Not really. If you can't win with Shaq, Kobe, and nobody else, what makes you think you can win with Shaq, Wade, and nobody else?

The only real question for LA is whether or not Odom is going to start hitting the bong as soon as he touches down in LA, or if he'll wait until midseason or so. If he plays like he did for Miami last season, he'll be a big help for Team Kobe, but if he relapses into the Clip-era Odom, it'll be bad news.

Well, on the other hand Shaq will benefit from playin in the East where there are almost zero big men. But I just don't see the Big Fella ever getting back to his form in 2000-2001. I agree with what you said about Odom, but in LA those guys will have so much less pressure on them because it will be Kobe (if he stays) that gets all the attention and blame if they lose.

"Welcome back Odom...."

LOL

Who smokes the most weed in the NBA? That was always an easy question to answer when Sam Perkins was still around, but now who is the king of the pipe these days? I think the leading candidates gotta be: anyone who has played for the Blazers in the last 9 years, T-Mac (looks at his fucking eyes!!), Odom, and Coleman probably belongs on that list to.

There's nothing wrong with toking a bit of weed. Certainly better than going out everynight and getting shitfaced via 20 alcoholic drinks.

This is looking good, lets get Shaq outta here! Now they need to convice Kobe to say... it shouldn't be to hard once Shaq being a goner is finalized.

Kobe wants Wade on the Lakers
Added: 10th July, 2004 4:20 PM ET

LA Times: "Bryant, according to one team executive, is pushing for the Lakers to acquire Wade in any deal with the Heat."

-------------------------------------------

The Atlanta Hawks and the Indiana Pacers have agreed to a sign-and-trade deal with guard Stephen Jackson, ESPN the Magazine's Ric Bucher reported Saturday night.

The Hawks will re-sign Jackson to a six-year, $44 million deal and then trade him to the Pacers for forward Al Harrington. The trade cannot take place until at least July 14th, per NBA rules.

Fuck-A-Bryant! This mofo is starting to piss me off. Im starting to feel like id rather see the Lakers fall to Clipper status in the NBA than to see them run by this arrogant prick. MAKE A DECISION AND QUIT DICKING THE FANS AROUND!

Why did you put that AND Grant? Brian Grant is a washed up forward with a superstar contract. He earns like $15 mil a year til 2007.

Only reason he's in the trade was for the contract.

Yeah, Miami has been trying to get rid of all three. No one ever took their offer until now. Heat are sitting pretty if this deal goes through.

Sure Grant has a shitty contract but he'll give you 8 and 8 every night and Shaq alone was eating up $27 mil lol

...

Brian Grant vs. the West's power forwards...he's not even going to get 2 and 2 a night.

this trade is to rebuild for the future. Grant, while a good banger if he can stay healthy, is nowhere near woth $14 million, but teams will be begging to trade for his contract in 2 years, at which point we can clear capspace to steal Yao and bring him to play next to a REAL superstar.. With bringing in Caron and Odom, we can finally get rid of Devean Gump too!

Umm...his play in the West is what got him the ridiculous deal in the first place :p He won't do any worse than Karl did. Hopefully, he can stay healthy..

3 years ago Konex, come on now.

I guess that means Vin Baker is going to come back to the west and fuck everyone up!

LOL I know but like I said, he can't possibly do any worse than Karl and maybe he'll even be there for half the season ;)

Not like there's any other bigs to sign with that money. Brian Cardinal just got snapped up for some outrageous salary too lol

I don't even know why you guys try to reason with him... He belongs to the church of Kobe. In this church any team that has Kobe is bound for the championship, and Kobe is innocent... As well as God... And Shaq replaces the devil... (damn guy is better than his deity!)

A source tells ESPN's David Aldridge that free agent forward Antonio McDyess is close to a deal with the Detroit Pistons that would pay him $30 million over five years.

The Denver Nuggets have decided to extend a lucrative six-year offer sheet to restricted free agent Kenyon Martin and are expected to formally present the offer to Martin on Sunday.

I guess the Pistons have decided they dont want to work on winning another title.

No, Konex simply understands basketball. Grant was a beast during his West days, and I don't see how that's going to change.

actually he wont rip anything up. at worst he will be karl malone i think. he is younger and i think can stay healthier. that still doesnt replace the problem of real big man down low post presence.

I live in Michigan and I watched the parade. Sheed was really acting suspect saying stuff like "they were a great team without me" and being distant. Maybe it was posturing to get leverage with Dumars but I would not be surprised if he doesn't re-sign with Detroit...

but they let okur go so they could re sign sheed? must be has expecting something astronomical.

fuck the sixers are so retarded. they offered the MLE all to brian skinner cause as they believed they had no chance at sheed...but hell if they waited (wasnt like skinner was being courted by all sorts of teams) they might have been in the running. after all philly is his home town and with sheed, thomas, and dalembert (with the big dog and coleman gone) the sixers could have had a decent lineup with marc jackson coming off the bench.

