Aww jeez, not this bullshit again.

The 2nd sentence of the OP's post says it all:

"But many Iraqis as well as U.S. officials and private security analysts are uncertain whether the current lull signals a long-term trend or is simply a breathing spell like so many others before."

Also since we're discussing 2004:

"The Pentagon is spending more than $5.8 billion a month on the war in Iraq, according to the military's top generals."

Now let's fast forward to 2008...

The Cost of Iraq War Broken Down
Per Month: $10.3 billion

^^It should be noted that $10.3 billion is a conservative number. Most have said it is $12 billion^^

Kinda hard to call that progress.

Ooh, witty.

But more accurate. The government of any democracy, even a purported one, is a reflection of the populace. Iraq's people want us out, it's only a matter of time before they elect leaders that reflect that perspective if the US will let them.

So putting the dominate religious sect of Iran into power in Iraq is increasing our security in the middle east? God I really hate Republican apologists anymore.

Unless you are Haliburton or Blackwater.

I was talking about the government. And what happened to that proposal? The Iraq government has yet to tell the US to get out. Anyway, that proposal was for a gradual withdrawal anyway. Not for the US to leave immediately.

Everyone knows were not pulling out immediatelly and all at once. When people say we want a withdrawel most everyone knows that means a gradual process. It has to be, even Ron Paul knows that. Iraqi citizens and the majority of there government want us to leave, what else do you have left to defend the occupation?
