The initial information I was given was that the virus was not airborne - the YouTube video from John Campbell claims that the Chinese are saying the virus, when a person coughs, can remain in the air for 30 minutes. How do we fact-check that?

I ask because one of my colleagues tested positive and he’s reclusive at work, to say the least. He has zero interactivity with people. He merely breathes the same air we do.

That's not true. Pneumonia is more often accompanied by breathing problems, which are not life-threatening and to some extent normal, but which require observation. This is why people stay in hospital.
In addition, only in hospital can a quick and comprehensive diagnosis be made, which is another reason to stay in hospital. If you go to the doctor with pneumonia and have problems breathing, the doctor will not send you to other specialists, but to a hospital. It's all about the mere danger that pneumonia can become dangerous quite quickly.

By the way, I did not talk about an intensive care unit, which many hospitals also have. The topic was hospitals in general.

Italy is once again a topic in itself. There, an extremely large number of elderly people are affected, which pushes up the critical illness rates.
Unfortunately I do not have any current figures, but just a few days ago, when the number of deaths was already over 100, 0.1% were under 50, 2.8% between 50 and 59 years old, 8.4% between 60 and 69, 32.4% between 70 and 79, 42.2% between 80 and 89 and 14.1% were 90 years or older (source: https://puntomagazine.it/2020/03/06...dellistituto-superiore-di-sanita-su-covid-19/). As far as we have been able to read to date, the percentage distribution has changed very little.
Perhaps I didn't make it clear, but I was talking about the situation in Italy where the hospitals are overrun and everything is an ICU.

Someone feel free to correct me but my understanding of the general consensus is that its not aerosolized but you can definitely get it from spit particulates from someone coughing, sneezing, blowing their nose around you, etc. I'm not sure if this is still the current running theory though.

The guy on Rogan said smokers and the obese are also at higher risk of death. Everyone's just focusing on the elderly.

He said everything they've projected to occur back in January has come to fruition and he still projects it to make the rounds over the next 3-6 months and they project millions of infected in the states and potentially up to 480,000 deaths.

He also said the amount of virus in asymptomatic people who have the virus was higher than that of SARS. He said what makes this so dangerous is the fact that you're very contagious without having any symptoms at all, plus how long it stays in the air, we just aren't equipped to contain this.

He also said when China eventually lifts the lockdowns, he expects a spike in cases around the world again, like a resurgence.

Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
I just realized there's probably a month worth of TP in my home but then again it's always been like that here, especially since I have a loose stomach.

Fuck, just order that shit on Amazon if you really believe you need it and stop having slap fights in fucking Costco. It's pathetic.

Old news, we knew this in January, good thing governments followed it as closely as me , because we are now prepared.

I've just read a hypothesis regarding how the virus appeared and spread that's so insane it actually seems plausible.

A research lab in Wuhan was selling used lab animals on the black market. After doing tests on them, instead of killing and incinerating them, they sold them (for meat) for some quick cash. They gave the animals a quick tonic shot (so they would appear lively) and foisted them on an unsuspecting bushmeat buyer.

And, the weirdest part is, it wouldn't be the first time that sort of insane shit happened. Back during Nicolae Ceausescu's reign, a vaccine lab in Communist Romania was selling used cattle on the black market. The cows had been marked as destroyed in accounting, but were sold out the back door to people.

If millions are infected at once 480k deaths will be more like double of that.

As long as you have beds and staff to help you you are fine.
But if that little help is gone and there is no one to take care of you you will die in your own home.

Not to mention we see medical staff getting infected so what happens if there is no nurse or doctor left?
Also hospitals are depending on all other staff like cleaners techs assistents etc.

Infected in the millions is the end of our health system.

Rogan's guest also says they project it to be 10-15 times worse than a flu outbreak. Thinks it's worse than SARS because with SARS you weren't contagious until you had symptoms.

Also debunks any theories that seasons will kill this. He said seasons don't kill viruses.

He said unfortunately he hates to say it, but the one way this is gonna slow down is for it to spread, and people become immune once they've caught it so that means less carriers. Because he said this thing will be around for up to 6 months and you can't shut down entire societies for 6 months, so it's gonna be impossible to fully contain this. He said all these policies put in place are quarantines for a couple weeks or a month, but he said it's gonna be around way longer.

^US could be only half a day away from joining the 1,000 cases club even this CNN report is behind the number is 870+

New York City medic got coronavirus from his flight attendant girlfriend, mayor says

A New York City Fire Department emergency medical technician who tested positive for coronavirus contracted the virus from his girlfriend, who is a flight attendant and had traveled to an area with an outbreak, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said.

As a result of the EMT’s positive test, five of his colleagues are in self-quarantine. None of them are showing symptoms, de Blasio said.

The medic treated 11 patients in the pertinent time period, de Blasio said.