So what do we saw when it's official?

"Shaq's now a player for the Heat" sounds like too much, and "Shaq's a Heat" just sounds retarded. "Shaq's a Mav" or "Shaq's a Pacer, now" would have been so much easier.

Stupid ass Heat and their refusing to use a plural noun for their team name. I'd be saying the same thing about the Jazz if anybody gave a damn about them these days :p

Does the East even have any kind of decent big man? Shaq will absolutely exploit the hell out of that. Big Ben Wallace was getting mashed on that series... Shaq scored 34 and 36 pts in two of those games. If he can do that to Ben and the Pistons, he'll be eating up a lot of these other Eastern teams.Wade also has the advantage of a big man drawing all the attention, so look for him to become even more dangerous. I think Miami did pretty good with this trade... Although they aren't that young, exciting team anymore, it'll be fun watching Wade and Shaq, and hopefully they'll have more chemistry than Kobe and Shaq. Wade doesn't look as arrogant.

Didn't i tell you guys Riley would be involved in the Master Plan the whole time?

"Odom and Grant for Shaq? Sure, we'll do it. Hell, you guys want Caron Butler too? Ok thats fine. How about Dorrell Wright and a few draft picks while im at it?"

"Screw you fuckers, im going back the LA! TAKE ME DOWN TO THE PARADISE CITY WHERE THE GRASS IS GREEN AND THE GIRLS ARE PRETTY! OH WON'T YOU PLEASE TAKE ME HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME!"

Watch Shaq opt out after one season in Miami and resign with LA for the minimum. Mitch and Shaq had this planned allthe long!

When did Shaq become such an ass? I mean he has always been a little off colored... but stuff like screaming at the owner during a pre-season game "So you gonna pay me now?"

When did he become like that?

It's funny seeing the Laker fans turn on Shaq cause he won them three championships rather than five. Entitlement is a sad thing.

The Lakers got raped in this deal. How can you deal the MVP of the league/decade and not receive a franchise player in return? Reminds me of what Phoenix gave up to get Barkley. Yeah that trade worked out for Philly pretty well.

No... it isn't ... that's what's wrong with the NBA... Jordan wouldn't do that...Magic wouldn't do that... that's just plain ghetto... when did he start acting like such an ass?

No, Jordan just gambled on NBA outcomes, leading to his 18 month suspension.

Magic contracted AIDS.

Seriously, how could ANYONE hate Shaq? All he does is play BBall. He keeps his nose out of trouble off the court, and plays hard. Sure, he could be more dominant than he already was/is, but damn he gets a lot of undeserved hate considering he's never even been caught with weed.

On a completely different subject, do we have any true Wizard fans here?
I admit, I was one who thought that the Wiz got the better of the Stackhouse/Hamilton trade, but I'm a biased dookie who hates Rip for 1999. How do the true Wiz fans (i.e. not Jordan cocksuckers) feel about the fact that their team had Rasheed Wallace, Richard Hamilton, Ben Wallace, and Chris Webber at various stages of their careers? I'd hesitate to call Jordan the worst GM in history, but perhaps it's time for Wes Unseld to take a step back. Between him and Elgin Baylor of the Clips is there a worse GM in the game? So much talent has passed through both camps with such little results. As a Charlotte Hornets fan I used to think we lost a lot of talent, but it's nothing compared to what the Clips and the Wiz/Bullets have lost.

Of course, this might also be a plan by Kobe to completely gut the Lakers only to leave 'em twisting in the wind, paving the way for him to sign with the Clippers. And quite frankly, my scenario's a hell of a lot more likely then yours.

Be afraid...be VERY afraid.

It's so damn true. I wish my team (Bobcats) had fleeced the Clips more with the second pick, i.e. threatening to take Livingston if they weren't given the second round pick back, but that isn't the way the league works. If the Lakers fleeced the Heat like that, they would NEVER be allowed to trade again in the NBA. No one would EVER do business with them again. Ever.

LeBron loves his girlfriend. There is no other woman in the world he’d rather have. The problem is, Dwyane’s not a woman.

But the players had respect for the game when they played it on the court...as well as the fans for the most part... Were they perfect humans? No. But they never went out of their way to talk back to their "boss" in the middle of a game...

I don't hate Shaq.. I rather like him as a player and a person off the court.. like you said he's never been in trouble off the court, so when did he start acting like such a heel?

Probably when he saw the Lakers front office turning heel. They're bending over backwards to plactate a man who is charged with sexual assault, and as of July 1st isn't even under contract to them anymore. Again, I would laugh so hard if the Lakers did all these moves just to satisfy Kobe, only for him to skip across the building to the Clippers. It'd look good on them...real good.
