"We planted some mines and we can't find them now"

Season 7 Oops GIF by Workaholics

It's simple, you get every speed boat that you used to launch the mines and sweep the strait until you find it.

Run Away Nuclear Bomb GIF by Identity

Current modern artillery has around 50-70km range.
Artillery was not used to block the strait.

The whole problem is that, if Iran would not be spending insane amount of resources preparing for war for decades this would be already like afganistan but 20 times worse and that's conservative. But they did.
Oh! And what happened that they became so reluctant to showcase all that great power from your entire IGRC promotional post and are now relying solely on USVs to control the strait?

It's not BS. It's from official US assessment.
Officials also claimed that Iran was planning to attack the United States.

Idk what you mean there about bases and detection range.
What I mean is that it's much easier to defend a few dozen bases if the enemy doesn't have a large number of missiles and can't overwhelm the air defense system. If all the propaganda being spread here by you were even half true, the Americans would have lost at least half of their bases by now.

America has been a net energy exporter for several decades now

We already sell significant amounts to LNG to Europe now to replace some of the supply they were getting from Russia. What the EU and the media refuses to tell you is that Europe is still getting a lot of LNG from Russia to this very day, funding the Russian invasion of Ukraine for the past 4 years lol

East Asian island nations like Japan and Taiwan would do well to start signing long term contracts to buy oil from the US instead of the Middle East. Not only are we closer, we aren't subject to the whims of a theocratic death cult regime obsessed with destroying Israel and America

You're not taking the price into account.

An Iranian delegation is expected to arrive in Islamabad on Friday night, officials in Pakistan's capital said, ahead of crucial peace talks with the US set for Saturday.
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf will lead the delegation, one of the people said, asking not to be identified because the discussions are private.
And once again, there isn't a single IRGC member 🤔

US intelligence indicates that China is preparing to deliver new air defense systems to Iran within the next few weeks, according to three people familiar with recent intelligence assessments.... The systems Beijing is preparing to transfer are shoulder-fired anti-air missile systems known as MANPADs, the sources said, which posed an asymmetric threat to low-flying US military aircraft throughout the course of the five-week war and could again if the ceasefire falls apart.

It's one and the same to the younger generations and none of them are buying any of it.

A lot of why America got so fucked up to begin with was the blowback over Dubya's blunders, now imagine the next, even bigger wave of that.

Idk. Dubya was a different era. Back when there was some semblance of accountability for our commander in chief, even if it was very thin. I dont think he'd have gotten away with even quarter of what Trump has without the party turning on him. But then again, he had 9/11 and a wave of hyperpatriotism to give him a lot of leeway.

Ukrainians right now are buying oil and gas from Russia despite them being at war with each other.

US does have capability right now to self-sustain itself on it's own production. But the price isn't dictated by US but by global markets. Literally supply and demand. If Iran stops 20-30% of global oil production then that 20-30% will be above global need for oil which means that price will be rising until it reaches price equilibrium where some of oil consumption will be stopped because it will be to expensive to operate.

US can try to impose export ban but that never worked properly on global stage.

I think there's a good chance that Trump isn't mentally competent to be president and that any way to get rid of him respectfully is being sought.
I honestly think Trump might not last the month.

President Vance in May?

He's lost the plot. It honestly reads like he's having a mental breakdown.

The top Democrat on a key congressional oversight committee is calling on the White House physician to immediately perform a comprehensive cognitive assessment of Donald Trump following the president's threats to destroy Iranian civilization.

In his letter, Rep. Jamie Raskin urged White House Physician Captain Sean Barbabella to share the results with members of Congress, citing what the congressman called warning signs that the president "has been exhibiting signs consistent with dementia and cognitive decline" with outbursts and statements that have turned "increasingly incoherent, volatile, profane, deranged, and threatening.

Now Melania is distancing herself from the President, I think this is gathering momentum fast.

I called it.

Ah, beyond the crazy tweets there's also real life. If JB finished his term in office, no reason why DJT won't.
Nah, his decline is accelerating now.

There's zero chance he sees out his term imo.

Either they have to confiscate his phone and stop him from making any public engagements and effectively confirm that he is being kept prisoner in a sort of asylum, Or you are going to end up with a president who doesn't feel like getting dressed and will do press conferences in his pyjamas, declare war on any country that he doesn't like the look of and tweet (more) videos of women being murdered in the street.

It is so over, the guy has dementia. It will not get better, only worse. Everyone knows it and that's why everyone - from his wife to his supporters - are getting their positions arranged before action is taken.

Edit: laugh it up if you like, but this war has put the President's competence under intense public scrutiny. I think there's a good chance that the only administration that gets toppled by this war is the Trump-led one.

Before this war in Iran started it looked like this

And that was the plan for 2027.

Getting "a lot" from Russia is a bit hyperbolic looking at the chart, don't you think (when it was almost half in 2021)? USA imports saw the biggest growth.

Has anything really changed for these people? So what if has dementia? He's still the only game in town for them.

They can see the way the wind is blowing, or even have been told what's coming.
These the guys that wanted Biden to go another term

What hypocritical nonsense
Nope:

Representative Jamie Raskin of Maryland, a key member of the House committee that investigated the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, sent President Biden a four-page letter this month that compared the 81-year-old commander in chief to a tiring baseball pitcher and urged him to consult with fellow Democrats about whether to continue his campaign.

