EA executives must be getting massive erections from this DLC ending petition.

"Wait, we can put out shit, and people will pay extra to make it better?"

BLOG.

And as far as I'm concerned they are still condescending assholes. It's rare not to see some "people can't complain about this shit, bubububu" post and not have "Kotaku" in the same topic.
Honestly can't imagine why anyone would read that drivel.

Still, they have a website and I don't. Hell I would be happy if the webmaster for Brazzers posted something about it with all the respect I have left for Bioware.

If he wanted to do that, then why send Kai Leng after the Councilors? Why not have him do his thing and use the Councilors as a diversion?

Bioware probably did this because it was the midpoint of the game and that he couldn't have succeeded otherwise. Moreover, it's heavily implied that Udina was a Cerberus puppet so he would have gotten a permanent and easy access to the room once Udina was in charge. Later on he does succeed when he collaborates with the reapers and tell them about the Crucible.

But they might also be worried that this will endanger Mass Effect 4. I know that I'll be wary about it.

Then again, I expect ME4 to probably be a straight shooter, and not be done by Bioware.

Mass effect 4 by respawn ent CONFIRMED..... and it will have a better ending

Kai Leng had easy access to the room if the Councilors were running the fuck away from the Presidium Tower. But I digress. Trying to make sense of this, IMO, is like trying to make sense about why the Reapers didn't bum rush the Citadel before taking Earth.

The Illusive Man being gimped as another bitch of the Reapers is another failure of ME 3.

Also, does anyone else see the similarities between the Control ending and this?

Except without this. Also does that mean Kai Leng is Sao Feng because if so lol

Unfortunately. I'd rather they fix it with DLC than leave it as it is, so at least we know they went "Yeah, okay, the ending is super dicked up, here's a better ending"

However, if they release a better ending DLC and make us PAY for it, especially after this stupid From Ashes fiasco, I think (know) they will piss off A LOT of people.

Agreed on both counts. I simply need a fix for what is currently...a big issue.

ME3 is closer to Matrix Reloaded actually in that you are given a massive infodump in the last moments of the story without time to digest it and then you are given a cliffhanger ending. The difference is that ME3 was meant to END a trilogy.

Also, in Matrix: Reloaded it's implied that Neo is the first One in his position to choose love instead of preserving the system. Whereas Shepard can choose to destroy the cycle... but not in a way that would bring him closer to his love, thus making his decision even more impersonal and cold.

Yeah. I'm not really vocal about the DLC issue, either. Frankly, I just keep my mouth shut and don't pay for content that I don't feel is justified. How other people spend their money is their business.

That said, if Bioware chooses to rectify this with DLC, they can either save a shit-ton of face, and release it for free, or perpetuate the degrading reputation of both BW and EA, and try to make a buck off of it. Sure, the collective internet would go "Yeah, well it's free because the ending sucked," but free is free. I won't complain or make a fuss, either way.

If it's free "Yay, thanks Bioware!"

If it's $5-$10 "To Youtuuuube!"

I would gladly pay for a real ending, if BioWare went all out with a truly great ending segment that hit all the right notes and really capped the series with a spectacular bang that rewarded all players and the choices they made throughout the series. But if it was just a simple change to the current ending without a lot of thought or effort put in save for enough to appease fans then yeah dishing out 5-10 bucks would be hard.

Pretty much agreed. Either way I want it and I feel that my constant purchases in the past and with ME3 were a business deal for them at the very least...attempting to make a good ending to the game. Which it appears they did not do.

This would be like me asking for one of my employees to write a report on current incoming call trends and him sending me a picture of a phone, an arrow going into it and the word "Lots" written on the arrow. Then when I looked closer it would have 3 buttons on the phone all of them with a "1"

I always thought Shepard was a reference to the way he/she is constantly shepherding the races of the galaxy along to keep the peace and get them pulling in the same direction.

As for the topic of blue babies, I don't really like Liara as a love interest that much and I decided to break it off in my latest play-through to try a different path. The way Asari have bond mates or whatever reminds me too much of Kif's people in Futurama and their "fon fon roo." It's so silly... Almost as silly as a space lesbian taking a shower with her bra and panties on, but at least Traynor was a quirky, likable character (the toothbrush bit killed me).

FemShep / Garrus is the best romance path that I've tried. Great dialog in that one. Though ManShep / Tali isn't bad either.

