Cleveland's advantage is that GSW is smaller than any team they've faced and their best player likes to operate out of the paint which setups their offense. That allows for a slower game and the Cavs can run with anybody in transition.

Basically GS doesnt have the bigs to stop LeBron down low. Cleveland didnt play extremely fast or anything when they were blowing teams out, they are perfectly capable of slowing the game down. I want to see how they are gonna stop Kyrie for one.

I think a platoon of Dray, Iggy, Barnes, and Klay would suffice in at least making things difficult for LeBron. And in all fairness to Toronto and Atlanta, the Cavs haven't had to deal with a defense with this steady a stream of consistent wing defenders yet. Warriors are a lot tougher on the perimeter as well...I can see Kyrie, JR, and Love struggling to get the same looks they've been getting thus far in the playoffs.

Cavs also kept GSW under 90 points on their Christmas matchup. They lost the game, but they have defensive ability to slow the game down and limit Golden States points.

How about when Cleveland lost by 32 with their full squad in their own building? Can't leave that regular season game out.

I'm going to predict Warriors in 6 but I think the Cavs have more than a fair shot at taking it. It will depend on the matchups and adjustments by each team, which we won't really know about until game 1.

It's hard to pick a side. Cleveland is improved but they haven't faced the level of competition the Warriors have in the playoffs. I'm leaning towards the Warriors but I wouldn't be surprised if the Cavs pull it out. We'll see how game 1 plays out.

I want 7 games. After this there will not be any more basketball to watch until October. I need to overdose on as many games as I can get.

Warriors in 7...... but I really think they'll win in 6.

The only advantage i can even afford the Cavs is that lebron is rested enough to basically put the team on his back and keep the team in it if/when need be and pull out that iso ball and driving to the paint and drawing fouls and all that.

And even then, I don't recall seeing the Cavs match that intensity once Lebron goes into that mode so the rest of the team is gonna be complacent

By every other metric Warriors have the edge to me.

I want to add that the Warriors have faced serious adversity this playoff run which has made them even better under pressure. Curry out for much of rounds 1 and 2, going down 3-1 in the WCF and coming back. Cavs on the other hand have not faced that kind of adversity, but most likely will during the Finals. They're going to need to prove they can step up to the challenge like the Warriors have if they have any hope of taking it.

There's alot riding on this series historic wise.

I want Kyrie and Cleveland to get a championship bad but back to back titles, seeing the historic season getting the perfect ending, and Lebron going 2/7 in the finals is too juicy not to cheer for.

Dubs in 7.

Warriors in 3. They will beat the Cavs so bad on their home court that LeBron is devastated and forfeits the rest of the series, puts baby powder on his hands and slaps JR Smith across the face, and then drives away in his Kia that he 1/1 or 100% really does drive back home and proceeds to play NBA2K16 to get his revenge where he also loses to CPU Warriors.

Seriously though - I see this series going 5 games with the Dubs stealing game 4 in Cleveland from another SSJ4 level performance by Klay, and the Dubs closing out the series at home game 5.

I also see Cleveland's main objective is to attempt to get Draymond to commit to another tech and get him booted for a game.

Mark my words.

But still what? OKC is definitely better than Toronto but GS should have beaten them as quickly as Cleveland beat Toronto?

The teams that gave GS troubles (Milwaukee, Boston, OKC) did so with tall athletes switching everything on the defensive end. Outscoring GS isn't easy especially when you consider that GS has a top five defense and Cleveland's defense is average at best.

So, GS has a better offense and defense... where is Cleveland's advantage? I think they have to go big, try to outrebound them, slow the pace, and get their best defenders on the court. Like last year.

I just don't think it means much that Cleveland lost to Toronto twice. Cleveland eased up a bit after winning the first two games and then snapped back to reality after Toronto tied it up. They absolutely clobbered them at that point to finish it off while showing just how much more talented they really are. The point is that Cleveland is just as good as any team GS has faced this season. And if they are vulnerable at all, Cleveland can beat them. If OKC could/should have done it, so can Cleveland. Especially when they'll all have last year on their minds.

It seems like everyone thinks the entire Cavs roster will step aside, allow the Warriors to stroll to the basket and perform a layup drill all game, every game. I'd love to see that happen but they aren't that god awful defensively. But we'll see how it goes.

Dubs in 7. This is gonna be a tough series for both teams. Anyone that thinks this is gonna be a walk is a fool.

So you're saying that the Cavs are a different team from last year and are better, but the Warriors aren't?

Last year the Cavs had Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love injured for the series and Lebron had to carry the load and it took the Warriors 6 games to finish them off. This years Cavs team is healthy and way more loaded.

Yes and no though. The Cavs are a different team, but I'm not sure that makes them better equipped to handle the Warriors as presently constructed.

Cavs in 5 watch. They are built to beat the Warriors. They matchup so well with them right now especially with their late season acquisitions.

Okay, I was willing to entertain that they may be better equipped this year than last year, but this is absurd, especially without HCA.

Also how are they built to beat the Warriors? They seem like precisely the style of team that GSW regularly waxes. All I can point to is Lebron tbh.

The Warriors were also scared as fuck during the Finals last year. Green and Klay especially played like garbage for most of the series. Lebron was the guy who was not scared of the moment and also took it by himself. Once the Warriors figured out the Cavs big lineup it was not even close. I would not use that series to gauge what is going to happen over the next 2 weeks.

The Warriors are a much better team than the one that made the finals last year. Its the same players, but their belief and confidence is about as high as it can get for a pro athlete. Obviously the Cavs are better too, but it is a real mystery as to how good they actually are because they have not been tested for the entire playoffs.

This is where the Cavs get tested. Its not about Lebron. He will get his. Its about the rest of the team. Are they going to rise to the occasion and come out champions, or are they going to falter when the pressure and fire is at its hottest like the Thunder in the Conference Finals? I think Kyrie, after game 1, is going to be able to handle the moment. Not sure sure about Love. I could see him getting shook. Only 2 days away, don't need to wait long to find out.

The Warriors are better chemistry wise but are basically the same team as last year. The Cavs are greatly improved over last year and are HEALTHY which is key this year.
Curry is better than last year
Klay is better than last year
Draymond is better than last year.
Why do people think the Warriors are not better than last year?
