Ending spoilers seriously don't effing read if you don't have the game beaten.

I had no idea you could save all your team members, coming back with EVERY team member made me so fucking happy. I was so nervous about losing people I fully upgraded the ship and got all the loyalties. When picking teams in the collector base it took me a few min each time haha. Also awesome to tell the illusive man to STFU, you lied to me earlier why the fuck am I going to give you the craziest tech in literally the universe.

Honestly this is already my fav game of all time the only thing I would change is
somehow help wrex unite the clans /have a close friend of his take the throne as a proxy so wrex could joing me/wrex/tali (the 3 i always used 2 of in ME1) for old times sake and because he's such a fucking beast.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!

Full achievement victory!!!!

The point between the introduction and the death of the final boss was the worst part of the game (seriously, WTF).

Now I do not know what to do with myself, I have done everything (64 hours)

P.S. Reave is the best biotic in the game. I dumped warp for that, and I did not regret it.

I think you are either being very ignorant, or deliberately dense to the point of utter annoyance. In most RPGs, party members and story characters do not randomly die because of the player's actions or decisions. It is usually a story point, and something which would be considered a spoiler. Even if it is a possibility that might not happen to everyone, some people would rather not know at all that such a possibility is available until they discover it for themselves.

So it is not odd that people would be angry when it is just thrown around casually. Your manner of replying to these concerns has been rude, and they cannot be faulted for getting even angrier at you. Attempting to defend your actions further with a refusal to admit any fault on your part reflects badly, and will only make you continue to look bad.
But it's not a spoiler that's been covered up by the development team. The entire way through the plot is based around gearing up for a mission that is likely suicide, and the team constantly acknowledges the risk that they might not make it.

The developers have been talking about his since some of the earliest trailers for the game. I mean seriously, it's like the games synopsis to say that a character will die in this game: http://masseffect.bioware.com/info/standard/

Listening to the Galaxy News on Ilium and heard a quick story on the events of the BDtS DLC from ME1. I'm guessing that's all they go into in ME2 but
the end of it said the Batarian is still at large so perhaps more might happen in DLC or ME3 (or maybe not)
. I thought I heard the game didn't incorporate the DLC at all so it was just neat to hear that.

Man, i love this game, did a 8 hour marathon session yesterday, i think i bareley touched the surface. I just love talking to everyone and exploring the whole ME universe.
Glad i decided to switch from vanguard to Infiltrator. This playstyle suits me much better, using tac cloack to find a good spot and then pop some heads with my triple burst sniper rifle.

So is this game like the first in that it's better to go soldier as you'll get all the psi moves through your teammates?

As long as you do so on normal, it really does not matter.

I can't speak for everyone - but when I first heard the devs were giving away "spoilers", I avoided any game information like the plague. I avoided magazines, podcasts....anything that might hint at the story. So for me, it is news that any of this can happen. And really, I would rather find out for myself than have someone blurt it out in a thread, where it is the easiest thing in the world to spoiler something than risk giving anything away. Common sense surely?

so my friend beat the game way before me and he's telling me he got to level 30 in his first play through, and when doing a NG+ he's lost all his upgrades he got in the first run.

kinda kills the re-playability doesn't it? i mean in ME1 i kept coming back to get to level 60 and make my guy as strong as he could be. if 30 is easily attainable in one go and you lose the hard earned upgrades each time you go back in, there's not really that grind that makes you want to beat it again and again.

What?

If you've done the 20% cooldown shortage Upgrade and are playing a biotic character with cooldown bonuses included in the "passive" skill (which I think both have, I know the vanguard does, and can't imagine the adept not having one), the recharge time on reave is negligible, it's like 4 seconds for my Vanguard after applying bonuses.

edit:eh.

Let me be more specific. Reave on my level 3 Infiltrator has a loooooong recharge time.

Just started playing this, after finding out I didn't actually have my previous save on this 360. Gah! Now the game assumes I let the Council died and chose Kaiden over Ashley and a whole bunch of other stupid stuff. :(

My own fault for being absorded in ST:O and not checking on that save.

I completed a party member's loyalty quest and performed an upgrade on myself which give me an additional skill and then I apparently co-opted said skill from the party member whose loyalty I just earned.

Is there a limited amount of times that this can be done?

The scene at the end of Samara's mission was amazing. So many screenshots from that minute or so. This game can look so amazing at times, the lighting is top notch.

You can only have one at a time. As you earn the loyalty of more of your party members, their special abilities get added to a movepool out of which you get to select one. It costs something like 5000 element zero to change the move, only the first one is free.

i forgot about zaeed dlc...can he be recruited after downloading if you have been playing a while? i want to get my paragon to 100%
before i go to endgame so i can save mirandas dumbass lol

12 hours in under a day... and I love it.

A few questions
I'm certainly not done {so don't spoil any post-Ashley calls you a traitor stuff}, but doing alot of the loyalty quests. Is this what decides if they'll live? Or is it part of it and there's more to it? If so, are the choices that'll result in everyone living obvious?

Zaeed related
If you choose to save the factory workers can you still get his loyalty? I chose to hunt the Blue Sun guy he wanted to kill just in-case, because frankly, Zaeed is a real dick.
Anyone?

Has a lot to do with what you do once the suicide mission begins. Also, you need to max out your ship upgrades.

Also, there is a Paragon/Renegade path through ALL loyalty missions.