It looks good on paper, but the economic outlook isn't so promising. Without access to cheap oil and gas Europeans will likely have to move more of their production to Asia, which will also be receiving that very same cheap oil and gas from Russia. It looks like only China will come out ahead in all this mess. But if US/EU manage to bring Venezuela and Iran back to a civilized state then prices could be lower. Then there's the impact of Europe's shift away from nuclear power.

No.

The whole thing has its own dedicated wikipedia article, there were that many people asking him to step down.

oooooh you mean near the end, and in hindsight... yeah, the entire democratic party all agreed eventually when he was buffooning around on stage for live debates and it was so painfully obvious that there was an issue.

You forget the years leading up to it where many people were criticising it and the whitehouse kept releasing statements that he is "Sharp" and "mentally fit".

Trying to convince people President Trump is senile or similar despite all evidence to the contrary has been such an effective strategy for them for the last ten years. They should definitely stick with that.

When it comes to nuclear, they are already reversing course. This was a big fucking mistake (especially for Germany).

To be fair only resetera retards think this.
Same retards who tried to gaslight Biden was not senile

If you're gonna make a claim that defies what everyone remembers seeing play out in real time, you should probably use a better source. Their editing process on matters involving domestic politics leaves them credibility challenged to many people.

Those little numbers at the end of the names are called citations and if you click on them, they link you to the web sources where those claims were made.

Hope that helps (y)

Bro come on. Pelosi is listed there. Anyone claiming she was not publicly supporting him before the debate just come on man.

Ok, of course not everyone was saying the same thing at the same time but at least they had the senses to remove grandpa after that disastrous debate.

They should have done it half a year erlier.

Agreed they should have done it a lot earlier. My guess is they loved having that auto pen lying around though.

No credit to them for coming to their senses post debate. Getting caught in lies about how wonderful he was did not equal coming to their senses. They just caught lying again, red handed, by Biden basically drooling and ranting like a senile nursing home resident.

So why are the people who called out Biden's mental decline for years oddly silent when it's seemingly happening to their guy?

Hypocritical on both sides.

Absolutely. Partisanship is really destroying the perception of some people here. Americans deserved someone better than senile Joe Biden, and they should also hope that Trump is on his way out, because he is also in a state of obvious mental decline.

Pretending everything was fine and just hoping Biden didn't have a catastrophic sundowning moment during the debate was the optimal strategy, that's how unbelievable it would have been to try and claim any of the alternatives had beaten President Trump following the 'election'. Once Biden did have such a moment, it was pretty much irrelevant what they did, besides trying to make sure President Trump was taken out of the race.

So why are the people who called out Biden's mental decline for years oddly silent when it's seemingly happening to their guy?
Because Biden was very obviously senile and President Trump very obviously isn't. The only reason the country allowed the Biden situation to slide for as long as it did is because nobody believed for a second he was actually running anything. The Biden situation could no longer plausibly be denied after the 'debate' however.

I don't know if Trump has any dementia or not but he is 79! Person this old shouldn't be making world changing decisions...

Trump and Biden are the oldest US Presidents in history.

Maybe there's more that I haven't read. Possible because as soon as the nfl games ended I dropped fox one and haven't watched tv news since. Even before I had cut way down after dropping cable last year. As an aside, I recommend tuning out if you're tired of it all. Sun still comes up and I've been finding the cut down to just a few articles a day refreshing at times.

Back to the claimed decline. So far I've seen some tweets that make me think he's butt hurt that NATO took a somewhat adversarial approach (closing air space is adversarial in my book) and conservatives disagreeing with him. I find it sad that he hasn't figured out it's not winning to just run his mouth about people who disagree with him. Pathetic actually. But people do that, even rational ones, when they are angry. I do wish he'd chill out and accept criticism though.

But he was always a dick. So being as asshole is not really proof of a decline yet imo. If you're talking about the ending civilization nonsense tweet I was definitely reading and thought he was dumb for going that far because it would be used by those who hate him against him. But I thought it was obvious sabre rattling to scare the still alive regime scumbags. They don't respond to diplomacy. Anyone pretending they might is either too scared to do anything or lying to themselves imo.

If something happens like the debate and he seems actually senile I'll be one of the first hoping Vance takes over. It needs to happen though. Rumors, off the record, etc., will not cut it ever again after what the opposition party and their media cronies did the last 10 years.

As someone who watched dementia slowly kill his own grandmother, I can tell you he absolutely does not have dementia, the guy is taking questions and talking daily to the press.

The people here claiming this have no clue what they are talking about.

Dementia is ugly, the days of Biden suddenly going silent and wandering off were clear signs and it actually made me sad for him because I had watched the same thing happen to my gran .

What i didnt see however was her speaking to public crowds and answering questions and travelling the world and playing golf, holding meetings and so on.

The dementia argument is genuinely a stupid one and anyone whose had to sit and watch a loved one wither away while not remembering who they are would absolutely know that, the only things you could maybe say is sundowning and thats when trump is making tweets but literally no one besides his wife could tell us if that is actually happening.

The big "evidence" from retards is that he made a silly tweet... hes been doing that since before his first term. He use to call leaders Kim Jong un the little rocket man and would say he didnt have the guts... like this isnt new behavior from Trump at all.

Yeah, I know how dementia looks like (from my own grandmother, RIP). Trump does not have it, but it still doesn't change the fact that age fucks up our brains, and person that is 79 years old is nowhere close to having the same clarity of mind compared to (for example) 50 or 60 years old person (or himself from the past).

This new trend of senile Presidential candidates is pretty stupid.

There really needs to be an upper limit on things like the Presidency, Supreme Court etc.

65 to 70 should be the MAX.
