The Rangers, trying to solve that power void, tried to pull off a blockbuster deal for Atlanta Braves outfielder Justin Upton before the July 31 trade deadline. The Rangers offered starter Matt Garza, All-Star closer Joe Nathan and outfielder David Murphy, but they were rejected, two high-ranking club officials told USA TODAY Sports. They spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were unauthorized to publicly talk about personnel decisions.
At least they tried.
lmao at that joke offerAt least they tried.
this though has some meritI'm sure they could reel in BJ Upton.

Here's the thing: It's not just the offense. Derek Holland has been a mess this month. Over his last 10 starts, Matt Garza has allowed four or more earned runs seven times. The biggest fears of the Rangers' front office that was pressured by ownership to deal for Garza are proving true: He's nothing close to a frontline starter, and because they can't get draft-pick compensation for him, they're going to rue trading starter C.J. Edwards, whom evaluators absolutely love.
They tried to get Andrelton Simmons last offseason without even offering Profar, which was even more ridiculous. Deal has at least some logic behind it, though Rangers weren't offering enough.
That was a JD move all the way. He is just trying to leak stuff to Galloway and Company to get the heat off him and make Nolan look bad.http://sports.yahoo.com/news/10-deg...-failure-as-postseason-beckons-054555418.html
I said the trade reeked of desperation when it happened. Looks like that may have been the case.
Lol, no way the Rangers would even think about giving up Profar for a guy like Simmons.
This should have happened sooner. Hopefully he gets back on the captain crunch and becomes the fatty of old.Sabathia out for the season.
Sabathia out for the season.

What do they have...4, 5 games remaining?
Whatever. He'd be out 8 weeks if it was the start of the season.
Lol, no way the Rangers would even think about giving up Profar for a guy like Simmons.

Well they just lost 3 of the first 3 games in this series to them so...hopefully the O's can make the WC interesting by beating Tampa these next couple of days
