We like to shit on MS because Sony still shows off some games along side all of their motion bullshit. MS shows off the same COD demo every year and like 1 exclusive (gears or halo) and the rest is Kinect and dumb non-gaming apps.

If Move was more popular they would dedicate more of their conference to it. It is a sales conference first and foremost and these companies push what they want to sell.

Don't really see why it's all that outlandish. Nintendo is going to be doing a complete reveal of a new console that we still have yet to really see in action. By contrast the other two are seemingly going to have nothing terribly new to report. MS is going to be riding that Halo 4/COD/Kinect hype train, and Sony is going to be trying to salvage public perception of the Vita and showing off its renewed focus on gaming as part of Kaz's overall strategy for the company.

I'm expecting to see some cool stuff at the MS and Sony shows, of course, but Nintendo is clearly the main event here this year, unless something rather drastic changes in the next month and a half.

I don't know, you do have a point, but IMO it's all down to perception. All Nintendo would really have to do is showcase a handful of their games on the Wii-U and their fanbase is happy, but that doesn't really mean the rest of us are going to go ga-ga over it.

For me at least, if I don't see something even remotely "next gen" from Nintendo, then there will be very little for me to get excited over. I understand the excitement that surrounds a new console, but if all it does is showcase games we're used to seeing this gen, that's not enough for me.

Not that I'm saying there's anything wrong with people getting excited about a HD Mario, I just don't think that excitement would speak for everyone else (obviously). =p

To be fair, though, MS has had the worst recent conferences by far. It hasn't even been close.

Also, LOL at the Kinect hate in here. Deal with it, GAF.

Eh, they have all been rather ho-hum IMO. Sony has a few exclusives, shows off 3rd party games, shows off move games, and now Vita. MS show off a couple exclusives, shows off some 3rd party games, shows off Kinect games, and reveal Live updates. Nintendo shows off some Wii and 3DS software (likely all or most exclusive) and now also showing off the Wii-U. In this last case, the Wii-U reveal was rather......meh IMO.

If there's something you see off with my break down, would be happy to see your opinion on it.

You shit on MS because they have been a leader in seeing where gaming is going and capitalizing on it...and you don't like where that is.

That dumb Kinect shit is aimed at people like me who has been gaming for years and have a family and disposable income, not NeoGaf "hardcore"

MS started behind the curve when the Wii took everyone by surprise. They have adapted and are the closest of all 3 to the entertainment box that they said was their plan and their future is rosy.

I don't like paying for LIVE either but it is worth it compared to what the competition offers

Nintendo has pretty much left the Wii out to pasture to get a piece of the 3rd party pie and Sony does not seem to have a fucking clue what it's vision is for any of it's divisions.

Not expecting much too be honest, i think their next console is gonna be an E3 2013 reveal.
I expect this conference too go something like.

- Live demo of COD black ops 2 (some exclusive map or some shit like that)
- Some new apps that no one cares about
- Spend 15 minutes talking about the sales of the 360 and xboxlive
- Forza Horizon demo
- Bunch of Kinect stuff
- Halo 4 demo to close things out

That's exactly what I'm expecting...we'll be lucky if a new traditional exclusive game will be revealed, it looks like MS is pushing a lot of titles to their next gen system.

Hopefully MS & Sony will have some surprises this year but I doubt we'll see something worth talking about...Ninty can easily steal the show this year, let's see if they will.

Sony's show should be relatively good as it's always been for the past few of years.

Nintendo's will be the best. I mean, it HAS to. They completely bombed last time, and the Wii U is coming out this year. I don't think failing to deliver again is really possible for them.
