Exactly. There’s a character on the Illuminati in this that exists for the sole purpose to bury a Jeph Loab disaster as in its own universe with no connection to the MCU.

Wanda is totally doing a reverse house of M in this and bringing the x-men into the MCU main timeline somehow. It might even be by her somehow waking up the x gene in MCU variants of the x-men. Which could give us young Prof X again.
Possibly Xavier and her battle it out and he touches her mind and gets linked to all the mutants without their powers in the MCU. Then he does something to awaken their abilities before she kills him?

Normally I do not get excited about the MCU. I pretty much checked out after Endgame.
But Doctor Strange has been my favorite comic book character since I've been in high school.
I thought the movie wasn't going to come out until later this month and I'm finding out it's just a couple of days. I'm dying to see this movie because I like anything to do with different dimensions and of course it's my favorite comic book character in which I think the movie does pretty good justice to.
So I'm going to see if I can hit this up in a couple of days.
The movie theater is in walking distance from my house too. That's because it's in a casino since most of the movie theaters here are in casinos anyways because it's Las Vegas.
But Doctor Strange has been my favorite comic book character since I've been in high school.

I hate going to the movies alone and I don't seem to have any friends anymore and wouldn't mind watching it with somebody. I'll actually be wearing my Doctor Strange t-shirt which has a picture of Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange on it.

Yeah. I know I talk a lot of shit about the MCU but I am still a big Doctor Strange fan so this is a big deal to me and the movie just sounds like a lot of fun.
Plus, this resort has a nice buffet so I'm going to be hitting that up before the movie. Almost looking as forward to the buffet as I am the movie.

Marvel are going full out with the multiverse. Wonder if those Tom Cruise Iron Man rumours turn out to be true. Looks like a wild film and I might actually go and watch it at the cinema.

People were inventing the movie in their head to be a massive Avengers style crossover. It’s not that at all and the multiverse cameos are really just limited to the Illuminati scene and even that is just to show how evil the villain of the movie has become.
Wanda basically kills them all. Clearly kills Black Bolt, Reed, and Xavier. Drops a building on the two Captains.
The movie is like an epilogue to WandaVision while acting as an origin for America Chavez in the MCU.

He’s in there as a variant to show that Jeph Loeb’s garbage was in a different non-canon universe. It was meant to bury that trash once and for all.

I mean we all know that was a variant. Just like the Netflix shows or AoS. At this point one has to be 100% blind to think anything not produced by Marvel Studios is canon to the mainline.

Those characters were there to die and do some fan service. People wanter Jim as Reed. We got that. People wanted to see Stewart as Professor X again. We got that. Black Captain Marvel? Check. Female Captain America? Check. Only thing that people didn't expect and I personally was pleasantly surprised was Black Bolt and with the exception of him I don't think the mainline will see these characters again unless it's Secret Wars. They are Earth 838 characters.
Maybe a pet peeve of mine, but I don't like how they canonized the mainline MCU Earth as 616. If you read the comics then you know why that's annoying. Also interesting that IIRC this is the first movie they mentioned Spider-Man by name where the character is not featured or appears in said movie. Ant-Man had a nod to it talking about a hero that craws, swings, etc, but never referenced him by name. Spidey can't even be on the Marvel logo if he's not featured in the movie. Something changed there from a legal perspective.

Saw it today. Quite underwhelmed tbh. I like the very Samm Raimi vibe of it, although some times those elements carried on a bit too long. The main plot about was weaksauce for me as well :
Wanda wants to murder a child, steal her powers, so she can then go murder another version of her to steal some kids for herself. I guess that dark book corrupted her? Surely you'd have to be an idiot to believe that was a good idea. I was hoping it would have been something more interesting. The illuminati stuff was ok and, as pointed out in the thread, mainly fan service but I would have liked it to be a bit more substantial instead of here they are for a couple of mintues before they get killed.