Even from the first game I thought it was overly pretentious how Shepard's name was a biblical type reference with what he was doing relative to the story.

Where are all the gaming "journalists" that we have on GAF to ask some questions and call Bioware people out on their shit like this?

They're too busy defending a video game developer from fan criticism and giving their games near perfect scores.

Fight on, brave internet knights! Tomorrow, we dance with Mass Effect 4!

I think Bioware said it's more of a reference to Alan Shepard, first man on the moon.

Since the lead writer changed from the transition of ME2->ME3, I'm inclined to believe space jesus came a bit later.

Some places have commented both in favor and against changing the endings. Some are probably looking to be neutral.

And then there's IGN.

Hey guys, I bet you the DLC ending is already on the disc so that all players will be fully compatible with each other.
I thought about this, too. The DLC is actually on the disc but it costs $10 to unlock it. (It's probably not since people are able to sniff around it.)

They attempted to take over the Citadel in the first game.

i just finished

i was expecting the sniper level on big ben tower

nop, doesnt happen :/

still ..awesome journey
Is that guy stupid? He doesn't know what they are? Was Shep honestly ignored that much? :|

Anyway, remember when we all feared that ME3 would just be a shooter because of this teaser? What a crazy assumption that was. Yet, everything about London was surreal and ME became a monochromatic shooter. . . .

Haha, some of those are pretty good. Watching this video right now.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one to get stuck between the turian trio outside the club, lost half an hour of play due to that shit. :(

I would love to know the source for this quote as I can't wrap my head around it if it is true.

Err...

That is supposed to be Major Coates (not sure about the spelling). Near the end of the game he mentions having been part of a sniper/recon mission that took place in the big ben tower. I can't remember any details, but I am pretty sure that was supposed to reference the trailer.

They're too busy defending a video game developer from fan criticism and giving their games near perfect scores.

And also EA would be spending less money for advertising in their publication. And give them less access to new games.

Jim Sterling will tell us within a week, why we are a stupid idiots, because it's their game and they can to what ever they want. Other gaming journalist will join, telling people, that they are stupid as hell, because the only want a Disney ending and EA will write a letter to metacritic and all those negative user scores will suddenly disappear.

This is a lost case. There will be no alternative ending, Bioware will sit this one out.

I think I see why the ending was changed from Dark Energy. It leaves it open to make Mass Effect 4,5, and 6. Were the antagonists will be those created synthetics.

I kinda miss those scuba suits.

It's a travesty that they gave you James Vega instead of British sniper, or heavens forbid an alien of a different species.

DLC?

How? Everything would be synthetic. Even the leaves.

I wonder why they've never given you more than one squad member of the same non-human race at the same time.

It's like, the Normandy has the most diverse crew in the universe, but they'll only take one of you at a time.

Affirmative action man, I bet like, three super qualified asari were turned down just so we could show the galaxy that we also hire krogans, quarians, and turians.

the lack of salarin, namely mordin, in your crew is disappointing

One of the best part of ME2 was him giving out sex advises and singing gilbert and sullivan

He can't be DLC he was in the battle of London pretty much the entire time we were dicking around in space.

It's too bad though. His 5 minutes of screen time were more interesting than all of Vega's.
Doesn't mean they can't have a side story with him and Anderson in London. His model was actually more detailed than some of the others. He seemed important, but at this stage, I guess it wouldn't matter.

You are part of the problem.
The ending sucks, whatever delusion BioWare had in thinking it was going to be acceptable is still beyond me, but I'm not naive or simple minded enough to think that they did this purposefully and willingly gave up in order to make a quick buck. Many of them card as much about this series as many of us. They didn't dedicate their lives developing it for the better part of a decade without caring about it.

And I'm also not so unrealistic to think anything is free. I may be entitled to an ending and conclusion to this series that is fitting, but I'm certainly not entitled to it for free. It still takes takes time and money for BioWare to fix this and as a business and subsidiary of EA, they couldn't just give it away if they even wanted to, they have to make a profit from whatever they do.

Depending on how well a job they do at rectifying this situation will determine if people find it worthwhile to pay for this proposed fix. if they do a poor job people won't buy it and they'll lose money on it, as they would deserve to. It's better than nothing, which is what well get if we expect things for free.
