I don't even know and don't even care. I just said to her that as a doctor she should think more straight and this is no time to be throwing parties. And then wished a happy birthday lol.
People not wearing their fucking face masks an NOT LETTING THE GOV WIN are the real reason we can't nip this shit in the bud.
Stop it. "Not sure how". Even in the 85+ age bracket the vast majority who are infected survive. Come on. You have to know this by now. We don't all have to act like Don Lemon sobbing like a small child upon finding out Chris Cuomo had barely-symptomatic (if at all, I can't even remember now) COVID.Found out my grandma tested positive.
90 years old with dementia.
She was asymptomatic and survived the CV.
Not sure how she did it but she did.
Oh fuck off. "Anybody not living in paralyzing fear and who dares bring any perspective and/or context to the conversation is obviously a bad person who doesn't give a fuck about people dying". You can fuck right off with that horse shit.I know 2 people that died from this myself. It really just sounds to me like some of you just don't care enough about the people that can pass away from this. It is understandable as humans are selfish in nature. People are free to go out yes, but would it kill you to wear your mask around others trying to get groceries? Is it really asking that much?
thank you for reading my blog

I wear a mask when I go out so that in the off chance I carry the virus I don't infect others. It is the least I can do (literally) but I do it because I'm just a bit thoughtful. The fact you call it a muzzle or that it infringes on your rights is something else though. That and lashing out like that.shut the fuck up. asking me to give away my rights to wear a muzzle?

Yeehaw is definitely trolling everyone if you haven't figured it out yet. Look through his brief post history and also his username. He comes off like an obvious parody account of conservatives; always saying something really extreme and sarcastic.
Care to elaborate on this?reality does not support your bullshit.
wearing a mask is a sign of weakness. you say you wear a mask to protect other people? lmao! you are circulating c02 into your brain, killing you!Care to elaborate on this?

Because you're the expert, right Karen? You are perfectly welcome to stay locked in your home paralyzed by fear. No need to begrudge rational people who can see how obviously overblown all this is, and has been from the get go.
Or it clings on to you!My covid body hair is out of control. The way I see it, the more body hair I have, the greater chance covid gets filtered out before entering over of my many bodily orifices.
My dude, the US is still in the first wave. The media will cling to whatever gets them the most views. That was covid until it plateaued so they switched to covering the protests, now that protests are becoming the usual every day, they switch to covid again because cases are going up dramatically. They just want views aka $$$The media seem to be ramping up for 2.0.
Where does this stupid idea of a second wave come from anyway? Just because someone somewhere said so?
Yeah, I eat breakfast, then I have a second wave at lunch time. Sometimes a third wave of food comes in the evening, but that makes me fat. I wear my mask at bedtime so food doesn't fall in my mouth.
It's just a token false panic lie. Sorry. Hopefully more lies will be caught in direct daylight so we can see how much of a scam it all is. I'll get my coat.
Edit: I know this is an unpopular opinion and It's not a positive contribution to this thread. But for the 99.99% of people this bug doesn't kill, it demoralizes and demonizes through political and social warfare. I really don't see how 2.0 can be scientifically based and not more media scaremongering, sorry, I just don't. Actually, evidence in MSM suggests that if you're black and protesting, then you have a special type of immunity gene. Strange New World, innit.
Pretty sure that was a tsunami.China is having a second wave. Or is it just the first wave?

Media sensationalizing? Never.
What's worrying for Florida is the people testing positive are young and don't need hospitalization. Why is that worrying? Florida has a very large elderly population the virus hasn't touched yet. The worse the community spread gets, the higher the chance that elderly population could get hit very hard. And with the States hospitals running at a high capacity they could fill up very quickly.
Its obvious places like Florida and Arizona have done a piss poor job of controlling community spread. Hopefully they quickly learn from it.
This is a terrible way to look at it. The right way to look at it is that young people test positive, they stay away from the old folks for a couple of weeks, and they move on. We want young, healthy people, to get this virus and get it over with. We cannot keep society in a bubble forever.
500,000 people dead worldwide and you still think the situation is overblown?
You've gotta a seriously problem evaluating situations clearly.

Yep. The death counts are still trending slightly downward (or at worst flat) even in these "new scary hotbed areas". That doesn't work for driving their narrative though. The media is focusing on raw case counts without context because it drives hysteria.

Sorry, I should've specified that I meant cases are going up significantly in specific states. I believe so far those states and states with them going down have kind of cancelled each other out, but it's increasing again now. I don't have the data in front of me right, though.I agree, but I have to point out that COVID cases are not going up dramatically. You can look at any logarithmic scale to see that. Things are still plateau'd. There are mild increases in case counts, which anyone would have told you was going to happen as things open up, and more people get tested. The question is, for the millionth time, can hospitals take care of people who need to be taken care of.
"No new cases ever" is an impossible standard. It is a clown world standard for a virus that isn't very dangerous for the vast majority of working people. We need to move on with our lives. The media is focusing on raw case counts without context because it drives hysteria.

However, DeSantis pointed out that even with the same number of tests, the percent positive was accelerating faster, which he said was evidence of transmission, especially among the younger demographic.
He said although more cases in younger people wasn’t as big of a worry in terms of a need for medical care, it was an issue in terms of community spread and the risk for the vulnerable population.
“It’s certainly cause for concern,” he said.
Florida governor says state will enforce rules designed to prevent spread of COVID-19
Gov. Ron DeSantis held a Saturday press conference to talk about recent media coverage about the rising numbers of COVID-19 in Florida and to “provide some context and perspective onwww.suncoastnews.com
The governor previously said a positivity index of 10% and stark increases in hospitalizations would be a red flag. Of the numbers mentioned Monday afternoon, Abbott said, "To state the obvious, COVID-19 is now spreading at an unacceptable rate in Texas and it must be corralled."
"Wearing a mask will help us to keep Texas open. Not taking action to slow the spread will cause COVID to spread even worse, risking people's lives and ultimately leading to the closure of more businesses," Abbott said Monday afternoon. "Our goal is to keep Texans out of hospitals and reduce the number of Texans who test positive."
"The data and trends are going up in a way that we really need to get control of," said Dr. John Hellerstedt, Commissioner of the Texas Department of State Health Services, during Monday's news conference. "We can get control of those by using the kind of guidance we have laid out before."
"We really are at a point where we need to recover, what I feel was, a sense of community that we had early on in the outbreak of COVID-19. We are still all in this together Texas and we need to act, not just to protect ourselves, but to protect our entire community."
COVID-19 Spreading at ‘Unacceptable Rate in Texas,' Abbott Says
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) will provide an update on Texas’ continued response to COVID-19 at 2 p.m. Monday from Austin.www.nbcdfw.com
The media is going to be the media, but we know that deaths trail infection rates. Hopefully some of the new developments and treatments keep the death rate low.
If the people getting sick are people with a .05% chance of dying, then no the deaths do not trail infection rates.

Looks like US will probably come under 400 deaths today, maybe even below 350.
281 and only a few states not reporting, and those are states with low deaths. Its even possible it will stay below 300 but I think an extra 20 deaths between the 10 or so states that haven't reported is likely.
Deaths keep seemingly dropping even with the increase in case volume.
