Trying to stay relevant?. I know you hate Microsoft, and they live in your mind 'Rent Free', but thats one funny take. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

More like spreading their eggs around. With the ARM threat they should use their cash on having more secured investments in the long run. Google has already pushed out Microsoft Office from many of our government for example as for school we're using Google's documents, excel-like and powerpoint-like apps with other apps like Classroom and Meet. You need to be agile to avoid getting caught with your pants down like Nokia when they laughed at Google and now they exist in the museums.

I love these delusions. Fine you don't like MS but at least inform yourself and take a stance based on facts or events if you're going to post. I cannot be bothered educating you but you're off base at best.

Shitpost. Not surprised!
Thanks for your feedback! It was so informative!

😂 people do love MS!
Again we use Windows because they blocked any other OS in the 90s and damaged Linux os reputation preventing from getting any good!

just go look at some articles about it! This is ridiculous! People defending big companies...
Nothing in my post said I was defending them. I know they're an evil monopoly, but what the hell am I going to do about it?

I'm simply stating facts. Facts that you have to eventually accept like the rest of us.

Let me see.. I just posted some minutes ago talking badly of MS and Sony and 1 week ago I wrote that Nintendo “builds cheap plastic consoles ”

They moving to subscription models for their software has made them retarded amounts of money.

Google is competing now aggressively with offering most of the relevant apps even for free for your current Gmail cloud storage capacity at 16GB. Here our ministry of education gives each teacher 1TB cloud, which is an overkill actually. I think it's the same situation of Netflix facing too much competition at the end which hurts them eventually and the rest, but of course this models is 100% profitable in comparison and at worst scenarios you get to share your pie with competitors.

Goes into azure and office (voice dictation etc) and they would be happy but not sure if how valuable Nuance is but I haven't had to use it any of their products for ages.

Might also help our their revised cortana offering.

I think its shocking how so many of you are ok with all these corporate buyouts and mergers. This is the type of thing the gov went after MS for years ago, yet in todays climate we have people here ushering in these multinational corps having more power over people. Sickening.

Personally I am more concerned with abuse of current 'monopoly' power than potential monopolies that might occur (also that does not mean that I am okay with all of these mergers though neither the zenimax nor nuance is as concerning as the google/fitbit one)

Personally my current energy is going to trying to get similar measures that was applied to Microsoft in the 90's to be done to ios and android as I think it has a more material harm to consumers. This is a week when we got the emails from Apple admitting that iMessage is a real thing for them. Then also getting Google/YouTube and Amazon/amazon brand to be scrutinised more.

Why? They just pretty much axed Cortana. Why invest in voice recongition then? And why Nuance? Can anyone explain what they do and what their market penetration is?
They axed cortana for consumer usage, their vision of the future of voice assistants alongside other is to have feature/vertical specific assistants that work with each other instead of one overarching one. So Cortana would slowly be incorporated into Office 365. Its also to allow Microsoft to sell Nuance to businesses via Azure.

Not sure about the other two questions.

Looks like being a deep state shill and taking billions from the US military pays off. Congrats to the richest man on the planet to keep swallowing other companies up. It must be easier than making the technology yourself.

Actually sad people are cheering this shit on.

Capitalism is awesome!! 🥳

Now being serious! MS is so rich that .. we have “pay for online” and micro transactions on their own games amongst other things and people still celebrate that company spends money... mind blowing, does not make sense!

Off topic, does anyone remember that MS AI that turned into a nazi? Oh man scary times... are coming.

I do, was hilarious.

My friends sell nuance dragon to professionals.

They were hoping it fail.

From a vender perspective, they would probably be forced to sell MS cloud packages, like office live plus dragon, etc.

Good news for MS indeed, but can't see the gaming side of this report.
Nuance Communications, Inc. provides conversational artificial intelligence (AI). The Company delivers solutions that understands, analyzes and responds to people. The Company provides healthcare AI solutions and services, omni-channel customer engagement and Dragon consumer and enterprise. The Company works with various organizations across healthcare, financial services, telecommunications, government and retail.

They have like over 50mll. unsold Kinects of first generation and 100mll. of second that need to be "sold" to hospitals, clinics, meeting rooms, police stations, prisons, cop cars, striper clubs ...

And they want to improve their Cortana A.I and "convince" their G.P.U fanbase to sign up at pre-selected hospitals, clinics, medics of their choice ... all for a small "token" in exchange.

Nuance is Dragon Medical which is now pretty much the only medical dictation software on the market.
So MS will now get those sweet heal$care $$$$

Sure someone smarter than me could imagine this merger paired with the exclusive license of the gpt-3 model

Microsoft are such a joke. Can't spend 50 millions dollars to make a proper Killer Instinct, Conker or Banjo. But hey let's put 20 billions into randoms stuffs.. And then they beg me to spend money in their shitty service with just a bunch of old games i don't care about or games i already own

And you want me to respect this company, fuck them seriously. I'm so glad i never spend 1$ on MS product since post Xbox 360.

Is MS just printing money or something?
They are pretty succesful these days afaik

So I thought getting Zenimax for 7.5billion was crazy but in the end they make a ton of popular games played by millions worldwide, but now they go and buy freakin Nuance (??) for 20 billion, so gaming is still a small part of the whole MS.

They purchased LinkedIn for $26 Billion in 2016. If it's a purchase that has the potential to impact their business, especially if it could do so throughout their entire portfolio of products/services... they'll make the purchase. In comparison Apples biggest purchase, to date, is still Beats for $3 Billion. I think the current biggest purchase by a tech company is Dell coming in at $67 Billion!

Sometimes it makes more sense to buy an already existing technology than start from the ground up and create your own, especially if you're already behind the 8-ball.
