I consider myself a pretty rational guy. I'm a conservative Christian, I say my prayers and eat my vitamins, but I'll tell you what, if there was any chance that I could sue for irreparable damages (mental) I'd do it. My gaming psyche is scarred for life, and really it all boils down to Bioware doing a masterful job of making me care about the characters and this fictional universe. That ending just doesn't cut it.
Did that PTSD Asari talk about killing Jokers family?
Thats pretty fucked up.
Maybe they thought that different colors was significant enough to claim that there were different endings.
The fuck?
Yeah, no.
It's fine to be upset by the ending but some people are taking it hilariously far. Some dude on the Bioware forums is actually filing a complaint with the FTC and BBB. lul
And then if you authorise her request for a weapon permit she commits suicide.
GOOD JOB SHEPARD.
Did you miss the part where i said it wasnt perfect?
I thought it was a polished game - that doesnt mean its perfect.
Jesus im not sure why i come to these threads anymore - isnt this supposed to be about discussions about ME3, not complaints non stop about the final 5 minutes and stupid memes?
The last stage in London was such an awesome level, i dont see how people can rag on it. From the discussions in here its like people hated the game, i really thought it was excellent and a lot of fun as well.
I lost it and turned off DAO when I encountered the first NPC DLC Salesman.Dragon Age had at least two map locations where you were given a sort of build up to a mission and then had to purchase DLC to continue. Notably there was a lumberyard where you arrived to someone getting murdered by soldiers. After you killed the soldiersi n battle, the dialogue of the guy is similar to
"The man may still live. Wake him?
[Wake him (purchase downloadable content)]
Leave him alone".
Imagine if ME3 did that with solar systems. "The Reapers are attacking a human colony. Assist the colony (purchase content)?"

I'm thinking back to all the great moments in ME3. Mordin's cure. Thane's prayer. Liara's info box.
If they can nail that shit why couldn't they get the ending to be just half as good?
Not American I presume? FTC=Federal Trade Commission, and BBB=Better Business Bureau. Just by the names you should be able to tell how ridiculous going to THEM over ME3 is.No idea what those acronyms mean but it seems the people on that forum are as like minded as the people on this one. So much hate for such a damn good game.

People have a problem with what happens after Shepard collapses, not the things that happen before.
At least Dragon Age 2 was just poor, there wasn't that sinking feeling at the end when you realized that for all the great stuff they did through out the game, they chose to go out on something that wouldn't even qualify as a whimper.
Fucking A.
I do. ME3 game-wise is mediocre at best. The only thing that could have salvaged it was a satisfying endgame.

I won't.
I have forgotten the DA2 ending. What happened? All I remember is that you also had no choice and had to fight both groups regardless of how you played the game, for no reason. It made me LOL.

This entire situation is a classic example of work-place burnout. You've got the Mass Effect team working on ME2 and post release DLC, while at the same time ramping up on full production of ME3 without a break to get it out within 2 years. It was too much.
When you get burned out on something, you just don't give a fuck anymore. You start to resent it. The outcomes from the first 2 games were damn complicated, and by the end they just said "fuck it, space magic."
On top of that, they tore the whole universe down at the end, which could be interpreted as a passive-aggressive way at working out the burnout-tinged resentment.
This is where more supervision at the top at EA would have helped to catch what happened before this became an issue. "Why are you destroying everything in such a vague way? Is that what you really want to do with franchise that has a chance of really taking off next generation?"

How did you guys even manage to finish DA2 I will never understand. I think I gave up during the expedition and that fucking battle... I don't know, I've erased it all from my memory already.
Damn this game can be pretty dark. Lots of suicides and friend killing.
Beat that Witcher 2!
I liked the part on Thessia where we find out the Asari have been hiding a Prothean VI all along. What I didn't get is how it got there. It seemed similar in purpose to the 'Time Capsule' Liara was making in case the current cycle fails.
So was it just a Prothean time capsule or something the Protheans left behind to aid the Asari when they were still primitive as they (Protheans) were being hunted by Harby and the gang?
lol i found this hilarious glitch on a forum.

Yeah, I agree, and I'm also sympathetic to that. If the fans had their way they'd make BioWare churn out Mass Effect games non-stop. As developers, and people, they're probably tired of working on the same damn game and universe year after year and, wrapping up the trilogy, likely wanted to leave it be for a while. End the Shepard trilogy and take a break to do other stuff.
They just happened to do it in the laziest, douchiest and worst written way possible.

It's a hell of a case of franchise self-sabotage. Casey Hudson had to know how infuriating the ending was going to be. Why let Walters run with it without vetting from the other writers?
The Asari, like humans and many other species, were subject to Prothean observation while they were in tribal/neanderthalic states. The 'Goddess' that the Asari always speak of, and is part of their legends, was really just Protheans. Their legends of the 'Goddess', the first Asari, teaching them how to write, build and invent was just Prothean meddling in their culture.
There's a beacon on Thessia for the same reason there's a beacon/ruins on Mars.
