ago, I like the dude.

Just yesterday we reported that Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Looper) was included on the shortlist of actors vying for the lead role in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. We presumed that, since an earlier report had mentioned an unnamed actor in the mix in addition to Zachary Levi (Chuck) and Jim Sturgess (Cloud Atlas), Gordon-Levitt was the last candidate. Well, today’s news brings word that Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville) is also under consideration for the role of Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord. Hit the jump to get this sorted out.

Tweeted that he recently read for the lead role (via IGN):

Read for my pal @JamesGunn GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY for PETER QUILL. What a treat! Thanks Jimmy. @Marvel

Best known for his role as a young Lex Luthor on Smallville, Rosenbaum has other ties to the comic book world having done a number of voice-over spots. His experience in animated fair is on the DC side, with roles in Batman Beyond, Teen Titans, Justice League, Static Shock, Batman: The Brave and the Bold and Justice League: Doom. Rosenbaum has previously worked with Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn on PG Porn, a comedy series in which the two voiced Charlie Brown and Linus respectively.

As for the lead role in question, Star-Lord was born of a human mother and alien father, and he’s a master strategist and combat expert who wears an ability-enhancing suit and pilots a psychically-linked ship. The character will likely serve as the audience’s introduction to the unusual world of Guardians of the Galaxy in the space-set film, which opens August 1, 2014. Be sure to get caught up on all of our previous and continuing coverage on Guardians of the Galaxy here.

Also, if Michael Rosenbaum is cast in GotG, that'd be awesome. I always liked that dude on Smallville (even if I didn't like Smallville at all).

Seeing pictures of him with hair is weird.