Anyone know what song is playing at the
end of Samara's recruitment mission where you're fighting that Eclipse Sisters Boss?
Sounded pretty cool but didn't really get to give it a proper listen as I was focusing on the battle at hand.

so you have to start a new game to recruit zaeed?

No. Once it's downloaded, you'll get a message in your inbox, a mission in your journal, and a pop up window to notify you of the quest.

How the hell do I beat the final boss? I'm getting nailed by all the shitty trash enemies. :(

FINALLY! Someone who's struggling like I did. Well, not struggled, but it took me like 20 minutes to beat him on Hardcore. Looking at some videos, I know it's because a) I was playing on console and b) I had no ammo.

So I'm taking my sweet time with my first playthrough. I'm about 12 hours in, and have only recruited the first group of squadmates, and done 2 loyalty missions. There's so much else to do that I keep getting distracted by the main quest!

One of my favorite moments in combat so far was during the mission to recruit Grunt - There was an enemy who refused to come out of cover, so I had Jack Pull him into the air and I fired a Concussive Blast, sending him flying off the platform to his doom! :D Being able to pull off stuff like that makes the game so much more enjoyable.

He was easy(easiest boss in the game, even on insanity), just popped that bastard with Sniper->Pistol->SMG rounds till he went down.

The trash mobs were not even worth mentioning. Area Reave X2 + Inferno Grenade take care of them

Also, does anyone know the name of the music found on the Tali intro video? Is it even on the soundtrack?

Just beat the game and I have two questions:

1.I had deleted my original Mass Effect save so I started over from scratch in the sequel. Unfortunately, this meant that the game made up my moral choices from the first game which involved letting the council die, killing Wrex, etc. Is it possible to start a new game using the Sheppard I just beat the game with and change it so I never made those decisions or will I have to go search for a Mass Effect 1 save to download and beat the game all over again?

2.Is there any way possible to save some of my crew who died on the last mission? Jacob took a rocket to the face (I had him clear out the vent) and Miranda and the doctor both apparently died while I fought the human reaper. Are these necessary deaths? Was there any way possible to be certain who would die and who would live?

Yeah those are easily avoided.

Assuming everyone is loyal.

Vent: Tali
Escort: Grunt
Barrier: Samara
Leader(Both times): Jacob
Final Group to fight boss: Samara + Mordin. I think Mordin may be glitched, he will not survive the unless he is taken with you.

Now these are what worked for me, I know for a fact that Garrus, Jack and Mordin can take some of those roles

The Cain knocks like 1/2-3/4 of his life in a single hit for future runs ;) It's a bit hard to aim at him but I mean, it's the Cain, you only have to get sorta close.

beat the game in 32hours, all planets 100% and all sidequests done.. had to do the ending twice and I
chose the renegade option, not blowing the place up
which I regret now :(

great game, but lots not as good as it could have been. Looking forward to expansion packs or extra missions to do in the future.

I just did it.. It was just attrition more than anything else - they didn't replenish my medigel (I only had two) and my dudes just kept dying and then I'd be surrounded. I really hope that next time they get rid of medigel altogether. Why not let me revive as much as I need to?

God, I feel like insanity really ruins the game. If I wasn't such an achievement whore, I wouldn't have done it. If they could make the AI stronger, it wouldn't be a problem, but as it stands it just highlights the deficiency in some of the pathing and just plain logic of the AI.

Oh well, it's over. Phew. :p

If you already had something with Liara from he previous game do you still get to fool around with her?

Short answer, no. They kind of dropped the ball on ME1 romances. :(

Really?

Maybe it is because I am on PC, but i though the AI was pretty solid, and my dudes did not die either (at least not on the final part. Only used Medigel like twice).

My only disappointment with Insanity is that after Horizon, the game becomes really easy (
The Thresher Maw was a joke
).

With that said, I am fucking drained, and unless they add another difficulty level, I see little point of me replaying now. Maybe later this year, early next.

So just wondering if there are more locations to explore the current star systems, or is there someway to get more and where from?

Yeah, you can get more maps in the Illium shopping area.

I have to say; Thane may possibly be the best new comer in ME2.
Whilst everyone else came off either as an asshole (looking at you Miranda) or a 1 dimensional aggressive ego (that butch dyke); Thane comes off as a sympathetic and relatable character. Just hope he isnt hiding anything from me

Oh, and my disappoint with the Vanguard is slowly dropping. Becoming a Champion Vanguard for the shorter biotic downtimes + mass pulls = bodies flying everywhere.

Thane was my favourite because;

1. His back story
2. His loyalty mission was different
3. His VA is superb
4. Graphically he looks amazing

Three way tie for me: Tali, Thane and Mordin

I cannot decide.

Oh my god, the sensitivity on the sticks is soooooooo bad when you're aimed on the 360 version. Combine that with just low damage, I was lucky to be able to hit the boss a few times each wave.

In that last bit, my allies were constantly flanked and then would get owned. I was lucky I had Grunt with me because at least he could take the damage.

Yeah, he's my favourite character. Although, the ME1 player in me chose to stick with Garrus (since they didn't give me a choice to pick Liara). I almost want to go back and replay the last part again just to have a save file with the Thane romance completed.

I used Samara(Area Reave) and Zaeed(Mordin with area incinerate works too). Plus I also had Area Reave.

This makes it a heluva lot easier. Grunt is easily one of the worst characters.

And the sensitivity is fucked-up on the PC too. Luckily enough, my mouse is shit, they balanced each other (Partly explains why I had an easier time).
