Its the first time theyve made a game past 240p and textures bigger than 16x16. Im not expecting a smooth ride.
Pretty sure MH1, 2 and 3 were all bigger than 240p...

Nu-huh, i don't buy the thing about this effectively being MH5.
This smells like a reverse Peace Walker situation.
If they wanted to increase its chances to sell in Japan they would have called it that way, otherwise they're keeping.
But if by any chance its real, what the Switch games are going to be? X2? World Portable?
They made monster hunter 3U for wiiU, which ran at 1080p? Am I missing something?
What is the deal with the denial here and there is a MH5 for Switch - exclusively of course .
Capcom doesn't make a game with AAA budget with the main developers just to make a glorified spin off title. Not that a Switch title which would take advantage of the hardware wouldn't be much cheaper but stuck on one platform with or less international appeal.
It would be more likely that Switch will get a technical downgraded version of World with extra local Co op stuff - that tick tack format wouldn't be new for the franchise.
lol tag checks out
what is exactly your problem that people "deny" a game that doesnt exist?
Why do you even reply do my post if you have nothing to say?
Pretty sure they're asking why people are in denial that this game is MH5. They're saying that the most likely scenario is a portable release of this game similar to the MHP series rather than a separate "real" MHP5 coming to Switch that's an entirely different game.Ok
port begging is bannable especially after a capcom employee came out and say no
better?
Having watched the trailer again finally and with some of the infos in here I'm starting to get a little excited actually. Not a fan of the detective bugs still, would've prefered to actually look for stuff but I really dig the seeming emphasis on.. hunting. something I always missed in the series. And as a gunner main the leaf suit makes me kind of giddy tbh..
But no idea what's going on with that LBG, I really hope it's just something like a hunter art or whatever...
Not sold on the hook, I always liked the literal groundedness of MH but we'll see how it works out
The co-op dinosaur drop is awesome, that's so monster hunter, BUT, where's the quirk Capcom?? BBQ spit and no music? And not even one meow? SMH
Still want to see the field and town loops and of course Fashion Hunter and The Quirk but if those are mostly intact I'll be fine.
Other changes I could see them making:
1. Sharpness/Stamina degradation rate greatly decreased.
Western audiences dislike frequent maintenance in non-survival games, hence why more and more AAA titles are getting rid of degradation (Skyrim, Fallout 4) or minimizing it (Dark Souls 3). With QoL changes being emphasized so far, I could see sharpness/stamina being a "once per fight at most" thing rather than a constant, nagging concern.
2. You can carry more than one weapon at a time.
We already know that we can switch out our weapons at the base camp, but I wouldn't be surprised if World also allowed hunters to carry two weapons at once. There's some speculation that the hunter with the lance from one of the promo pics has a sling on his side, and it would be really cool to have a secondary/backup weapon for tactical purposes.
3. Dodges and rolls now have innate i-frames without Evasion skill.
Evasion, to me, always felt pretty necessary for any build without a shield. With games like Souls, Bloodborne and Nioh familiarizing a wide number of gamers with the idea of i-frames in hardcore action games, I feel like we're going to see a naked, baseline equivalent of at least Evasion +2 in the new game as a way of matching it with the aforementioned contemporaries.
4. Experience points.Yes, yes... commence raging.
Western gamers love passive upgrades and skill trees, and an attempt to make MH appeal to the West is going to need more RPG elements than ever. I doubt we'll see traditional leveling, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if we got a "resource points" style currency that is spent on permanent upgrades to our hunter.
Keeping in mind that the core goal of World is making MH palatable for the West, all of this seems plausible.
Why is it running on MT framework? When the game finally entered production, were the RE engine or even Panta Rhei engine too much in their infancy to use in MHW?

Buy it for PC then? Or stop expecting console games to ever be 60fps.And I'm out.
Until something real is shown, I'm on the anything can happen train. Especially since it's been quite a while since Capcom has not been in a self sabotaging mood.
Are you implying that previous MH games don't have iframes on the dodge by default? Because that's just false. There are much fewer than dark souls has by default, but they are certainly there. Plenty of players including myself get by just fine without evasion skills on most of their sets.
The joke is that outside of that silly 4chan rumor there is no base for a "westernised" Moster Hunter.

You had like 0.2 seconds of invincibility. I just don't think that's gonna cut it when it's so easy to have twice as much in other, similar games.
It's a AAA MH for consoles and PC announced at an E3 press conference. It's even coming to Xbox.
No Prowler!?
Nooooooooo
Was the best addition in Generations, dammit!
Dodge and roll already have a small invincibile timeframe even without evasion skill.
Yeah, I know about that (and I remember it being a super strong ability) but he was talking about standard i-frames on roll and that's news to me since I dropped MH after UniteI knows it was in the PSP version. Evade+
I sucked at the I frames for this game
In which Gen was this introduced?
You're in for a treat.Never played a MH game before but I'm liking the sound of this.
It is annoying that Capcom has no plans for XX to be localized. They're completely separate games on different platforms.Nintendo fans need to chill with Monster Hunter not being exclusive to their platforms before, some people having massive breakdowns elsewhere

What's the deal with people replying with nonsense to my posts today?
I want this so bad I might go back and replay 4U.
Do people still play that online?
Actually is the online even still working?

Capcom taking a huge risk with this game. It didn't look too bad, but it also didn't blow me away.
Uhhhh because in the MonHun community, numbered entries are a huge deal. Which is why people don't lose their mind when a Frontier Z or whatever is announced. The huge news here is that even if it isn't numbered, the lead team is developing the game.
My point was that it's obvious it's western-focused by the way Capcom has handled every aspect of its announcement.
I think its poetic how before MH World was announced, many disbelieved the 4chan rumour as it would result in MH5 not coming to Switch, and now some want to believe it as it undermines MHW and claims the true MH is coming to SW.
Confirmation bias 101.
The game was even supposed to be named Monster Hunter 5. It's the first Monster Hunter game which will leave it's PS2 roots.
Capcom is using the opportunity to try to make it big in the west as well.
And based on the information there is no reason to believe there is another full Monster Hunter in development for our little Switch owning console warriors.
