What year(s) would you say UFC had the shittest roster? What were the UFC dark ages to you? I say 2004-2006 was the point that the UFC had by far the worst roster. The talent pool in all the divisions really sucked. I think the talent pool was better in BloodSport UFC from 95-2003 than 2004-2006. You know it's shit when Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski were running things. During that time lots of UFC vets were fighting in Pride like Royce, Shamrock, Severn, Tank, Frye and Bas I think was in Pancrase.

Yeah 2004-2006 definitely has to be it. It was the Chuck Liddell show then, he probably could have easily moved up to heavyweight like Randy did and won the HW title.

I'm still a fan of sap and hold out hope that he will start caring about fighting again. Though deep down I understand it won't ever happen. :(

Too bad since a big wrecking machine with the charisma he has would be a great thing for MMA.

You know what would have prevented all these injuries? Not providing health insurance that covers training injuries. Wusses.

I think the best path of action with MMA nowadays is to not keep up with any news, just mark the date of UFC events on the calender, expect Arlovski vs. Sylvia as the main event, and be pleasantly surprised when it's anything but that. That way all expectations are low.

LAS VEGAS – The Ultimate Fighter Live Finale, which took place Friday at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, drew a reported attendance figure of 1,628 and a live gate of $195,250.

UFC officials announced the figures at the evening's post-event press conference, which MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) attended.

lol

love on your sleeve
The TUF finale's typically draw 1700-1900 people. Not really a big drop off there.

Lol the pre-fight "Fedor is ripped!" post came in like clockwork.
Yeah, Fedor's problem over the last few years isn't his physique, it's that he abandoned every part of his skillset that didn't involve wild punching.

Where's the Nerd Chat for Pacman/Bradley brehs?

Uncle Dana said it was one of the lowest gates in UFC history at the presser. He was definitely salty.

This is pretty much why I tend to ignore this thread for large periods, it makes things much easier... in various ways :p

Also, given how popular that "other" thread was last night, how many mma fans know this thread even exists? lol

This wasn't last night's one, this was the VEGAS one last week with Kampmann-Ellenberger.

Last night's will probably be even worse dude lol.

Just joined chat. We can collectively root for the death of Bob Arum, come on in. Oh and laugh at Lebron.
