holy hell it is addicting ;_; especially when you can find a good consistent team

late but yeah i am playing the park more and more, its kinda broken in 2 vs 2 but still fun

do mics not work cause i usually try to get 5 on 5 games but they sometimes never show, when you get those games its hilarious

but smh when people just walk past games when 1/2 spots are needed, just play

I think you just need to wait it out, my player was playing much better than anyone who was starting but it still took me like 30 games to get into the starting line up.

I believe the names are just a formality now. The rising all stars are now "drafted" by the coaches from select first and second year players. I'm not sure if 2K addresses that though lol.

What is the point of having shot quality and the other thing if it means jack shit. Getting excellents and A-range shots while still missing consistently. Then, the computer keeps dumping shit in with defense on them.

Getting away from complaining about VC a bit, I find MyTeam ultra confusing and filled with negative incentives to play.

The contracts stuff makes me hesitant to play any games as the interface for setting up your lineups is incredibly tedious (at least give me an option to auto-build lineups of the top-rated players in a certain class that I can then tweak if I want).

The team uniform/logo/court system is shit—why let me name my organization the "California Horses" when I have to play with Raptors away and Pistons home jerseys in the Pepsi Center?

Also sucks I need to pay for PS Plus to play with my team online, but I guess at some point I'll make that jump (hasn't seemed worth it since 2K is the only multiplayer game I have at the moment).

I've been pretty heavy on MyPlayer with PC since 2k9, so the MyTeam mode is completely new to me and seemed like a decent thing to keep up with (MyGM is ok, but feeling kind of flat). It seems like if you know the system from last-gen it wouldn't be so bad, but the new player experience (even to a 2k old-timer and all-around nerd) is pretty rough.

Welp, I think my mygm save file is corrupted. It crashes the game when I try to load it, and when I go to the files, it says no team where it should say Rockets. Awesome.

I have the same problem. My SF myplayer changed to SG all of a sudden. This fckng game is getting ridiculous. Damn, I should had trade this game last month when I can get it for $40.

Lol at this game. I started a new mygm with the Pacers. I drafted a decent team, and simulated the first season, lost in the playoffs. The next season I traded for the Piston's pick, and they had the worst record by far. I was then fired. I took over the Pelicans because I remembered they were the 2nd worst team at the time. They ended up having the 3rd pick. I traded that and a player for the #1 pick. I also got the 24th, and 25th picks during the draft. The #1 guy was an 86 PF overall, the highest I've ever seen. The 24th was a 78 C, and the 25th was a 75 C/PF. I had no scouting done for me in the draft. I remembered the #1 guy's (and he was projected #1) ratings. I also remembered the 75 overall guy's ratings, but the 78 was a crapshoot and I only chose him because he was supposed to be a top 5 pick. That was by far the best draft I've seen through about 7-8 seasons. I played a game and got off. I just tried to load back in, and it was corrupted. Man, does this game blow or what.

I like NBA Jam, but I've never really played a simulation sports game. I don't really know anything about basketball besides shooting with friends as a kid. Does anyone have any tips on how I can get started in the game? There are a lot of modes and it's all very daunting, in a Gran Turismo sort of way.

There's like five or six difficulty levels iirc; play on Rookie for a while until you get a hold of things. Also, watch a real basketball game or two, will at least give you a basic feel of what you should be doing and when. Beyond that it's all pretty intuitive imo; it's just like soccer or hockey in principle but with a fuckton more jumping and scoring.

Ok, I finally got so frustrated with the game last night that I threw my controller in disgust and accidently hit my PS3 (which was sitting next to the PS4). Luckily, no damage to the DS4, but the PS3 suffered a small scuff where it impacted. It's just cosmetic damage, but the damage this game does to my blood pressure is pretty real. I dunno why I keep playing this overly-scripted, broken-ass shit, but it's the best hoops game out there--which really isn't saying much now that I've had this much time with the game--so being a b-ball fan I got no other choice as far as video games go.

