There weren't any hanar in 2, oddly enough. Thane talked about them and there was the Blasto recording but they never showed up.

There were a few of them on the Citadel but you couldn't talk to them.

Hanar, Elcor and Volus would all be awesome to revisit. It's too bad (but understandable) that Shepherd hasn't had one or more of these species as a squadmate (in 1 and 2, I'm not spoiled for 3). They've built a really cool universe and it would be great to explore some of these societies.

Probably my favorite NPC in all of Mass Effect was the preaching Hanar on the Presidium. I felt so bad for that dude. He just couldn't comprehend why people didn't want to hear of the glory of the Enkindlers. He had a point too. Unlike other religions, in the ME universe they know beyond all doubt that the Protheans did exist and they did leave relics behind on the Hanar homeworld.

I've been spoiled enough already that i dont really care anymore about more spoilers, but some of the things i've read are disappointing.


Straight from the thread on SA, so spoilers:

If you're expecting more dialog with crew members, it's about the same as the last games. A few full conversations and then Zaeed/Kasumi style one liners. Many of Shepard's lines also have no player input.

Some of the side missions are just scanning and not actual gameplay. Like the elcor ambassador asks you to go to Dekuuna to save the elcor. You don't actually land on the planet and fight reapers, you just scan, probe, elcor saved.

It wont be enough for me to not buy the game, but still, goddamnit Bioware.

Since I am caring little and little about being satisfied with ME3, I read your spoiler AND...WTF BIOWARE!?

I like the new Alliance network updates, but I preferred the longer Cerberus ones. They're incredibly short now, because they need to be on Twitter as well.

So with much trepidation, I tried to do the ME2 to ME3 (demo) character transfer using the code. Much to my surprise, it went quite well.

I thought the nose looks a bit busted at first but after seeing a few cut scenes, it actually looks fine. So I may or may not even bother fixing the nose when I finally import the guy into ME3.

I've been sitting at work for the last couple of days re-listening to the entire Mass Effect series OST on Spotify, Today I have been listening to Mass Effect 1 OST. Damn so awesome! I love this one the best by far. So many epic sounds in this one! I hope ME3's soundtrack can hold up to the magic that the original bought to the table.

There was a bloodshot eyes option; wouldn't your Shepard look a little worse for wear, spending 4 years battling the Reapers, knowing the inevitable and possible catastrophic battle could go, 2 years of those he was dead, and now he's fighting with every inch of his will to unite the galaxy against the ultimate threat.

I do find the lack of Hanar in ME2 slightly unsettling though. Vorcha aren't anywhere near as interesting. Actually, they are not interesting at all. If they get wiped in ME3, it's good riddance from me and my paragon shep. (who gave the data to mr. Thax because mr. Thax employ the politest Krogan in the whole universe. How could a civil shep resist such a nice conversation?)

Yeah, I think so too. I think I was mostly just a bit shocked at the amount of bump-mapping (I think that's the right term?) that Bioware gave to all the faces in ME3. There are actually texture all over my Shepard's face now as opposed to the Final Fantasy face smoothness of ME2.

I think her reaction to aliens is more believable than everyone getting along in one big galactic government.

I imagine the first reaction that comes to mind the first time our species meets another intelligent species will be "hmm, how do we kill it?"

The ME2 soundtrack is more action and gameplay related, but it just doesn't have the atmosphere or '60s-70s SF soul' that the ME1 soundtrack has. In my opinion anyway.

Hearing the Sovereign theme in the ME3 demo at least suggests that we might hear a bit of both this time around.

But then this line in ME 2 makes no sense: "I didn't hear an officer on deck, I run this ship military" and I can't let that happen. Plus there are plenty of naive blue alien babes to screw anyway.
