The first dungeon was truly great, but not everything is a big upgrade.
So far i am about 8h (6/20) in and the amount of voice acting seems way lower than any Atlus game in the last few years including budget ones like Tactica, it feels like only about 20-30% of the main story is voice acted once you get past what was included in the demo and so far there was zero for "social links" with the exception of accepting the request from Brigitta.

Pretty clear step-down compared to Reload which sold for 70 too and had 100% for not just the main, but also companion stories, which is a shame since the cast is pretty great. Anyone who is more further on can comment if the later parts have more?
Once you get to the second town it really opens up in terms of social links, bounties, etc.

Persona 3 Reload is remake they actually when back and voiced parts that wasn't voiced before, because all other Persona game before Reload was same case as Metaphor, not everything is voiced.
I know thats why ive included the "in the last few years" part, Royal for example had just the start and endings for confidants (which dont seem to be here unfortunately), but given that its priced at 70 which is the same as Reload that also came out this year id say its reasonable to expect the same. I am still having a great time, but itd be nice to have more.

Good to know, i think ill get there pretty soon, the plot is very intriguing so far.

Dont get me wrong, I also wish it had more voices because honestly english voices is done REALLY well here even compare to Atlus's pervious games.

How good is Atlus with post launch support such as patches? I hope they add some AA solutions but maybe I shouldn't hold my breath.

Pathway hole are no always on same floor, one of them I found was on different floor that connects to locked place.

Found it, it was on a pretty obvious place, I totally missed it.

The Gestapor boss fight was tough. Really need to plan my turns between buffs, attacks and guard.

On another note, I can't get enough how fucking cool skate swording is.

The only other game that I can think of that pulled something like this was DMC3, but with a total different purpose.

Oh man, these imgur embeds still don't work properly here on GAF. :lollipop_pensive:

Anyway, I just can't get enough of these sceneries! They make the perfect advertisements for 'touristy' spots in the Kingdom of Euchronia.

Just finished the demo. Really enjoyed it. Shame about the obscene price on Steam in my shitty useless currency. I'll have to ponder for a while.

HRK69 HRK69 Yeah, it does kinda resemble a crashed plane.

I finished the Kriegante Castle dungeon on the main story path, and man, I didn't expect things to get so dark and messed up. Definitely the highlight of the game for me so far. Heismay introduction & backstory was also very well written into this particular chapter of the story and quickly became my favorite member of the party.

On a more positive note, still loving these funny moments with the gang. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

The Synthesis attacks varying depending on which archetypes you have on your party is really cool.

Gives multiples approaches depending on who you're facing.

On a side note, I need the MC background animated on Wallpaper Engine so bad. It's amazing.

And unlike P3Reload's Theurgy, they not crazy OP and they are risky to use because they use up multiple of your press turns.

Depends, in 1-2 years there will be a royal pr golden Edition with double the content which needs to be purchased at full price, and no upgrade option for the original version...

Joking aside, I wouldn't expect Atlus to add any form of modern AA solution to Metaphor due to the engine being so old/archaic (though I do hope I'm wrong).

There are so many games that put out a full priced definitive/complete edition and nobody is crying about those

I'm taking a fat shit mid boss fight.

I was holding it in to complete the whole dungeon but had a brown gopher playing peekaboo with my asshole.

First game in a long time I can't put down even to eat or restroom.

Have all of next week at home since my trip is cancelled. Going to grind hard!

Steam Deck/PS Portal moment.

FUCK

(early game spoiler) :

I think I royally fucked up. I equipped Grius with the sword I got from behind the dragon and now he's been murdered but I didn't get the weapon back after his death cutscene.

Might have to go back and find an old save.

I did the same and I was a bit worried too.

But no need. You'll get it back.

you can lose party members with permanent death???

I cannot stress how good this game is if you're a fan of Jrpg's in the classic sense.

In the best way possible it feels like I'm playing a peak late 90's/early 2000's jrpg but with all the QoL and modern sensibilities sprinkled on top. This plot just continues to move forward at breakneck pace, it's compelling.

Just remembered that I took this pic with my phone the other day... In some enclosed spaces, like this tavern, you can get anywhere from 80 to 90 fps while playing on PS5.

I hope the PS5 Pro can brute-force the frame rate to make it more consistent, or at least ensure it doesn't drop below 60 fps during more intensive scenes. In any case, I'm gonna test it once I have the Pro on my hands.

I've been on merchant since I unlocked it. Every level up I just put the 1000 exp item into a different class I'm not playing to level them as well lol.

Merchant is too good to let go.

So what class are you guys choosing for your MC first?

I'm currently playing as a mage because I don't see both Strolh and Hulkenberg as ones.

Strolh is on his initial class, Hulkenberg I changed to Brawler. Animations are fire.

But I'm trying to have multiple archetypes available. Currently have 3 for MC above level 10.

And to think this game got lot to of shit because the "graphics" were not high tech enough.

Currently this game is right there with Unicorn Overlord as my GOTY.

Does Seeker even have any worthwhile abilities that incentize sticking with it?
I honestly don't know. Haven't dwelved extensively into that territory yet.

One thing you need to keep in mind are the Synthesis abilities. For example, Mage with Warrior and Brawler has 0 for me.

I'm letting it slide for now because I'm more interested in leveling the archetype itself and I'm still very early in the game, but I'll need to change that eventually.

On the other hand, Warrior + Brawler game me a heavy pierce skill this early on, which is kind of OP.