I can't stand how the game makes choices for you on meeting VC goals. The game I just played had me try and outscore my rival, but I'm actually starting to see how the AI is going to play where my team mates are scoring and I am not getting good looks at the basket, so I realize that I need to give it up and lo and behold my team mates hit almost every single pass I make, no matter where I am or where they are, so clearly if I try to be the one man scoring show, my shots aren't going to drop, and I will lose the lead and probably the game.

I gave up the VC challenge and ended up winning the game with a double double, albeit with one of my lowest scoring performances since starting my player.

Edit: I just restarted mycareer mode since my original save was offline only. At least I started out with more VC to help bump my stats a little. I still ended up getting drafted after Jackson Ellis even though I beat him handily in every category in the Rookie Showcase. Fucking Utah Jazz again. smh lol.

Ok what the hell...as I mentioned earlier, I started a new game, got online mode, passed rookie showcase and got drafted.

Now I'm benched for the first three games...and I'm forced to watch the game without being able to skip through?!? I get it, I'm benched. Haha, no fun for you, Rook. Scripted injury BS incoming. But come on 2K--no way to just fucking end skip through all that shit? Goddamn game, I have to sit through minutes and minutes without touching the controller or playing? I don't care if this was intentional "Real Life" drama. Lame-o.

I think the over-scripting needs to go for 2K15's MyCareer. Maybe I place too much importance on this mode, but honestly, it's the only mode I want to play because I can live out my hoops dreams through it. We need more control over our players' on-court destinies and less of this pseudo-RPG "if I do this, then only this outcome occurs" BS. I could also do without the fake behind the scenes drama, too. Just focus on the game itself and what happens in that setting. I don't care what LeBron or Kobe or Durant or whoever does in the off-season or behind the scenes, I just care about what they do on the basketball court. The same should be true of my custom player in MyCareer mode.

welp, its their last fucking chance with me. I played through an entire season only to be stopped from progressing beyond the first round of playoffs. After alot of anger and not playing the game for a while, I started another season. Played half-way through, and apparently my save data got corrupted.

if this patch doesn't fix those problems, i'm done with the game. I'm trading it for something else and I'm not supporting 2k this year.

Lol, just had an obscene difficulty spike right after I got to 20 straight wins in MyGM. Used to breeze past teams relatively easily and now I'm getting blown out by 20. AI is automatic, can't rebound for shit, etc. etc.

I want to scream at this shitty defense this game has. Every single game I play, my team allows 40...40 POINTS IN THE PAINT!!!. WTF!?!?! Rebounding? They don't know what that is. I can't stand that shit. Those stupid ass floaters annoy the hell out of me. For a straight game, all the team did was run to the paint, floater. Run to the paint, floater. And it so happen that I was playing against the Celtics...the team Ellis is on.

The floater almost always goes in. Just wait until you get to a game where the computer just rains down threes continuously. Defend the perimeter? No point because they'll still make it.

Yep, the defensive woes are killing me. Any way to adjust sliders to help in any way? Either I always get burned on my man because I can't react fast enough to the CPU or my teammates slack off and leave somebody wide fucking open, it's terribly annoying.

So annoying. And you can't control the loss. It irks me. I'm a SG so I don't have the power to call plays like a PG. And the lack of screen help from the cpu is fucking ridiculous. When your playing against a team, they have walls of screens you have to get through, my team puts absolutely none up. I'm a pick and roll specialist as well and none of them help. I remember in 2k13, I was always able to call a screen. Now I can't? BS. This game is a joke

I really want to love 2K14. Unfortunately, it's rather difficult to do that considering it won't let me play past the Rising Stars game. The new patch, announced last week and scheduled to be released "shortly," is supposedly going to fix this glitch...it becomes infinitely more frustrating knowing that the XB1 received the patch 4 days ago. Anyone out there have insider info on what "shortly" means in regards to the PS4?
