I think it was the right OT for its time (2008) but NeoGAF has changed so much that I don't think a 40 posts OT is still something people want.

And, as I've said before, I don't want to use the entire MGS history in this OT. This isn't a Solid Snake game. It's a Big Boss game. In my opinion, it's useless to include Metal Gear Solid 4 etc when that stuff happens AFTER Metal Gear Solid V. I want to include a timeline and stuff, but just use things that have happened before V. So MGS3, PO, PW and Ground Zeroes.

Feel free to disagree with my vision of the OT, but it's not like I'll just drop this shit a day before release. I'll make sure to send the final version to a couple of MGS-GAF members so you guys can judge it before release.

I agree. Please don't bloat the OT with a plot synopsis of every previous MG game. That's what wikipedia is for.

Oh wait Dawg you're making the OT? Nice. Also I agree, I enjoyed BruceLeeRoy's OT but it's only really that popular for it's length, and that's probably not necessary this time around.

I completely agree with this. Of course this whole game series is about Big Boss, but all Solid Snake games is not needed there, because as you said all this happened after MGSV. MGS4 thread was good with this, because in game timeline it was the last one.

And there will be many people who only played GZ and PP, and after PP maybe they will want to play games that shows events after MGSV, so no spoilers for them. Maybe just include timeline, so people can see what they should play next and that will be enough.

Hahaha! Dawg's got this on lock. I'm not sure whether or not IP is still interested in doing the MGO3 OT. Seems like he's got a lot going on right now. If he doesn't want it, I'd be happy to take it (well, again, :lol).

I agree with you that in a MGSV OT you don't need synopsis of every game and back story of all characters. Only the most relevant games to MGSV, like the ones you mentioned.

But in a Community Thread like this one, it's needed. LD has created such an incredible OT.

So now i own a 3ds... against my will. MH4 forced my hand.

But i did get some more games, including pokemon.

Anyone up for playing some? or any recommendations on the 3ds? i work on the platform, and i don't even keep up with it haha.

also.. been really enjoying the order.

Well yeah, that's why I said I was impressed with LD's OP as he did the entire history.

In fact, I'm gonna link to his OP (probably OT6 by then :smugface) in the OT!

As long as I am doing the Community Threads, I would like to do something fresh with each one. Maybe not massive overhauls, but maybe visual ones. Like, just present it a bit differently each time!

Unfortunately, it's been a while since I played 3DS. I plan on picking up a new one within the next two weeks! (Still gotta play Persona Q. I feel really bad about not playing it, because I've had it sitting next to me forever.) Gonna try and get the Majora's Mask New 3DS or the Monster Hunter one. Debating, though! (Also, haha, Brau.)

I don't have smash on the 3ds. but i do own it on the wiiU. do you own the wiiU? i tried playing the game on the 3ds and it feels just weird.

how is persona q? i got a whole bunch of zelda games.. my first pokemon haha never played it, so i am kinda excited for that.

MH4 is amazing tho.. so i am quite happy. The actual new 3ds device is really nice, and the 3d tracking actually makes me want to play games with stereo on.

Finished the main Ground Zeroes mission, I am now officially fucking stoked for MGSV. That was a fantastic little experience.

(Probably still nowhere near as insanely stoked as some of you though)

I guess it does kinda suck for an artist to be stuck on games like that. But, well, it pays eh? I hope you'll get to work on cooler things in the future, bro.

I've only played Persona Q for a little bit, but the character interaction in it is so entertaining. The battle system takes a little getting us to as well.

I'll have to check the tour cities. I saw them in Philadelphia in 2004. Awesome show. I haven't been to any concert in years. I think Genesis in 2007 was my last concert.

yea... i almost got into Sucker Punch back in 2008 before they started work on Second Son for a texture artist position... but they changed the role to Lead Texture Artist. :(

and... recently i just got through interviews with another big big studio... they asked me to follow up with them at the end of the year when they wrap up their big title. I can show you guys some of my art on PM if someone is interested. I do photoshop edits here all day.. but i do tons of 3d work.

Nope. Finished Peace Walker this week, and Metal Gear Solid 1/2/3/4 over the years (all of them quite a bit after launch though).

Going into Ground Zeroes with Peace Walker fresh in mind was fun, makes you appreciate the upgraded mechanics, graphics etc. even more.
