Mel Gibson is planning a sequel to Passion of the Christ

I don't know how much story there is in the resurrection. I mean, Jesus comes back, does a victory tour, and then leaves.

You could probably fit the whole thing into a post-credits scene for the original Passion movie and then fade to a "Jesus will Return", Marvel style.

It opens with this?

I hope Jesus has a list on his notepad.

I'm not a religious person, but I thought the first one had some pretty cool moments. I don't remember much, but I remember not hating it.

I would totally watch this if LL Cool J played Jesus. I would totally watch it if that were the case.

It really was for the most part a by the numbers movie. Nothing really offensive or anything. People always take issue with the violence but hey scourging etc. was not a walk in the park and the movie made no effort to hide the brutality.

The early Christianity film that needs his talent is one about lions and tigers mauling martyrs in the coliseum. Now that would be a tense movie from beginning to end.

Jokes aside, if this film depicted the Harrowing of Hell, that would be all sorts of badass. Jesus just putting down demons with a single hand while tearing open Hell's gates to rescue the souls inside.

This is what I was thinking. Seems like it has a lot more potential than a film just about the Resurrection.

I hope he uses the famous verse: "I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I'm all out of bubblegum."

Christ and Christerer.

Considering how much the first movie made, which dealt with all the violent parts, the sequel dealing with all the good comeback parts is going to do insanely well. It's like Return of the King meets Return of the Jedi.

Presumably with lots of flashbacks so we can still get all of our violence, yes?

Or will Jesus literally be beating the shit out of demons in Hell?
