Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance |OT| A Blade Forged In Platinum [LAW OF THE WILD]

I am more than halfway through the game and have just discovered those blue item boxes can be opened with blade mode. I have opened none of them.

What have I missed?
There's a Max health in every level in a blue box. The only way to get 200% health is finding them all along with the store bought ones

And you're gonna want all that health for Very Hard

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
Oh, I gotcha.

That comes with the Soundtrack for the Limited Edition [and copies from Wal-Mart, I guess].

I'm not sure if they'll start selling that version later on its own, or not. :(

Well that sucks, anyway thanks.

Edit: welp, at least i found them on youtube.

Yeah, if a game is going to top this in 2013, it will need to literally make me shit myself. If it can do that, I will acknowledge that Metal Gear Rising is not the best game of this year.

But right now, it is.

I need to fight Mistral and Monsoon again, back to back, one hundred times.

And I need it to be hard. How hard? Hard as balls.

so in the final game the boos themes are all in "maniac agenda remix version"?
i find the "normal version" that has leaked early on the internet, superior for pretty much every boss theme.

Isn't the in game version like a mix between instrumental and then ends in the remixed vocals version?

Okay I will never beat the final boss.
This is worse than any QTE. I don't know how I should do it this fast...I can't even see where the "line" is when I have to cut those rocks

I marathoned the game on Hard yesterday and didn't have too much trouble with any part until I got to the final boss, where I spent about a half hour stubbornly getting killed by
the metal gear parts that Armstrong throws because I'm terrible at using analog sticks for precision aiming in any game, and the Muramasa drains your Blade Mode really quickly. Then I realized that you can actually just Ninja Run to the side (don't trigger Blade Mode when prompted and just keep running in a direction) and I stomped over him immediately. Went back later and did all the cutting stuff, and successful completion just gives you some health items. He'll do it a few more times in the fight but it's never required to cut all that stuff to beat him.

Edit:
Oh, and if you're having trouble with cutting the buildings then be aware that there's another part of the fight that requires some precise Blade Mode usage later, but it's telegraphed and you should have enough time to get into position once you know what to look for.

i don'0't know,in europe the game is not out yet,i'ma asking because on youtube now most of the themes added are in this "remix" form, that is quite different from what leaked before the game was out.

Sry I don't get it. I can't beat him. Imo they fucked it up with this stupid *****
No spoiler. You all have to see it for yourself. It's just....no......no....no.

I remember the lyrics in the Mistral theme were different from what made it into the final game. Something about "burning up in the atmosphere," and that isn't said at all on the official soundtrack.

Ok i must be doing something incredibly wrong. Im foghting the lad wolf and getting demolished partly due to the horrendous camera and partly due to the fact that i havent figured out the parry system to yet. So you hold the direction toward the enemry and press square, correct? Now do you do this when the red light flashes or just when the attack is about to land? It seems to vary and i cant figure it out.

The story is quite awesome, btw.
And it manages to do social satire better with 2-3 good talks than DmC ever managed to do in its whole. Weird.

I was expecting Bayonetta-style of crazy, but this is much more sharp, more focused. Like a blade.

When the attack's about to land. It's easier if you, instead of holding the direction towards the enemy, press the stick in the enemy's direction as you hit the attack button.

Apparently, they're so bad that GAF knows to ban the image?

Played through the first two chapters in the JP version last night. Guys, this game makes me so god damn happy. =')

Seriously. I'm playing this and am like "oh yeah, this is why I liked games."

OK thats what i figured. But then on some of the ranged attacks, Raiden goes into a defensive stance as i hold toward and square in the time between the red flash and the second or two before the attack actually launches.

Ahaha I can't believe you did that! It's fucking brilliant!

Yeah, if you're blocking, then it's just a matter of timing. Blocking means you're doing it too early.

Oh, in game the music usually starts out without vocals. It's only in the very last sequence or final minutes of the fight when vocals kick in.

Well after finishing the prologue and first 2 chapters found it to be a bit easy going and nothing too technical and then just finished the Monsoon fight and damn did Platinum turn it up to 11 right there. Despite what I've heard about the short length if the rest is anything as adrenaline pumping as that fight this has a load of replayability for me.

Same here! It's a lot of fun, but my only complaint is the camera. It feels too close and I wish it was pulled back a little. Other than that the game plays really well. I'm rocking the Grey Fox skin, so badass! I wish they put a filter on Raiden's voice when using it so he sounds more like Grey Fox.

Conversations are MGS series quality too. The
sombrero
conversation with Courtney is hilarious!

Pretty sure I went through like 7 health packs fighting Monsoon lol, dude is tough. Will definitely need to try harder on the next playthrough.

It's the right combo of crazy story, well directed action cutscenes, music, and gameplay that actually matches the craziness in the cutscenes. I'm also a huge Metal Gear fan and this is totally living up to my expectations. I'm spending a stupid amount of time listening to codec conversations. >.<

Trying to get lower than 40 seconds on the first VR Mission is FUCKING infuriating. Lowest I've gotten is 41 seconds. It ENTIRELY depends on what attack the Gekko decides to use. Nothing I love more than when a game sets it's score times using PURE CHANCE.

I saved up for the Fox Blade but now I think it was kind of OP to buy on my first playthrough, even if it's on hard. Oh well.
