It should be a crime drama, something like 12 Angry Men.

Jesus comes back and different people recount their version of the events which preceded and we have to wonder if he really resurrected or if it was his twin brother on the cross.

How? Does Mel know something we don't? If so, I know a guy in the Vatican who would love to know the details.

Passion 2: Bloody Knight Rises

Passion 3: Paul and the Apostles Go to Jail

Passion 4: Nice Fever Dreams, World Up In Smoke

Passion 5: Christians Rape, Conquer and Enslave the World for Jesus

Couldn't think of a movie quote for that last one.

wonder how far into apocrypha we'll get. mel's supposedly devout so I doubt we'll get those particular post crucifixion stories, unless he's going to go hard core into special effects.

He was chilling for 40 days after his resurrection before going to outer space and the bible barely touches on what happened in those 40 days so there is lots of room to be creative.

Only if it has scenes from when Jesus goes to hell.

Anyway, if Jim Caviezel didn't die filming the last one (because holy shit, something didn't want it to be filmed), he's certainly not surviving this one. Hope that one stays as a joke, really like Jim.

This film needs to show how far the world has fallen in three days, and have one of the Apostles refusing to believe Jesus is dead and working in secret on a way to bring him back. Throw in Mary Magdalene being suspicious of Judas, Jesus in Heaven begging to go back and being told to 'sit Jesus, sit', and then have Jesus go back with full on 'I AM YOUR NEW GOD' superpowers before learning to be humble...

Also he can't just walk out of the cave, there needs to be an almighty explosion, and then show Jesus walking through the fire with his wounds healing before our very eyes.

Then go full strength crazy and have Jesus go out of control, and God realises the only way to stop Jesus from cleansing the Earth is to form an alliance with Lucifer... his wayward son. So the film ends with Jesus and Lucifer razing about to raze the Earth until Mary shows up on a camel singing 'Three Wise Men They Travel Afar' and tell Jesus she loves him to the end of time... while I don't know, fucking Peter throws a bottle full of flaming dog shit at Lucifer.

1 BILLION GUARANTEED.

This actually isn't an awful idea but people would go berserk.

Bad idea that will only create controversy, you can't make a sequel to that movie it is a really bad idea. Why not make a sequel to Apocalypto or a movie similar to Braveheart?

Did the "Passion..." end at the crucifixion ? A movie that takes place during the three days that follow would actually be interesting. People close to Jesus talking about him, remembering past events, discussing the future of their faith etc.
Not sure that's what Gibson has in mind since he seems to be all about pure religious thingies, but there's potential.

might as well have Jesus in bondage or gimp suit getting spanked non-stop for 2 hours while he's drenched in red wine as jews mosh pit around him. to jewish music..
