Sex scene question (for the achievement, I swear):
If I'm about to head to Ilos, have I missed the opportunity to make Shepard get down?

On that note, fuck Ashley. What a fickle, confusing bitch she is.

Liara came to me right before getting to Ilos and told me she wanted my tits. Or something of that nature. Anyway, up until you're actually on Ilos, I think you still have a chance.

Well I had a cutscene while I was on the Citadel after Varmire, while the Normandy was grounded, and Ashley came over and said she wanted to make Shepard happy, so he got up and then they were about to kiss and then Anderson called about meeting in Flux. I thought it might have happened then. Would it be sometime after that? Because that was one of the only cutscenes between returning to the Citadel and leaving for Ilos. Or are there like stages of success for the woman mini-game?

The cutscene will absolutely happen after that near-kiss cutscene, but before you land on Ilos. If I remember correctly, confirming that you want to land on Ilos will trigger the cutscene. If you didn't get to see it by the time you're on Ilos, I don't know what to tell you man. Not smooth enough?

:lol

I haven't chosen to go to Ilos yet; I figured I should go to bed before the sun comes up. If you see me in here tomorrow cursing about Ashley and how fucking unreadable she is, then you'll know I wasn't smooth enough. I swear to god, sometimes you have to treat her like shit for her to be attracted, and then sometimes you be Mr. Paragon and she's charmed out of her boots. If I find out I didn't give her enough correct responses, I'm leaving her ass for dead on Varmire my next time through the game.

Speaking of that, that whole level was utterly fantastic. Can't wait to see the finale when I play tomorrow.

Then I guess BioWare created a perfect depiction of a human female. :lol

Apparently. Sign me up for the next shuttle to the asari homeworld.

Seriously.

Thinking about it now, though, the future is full of ugly species. I'd bang an Asari and maybe a Quarian depending on what's under their mysterious veils, but there's no way I'm getting down with a Krogan or Turian (or Salarian or Elcor or any other ME race that we know about).

Two questions...both of which entirely related:

1) You can only have one romance, correct?

2) Is Ashley up for lesbo
?

I also love how this thread is exactly as I imagined it would be...so much 'romance' talk :lol

:(

Nearly picked this up today for £39.99, so tempted because of you gaf but I need to hold out untill christmas break, I have more uni work then I care to think about.

1. Yup, only one
2. Nope, can't sex up Ashley if your a chick

I cleared Noveria (if I spelt that right) yesterday.

I'm not sure I did the Mako bit right.

I died twice trying to shoot my way through the barricades, eventually I just decided to ram my way through without shooting anyone or anything, and got through to the area 15 that way. Was that what I was meant to do? Because when I was shooting stuff the other times they kept draining my health and I don't think I killed a single enemy with my shots... So was I doing something wrong, or was I just meant to ram my way through like that?

I bought it online for £32, from Ebay. Yes, I have a lot of Uni work at the moment but...Mass Effect is just too good to miss.

I took my time and just shot from a distance. Just keep winding around the mountains and going through the tunnels

Figures and fuck damn it

My male uber-paragon vanguard already has Liara in his grasp but gave no attention to Ashley...now my female uber-renegade biotic (just made the character, class name is wrong, most likely) is getting different scenarios that are putting what's his human face in my path instead of ashley. Had I known that female characters could only go blue or with dudes I would have made my male character chase ashley down

damn bioware and their human on human lesbo hate

i think it also matters how much you agree with Liara too. i had them both on Noveria and
sided with Liara to save the queen Rahkni. i think at that moment Ash decided not to fuck me.

Finished the game, mostly focusing on the main quest, in about 17 hours.
Fighting through enemies in the Citadel at the end
was truly epic, but my Paragon ending left some to be desired,
including Mass Effect 2
. Will be doing a renegade next.

One thing: aside from the obvious dialogs and ending, is being a Paragon have any effects on anything at all? Kotor was great to me because of a clear distinction between the two choices. I'll go through the game again, and do all the side quests, but I'm wondering how much of what you do is really reflected in things around you.

I was trying to get with Ashley at first(this was before I found out she'd never put out for a woman) but she started talking about
God
and before I knew it I....meh.

