Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 Review Thread

I am loving the game but the audio mixing is messed up. There are sound FX missing in key moments and the overall sound seems like it's very low and far away. Hoping it gets sorted because it's really bothering me. Game is fun though
Yeah, sound seems a bit on the low side and punches and hits aren't very audible. Game's combat is reminding me a bit of Diablo 3. >.>

Hopefully they can sort it out since they are going to be doing so much post release support for it.

Patch it alongside a content update or something.

Hmm. I had no missing sounds that I remember at all. I did change the levels in the audio settings however. Admittedly I do that with every game since each sound system and game is always a bit different

I have a hard time seeing this game price drop anytime soon though. I myself am not interested in it but it is a marvel game so it might sell pretty good with all things marvel these days.
It's already on sale on Amazon for 50.00 right now.

Thinking of getting this, think I can play this on easy with my 9 years old daughter and 5 years old son?

I'm playing with my 4 year old son on the higher difficulty. No problems. As long as at least you know what you're doing, you should be just fine.

It's great fun, but the camera can get really messed up at times when playing local multiplayer.

How far are you coz Ultron was no push over and made me pay attention to my healthbar. :lollipop_grinning:

I may have been underleveled a bit since I swap out heroes most of the time. >.>

The fight was a lot of fun though and a nice action set piece.

Oh man, I remember MMOs... whatever happened to those? Are they still a thing?
Just tell the kid to mash buttons.

Not far at all. Just unlocked Luke. But so far it's been pretty smooth sailing with just a few hiccups. Maybe we'll run into more trouble later 😅

And do you think it is easy enough for a 5 years if if he plays with me?
That's the first real game my 5 years old plays and he loves it (after Mario Kart autodrive+wheel and Just Dance).
I give him a hand once in a while but it's easy enough for him to progress most of the time alone.

That's great to hear! My son also plays mario kart exactly like yours :)

Compared to xmen legends 1&2 and the first ultimate alliance this feels like its missing something. I feel like they're targeting the mcu crowd and not gamers who are semi aware of comic books they missed the mark imo

It lacks the polish that Raven Software put into X-Men legends 1&2 and the first MUA game. Also the combat had more depth in the Raven games.

I think they lowered the price in general. I pre-ordered it on Amazon and they did refund me 8 Euros a few days after release and adjusted the price. It hasn't changed since then.

Yeah it seems very lackluster. MUA2 was a massive disappointment and this seems to take it even further in that direction.

It's alright. Crappy performance though.

Enjoying it more on easy mode as the game is such a button mash, far more fun feeling overpowered.

On the one hand, seems too iffy a game to pay full price for.

On the other hand, I'm high on Marvel right now from Endgame, it's my birthday, I love co-op and I'm a Nintendo whore.

I don't like those odds.

You never go full Nintendo whore!

No surprises here, the previews all screamed 6-7 out of 10 by largely today's game standards. This looks and plays like a 1-2 gen old game and as a fan of the prior ones, that's exactly what I was hoping for!
It looks like that because those are the types of games released on handhelds and the Switch is a portable that happens to hook up to your TV.

Not even sure if a Pro Switch will change that since ARM severly limits CPU options and Nintendo cant break compatibility.

Ryzen on next consoles is going to make a lot of games impossible to port to the Switch.

Beat Kingpin. Getting my ass whooped by Ultron. Trying to do some of the Infinity Trials to level up.

Finally took down Ultron and Ultimo.

I bought star fox zero. I'm guilty as well
Oh man, I remember forgetting to cancel my pre order and then going back and forth on whether or not to return it. So I popped into the OT on GAF and had so many people tell me not to worry about the controls, that they were fine.

I fucked hated that game with a passion, and I never listen to early impressions. Especially hardcore Nintendo fans.

Oh wow, didn't realize you were posting on GAF again. Welcome back :)

I actually didn't find the controls that cumbersome but so unbelievably not necessary. And the levels weren't good even by regular star fox standards.

Still have whatever that star fox guard is in the plastic.