Yep I left her to die in Virmire.

Really? That's when I decided on her :lol Judging by the conversations Liana's giving me...I think she's farther along with my male character. Gotta start being an ass to her.

I parked the Mako and did that part with the sniper rifle. There's no "right" way to do it, although if you can't kill things with the Mako you may not know that LT is aiming mode, and clicking the right stick zooms in. And the Mako has a cannon on the RB.

:lol Didn't know that.

I didn't see a keybinding screen in the options...I think this game could've really used one.

Sometimes it's just easier to hop out and fight on foot. Sure some of the enemy shots can cripple or even kill you instantly but it's so much more thrilling.

I actually ran into a fight last night against
some geth in an optional quest (Geth Investigation was the name, IIRC) where I was getting my ass handed to me in the Mako...I got out the thing and charged the enemies, dodging instant killing attacks by a quarter of an inch and slowly winding each of the enemies down until I was the only one standing...it was pretty awesome and changed how I tackle the harder Mako fights (thought I still use the Mako to take out enemies with ballistic weaponry).
It gave me a very Monster Hunter-like vibe--always being 1millisecond away from sudden death and eventually standing victorious--that no other narrative heavy RPG had given me before (infinity engine excluded)

I'm level 14. Do items you find/can purchase get better the higher your level or am I just not looking in the right places? It seems most of the stuff I get is kinda meh. Also, the most money I've had at any one time so far is only 24,000 credits. How are you guys getting over a million credits? Do you sell all your stuff or what?

Yeah, be patient. Money will start pouring in.

Just search around A LOT and you will find stuff. Also, always bring someone with you (I always pick Kaiden) who is good with Electronics so they can decode Security lockers, storage containers, etc. That is where all the good stuff is.

Items level with you so you will get better items and more money-per-enemy as you progress.

While you're on a planet's surface, survey. Tons of money to be had. I personally don't think there's any real reason to use money outside of
buying licenses and raising your max number of medi-gel/grenade slots

Oh I do like how getting achievements actually unlocks bonuses. More games should do that.

In the main menu check out achievements under the rewards section. Some of them don't do anything(aside from points), but others add stuff like +10% health, the ability to add weapon training for a certain class on a new character, etc.

Have you checked out the guy on the Citadel that sells you better shit because you're a Spectre? He's on the far right of the Market district.
Having said that, all the things he sells are 100k+ iirc making them almost impossible to buy at that stage. Plus, they're all obtainable sooner or later just from enemy drops so it's a waste of money however you look at it.

I had the exact same problem with credits. I read on several reviews that money was useless and you end up having trillions with nothing to spend them on. I couldn't comprehend that because money was so difficult to come by and it seemed impossible for me to even break 100k. This all changed once I hit the mid 20s and the amount of money I made from different things jumped greatly. At my current level (37) I'm getting 13.5k for every Anomaly discovery I make on planets, and around 3-5k per enemy I kill. As you can imagine it's very easy to acquire wealth now and I finally got the Rich achievement yesterday.

So my advice is to just ignore buying any weapons or armor for now - only spend your money buying Medi-gel and Grenade slot upgrades as well as shop licenses. Just do a lot of sidequests and build your level up and you'll amass plenty of cash soon enough.

I recently checked back to find that
Spectre-issued
weapons were available for purchase. The cheapest being the pistol setting me back 180k and the most expensive being the assault rifle costing 280k. The stats are ludicrously high, easily overshadowing everything else available at this stage. I'm pretty sure they are the final weapons since the stats bars are virtually full where power and accuracy are concerned. They look shit hot too.

-----------------------

On a ROMANCE note... I've been trying to flirt with Liara as my female Shepard and I seem to blow it everytime. It all seems to go well until I presumably go too far and Liara nervously asks me to change the subject. This has happened twice already and I've yet to be given another opportunity to flirt. Our conversations only concern her race and her family. :\
Is it possible that I've cocked it up already? Or do I just have to do some more missions and keep trying? I want that damn achievement GAF! A lesbian in distress!

They become available to purchase from the dealer in your ship and in C-Sec at the Citadel after you receive the "I'm Rich" achievement.
